Hello everyone! Just getting through this thread. The girls, mom and I just finished our grand slam round of the ships with our Thanksgiving trip on the Magic last week. DH did not get to go with us, so he and I jumped on one of their deals for next month and he'll do his 4th with a 3-day Magic. We've been to the Eastern Caribbean, Western Caribbean, Bahamas and Alaska and loved them all! DH and I both work full time, his requiring extensive travel. My mom lives and travels with us (Disname - Antlawn). We have one DD (6 now) and a niece who has been with us most of her life (15 now). They'll be 7 and 16 next thanksgiving. We'll also be on the Fantasy in July for an eastern Caribbean trip. We would like to do the FE. I'll request access to Facebook so I can see the other info. Just now saying hello. Found these boards and this thread. Used to posting on another forum with another line. This will be our very first Disney cruise. This is my and the DW birthday, anniversary, christmas,and any other holiday present for a couple years from wonderful doting grandparents who have wanted to do this since the kids were born.

We are:
DGPA(65?) grandpa retired techie manager that loves wine and woodworking
DGMA(younger than DGPA, old enough to be DH mom) I'm smarter than to post my mom's age - housewife and homework extraordinaire
DH (40) geek manager. Mason, Shriner, and Boy Scout Leader.
DW (37) radio marketing
DS (6) terror #1 - all american boy
DD (4) terror #2 - aka sassy pants - cute lil "daddy's princess"

Of course the ages will be +1 before we depart.

This being our first Disney, we have a lot to learn. I need to read this whole thread and learn some of the Disney lingo - anyone know of a thread as a "Disney Primer"?

Update - just read the whole thread, looking forward to the FE activities.
Txmommy - I requested on the FB group and my name there will be pretty obvious from my name here.
Disneydork - good and bad to hear that someone else has been fighting the fibro curse. Still getting my cocktail of meds to lead a "decent day" right.

I loved the passporter book to help me understand what I needed to know before my first cruise. A lot of things on here are nice but also extras and not necessarily a good idea on a first cruise.

Hello everyone!!! ...

A little bit about us (just me and my DH...no kids...YET!) We are both in the mid-30's (33 and 34...will be 34 and 35 by the time we sail) living in South Georgia! I am a media specialist (fancy way to say librarian) in a primary school and been in education profession for 10 years now....my DH has his own cell phone business and he is his own boss! Lol I'm a HUGE Disney Fan (my DH...he likes it but not as crazy as me) and we LOVE to sail on DCL!! I just completed my Grand Slam cruise 2 weeks ago and my DH will go on his Grand Slam cruise next week!! (This will be our 5th cruise).

Hi Everyone,

Me: (41 at time of sailing) Disney freak foreva!!! (think slight boston accent) was a SAHM, just recently got a job.. yay me!!! so, now I am an Accountant again. this will be my 10th Disney cruise!!!

DH: (40 at time of sailing) AD Coast Guard, also Disney freak (though, not as big as me ).. 7th cruise

DS: (5 at time of sailing) Loves all things Cars and Disney.. oh and Pirates, LOVES pirates, (esp Jake) 5th cruise (I know.. I have an issue)

DD: (4 at time of sailing) loves all things princess... and randomly kissing people in the hallways of the ship.. (yes, this happened for real on our last cruise (10/12/13) 5th cruise (now you know I REALLY have a problem)

We are interested, my DH and I in the mixology class for sure and the FE group.!

I am on my phone now so I will add more later.
We are cruising this thanksgiving on the Wonder 2013.
2014 will be my 8th Disney and family's 7th. But 1st on the Disney Fantasy.
We have never done FEs before or much on this site.
Would love some help to find links to this info.

I have sent messages here and/or on DISboards to everyone who posted that they want to participate. I have heard back from 23 cabins worth of folks and have updated the google doc accordingly. If you have not received an email link to the google doc or cannot access it, please send me a message with your email address & I will send you a link.

As of right now, we have 23 cabins signed up. There are 24 adult women, 18 adult men, 20 girls (ages 16(x3), 13(x2), 12(x2), 11, 10(x2), 9, 7(x2), 6(x3), 5 (x2), 4, & 3) and 9 boys (ages 15, 14, 13, 9(x2), 8(x2), and 7(x2).

That's a lot of people already, so I propose we decide on a cap and start a second list soon. Of course, anyone could be on more than one list if they so choose. Let me know your thoughts in the comments. I know several have said they want to get started crafting (including myself) and need to plan their materials and budget. Also, most groups seem to choose the paid in full date as the sign-up cut-off date, so there is sufficient time left to craft or purchase gifts for the exchange.

With three DISigners on this cruise, we should could up with a pretty good mascot. Everyone seems to like Pirates and Pilgrims for our cruise name. I'm thinking a Mickey head with a Pilgrim hat and an eye patch!!!!

I didn't realize we had three DISigners! Who else DISigns? I used to do have a very active thread, but I had to take a break as it got to be too much. My link is still in my signature though as I had quite a library of images.

I just finished reading the Kingdom Keepers series by Ridley Pearson. The last 2 of 6 take place on the Disney Dream, sister ship to the Disney Fantasy, and Castaway Cay. I've had so much fun reading about behind the scenes in the Walt Disney World Parks and especially the Disney Cruise Line! Here's the website with summaries of each book in the series.

They're quick reads for adults. Our school district has them in the middle school libraries (6th-8th grades). They do talk a lot about behind the scenes and "real" characters vs CM's in costumes, so for your younger kiddos, you might want to read them first. Definitely NOT a Disney magic killer though! My sis found them all at Half-Price Books for fairly cheap, but they're sold in the Parks too.

Just thought I'd pass along the book recommendation as a way to pass the time waiting for our cruise! Can't wait to spend 7 nights on the Disney Fantasy!

Hi, I would love for my family and I to be added to the Pirates & Pilgrims Fish Extender group!! There would be four of us. I am currently pregnant with my second son but should wait to be sure he is a boy as my SIL was suppose to have a boy and was surprised with a beautiful baby girl!!!

I may have said this already, but I am all for putting an early cap on one group so I can start getting gifts ready. My last two FEs we capped around 20 cabins. That seemed like a good amount... What does everyone else think?

Hey Everyone!

Our family will be sailing on this cruise also. This will be our second time on the Fantasy - we were on Podcast Cruise 4.0. We stayed in cabin 10660 last time and loved it so much that we re-booked in the same cabin. It is a rear cabin with a HUGE deck.

All ages are as of sail date.

Dad (Scott) - 43 - Chemical Engineer, In charge of all things Disney
Mom (Amy) - 42 - Admin, Celebrating her birthday on Thanksgiving on the Ship.
Son (Lucas) - 14 - 8th Grader. Loves soccer and Xbox
Daughter (Sarah) - 11 - 5th Grader. Loves Princesses

We live in Lancaster PA.

I may have said this already, but I am all for putting an early cap on one group so I can start getting gifts ready. My last two FEs we capped around 20 cabins. That seemed like a good amount... What does everyone else think?

I'm for an early cap but not too early as we need to allow for people who might change or cancel. 20-25 cabins works for me.
