Hello!
Since we are wedding twins (yeah for 10/10/10 brides!) and both doing a Fall theme I had to chime in!
We are doing the edible centerpieces. We are actually having our ceremony at 10:30 in the morning and then having a brunch reception (cause honestly, breakfast is our favorite meal of the day!
). The base color is going to be chocolate brown, and then those beautiful fall colors are going to be our accents. I have the base idea of what we are going to do, we are going to have glass jars on the tables and fill them with green apples. Then I want to have a few votives spread out around them. This is the part I can't decide on, I'm either going to get some ribbon in a burnt orange or so to wrap around the jar a few times and have the table number affixed on that, or after the apples are in the jars I am going to fill in the empty spots in the jar with coffee beans (I thought that might be nice since we are having brunch). I'm thinking if we do the coffee idea then we will have the nice aroma, and the boquets and all will really pop next to them on the tables. I just can't decide!
But we are going to save money by doing these ourselves, and a day before the wedding so they can just be delivered to the venue.
I love the readings that you picked for your children, very sweet, and they seem to have a meaning for each child which makes it even more special.
I love your song also. That is not anything that I ever would have thought of, but reading the lyrics, its beautiful. Right now we are most likely going to be using Your Song by Elton John.
It's a little bit funny this feeling inside
I'm not one of those who can easily hide
I don't have much money but boy if I did
I'd buy a big house where we both could live.
If I was a sculptor, but then again, no
Or a man who makes potions in a travelling show
I know it's not much but it's the best I can do
My gift is my song and this one's for you.
And you can tell everybody this is your song
It may be quite simple but now that it's done
I hope you don't mind
I hope you don't mind that I put down in words
How wonderful life is while you're in the world.
I sat on the roof and kicked off the moss
Well a few of the verses well they've got me quite cross
But the sun's been quite kind while I wrote this song
It's for people like you that keep it turned on.
So excuse me forgetting but these things I do
You see I've forgotten if they're green or they're blue
Anyway the thing is what I really mean
Yours are the sweetest eyes I've ever seen.
I'm sure once you have everything figured out it will be beautiful!
