Kim if I can claim you as my twin then we're on LOL!!! I can't wait until our January trips!! I'm going to hunt you down..LOL..and give you a great big hug!!!
Ya'll are going to need to glue a picture of me onto a popsicle stick so meets so I can be in the pictures, too. (When the Diser's meet, that is....) I'm so sad that I won't be there!
Oh my goodness. Wouldn't it be funny if we all carried around little pictures of other DISsers around the "world" with us? That way, we could all be in each others pictures! Ok. That may sound a little weird...but I love my Snowbirds!
Actually, that's been done a lot, and I don't think other DISers would think it was weird at all.

I'm willing to do it all for the sake of a scrapbook and a great photo!! I'm just that crazy and just that much fun!!! To me nothing is too crazy and since I'm going alone who is there to embarrass but myself LOL!!
Jenjolt..... I totally ge the two anniversary thing... I am married to a retired military guy... he always used to tell me when I was complaining about another TDY "if the Air Force wanted me to have a wife then they would have issued me one"....whatever..........and I also get the whole birthday thing....my bday is Dec 26th.... and we were married on Valentines Day.....talk about not being able to forget.........so I have enacted what I call birth week..... just so that my darling DH doesn't try and do that combining thing... I receive a small gift everyday of birth week (except Christmas) leading up to the big gift on BIRTHDAY..... the plan has worked well... my DD now has birth week... and my sister in laws and their girls have started the tradition in their families - needless to say my brother in laws weren't to happy about it.... but we girls do need to stick together.....
I'm from the Detroit area and I also watch the Red Wings win the Stanley Cup over and over. Disney and the Red Wings are my two favorite things. I want to get married at Disney World and then have a reception for the rest of my family at Joe Louis Arena (where the Wings play for anyone who doesn't know).
Great job, can't wait to read more.
Episode 3: Youre Going To Do What? WHEN?
Hey guys! Welcome to Episode 3!!
My hubby and I are not strangers to separate vacations. For the first four years of our marriage he was owned by the United States Army. They would often send him on short deployments to Afghanistan, Fairbanks, AK, and Fort Lewis, WA for PLDC. To sum it up, he was gone a lot. During those times I would usually take a vacation home to visit family. He, as previously mentioned, enjoys hunting and fishing and while living in Alaska on the Armys dime he made the most of it!
Im blonde, but Im not that blonde! After quickly doing some math calculations I looked him straight in the face.
Me: So youll be returning on October 7th?
NDH: That sounds about right!
Me: So youll be gone over October 2nd and October 3rd?
NDH: At this point he just nodded.
Me: You mean to tell me you scheduled a hunting trip over my birthday and my anniversary?
NDH: Well, technically my father did the scheduling. (As if this was the answer to everything.)
TIMEOUT: We had reached an impasse at this point. I could do one of two things A) Get mad, cuz seriously? My birthday and my anniversary?? B) Make sure that whatever I got out of the deal was going to be seriously good. I chose B. Yelling and crying werent going to get us anywhere. I was sure by this point that he had already purchased his plane tickets, so there was no use crying over spilled milk. Option B seemed more like a compromise, and we all know marriage is about compromise. He would get to go on his hunting trip, relatively guilt free. I was going to be okay with him going on his hunting trip, completely satisfied with what I would gain from it.
Me: Well, I guess whats done is done. I take it you have thought of ways to make sure that while youre gone I will still have a good birthday and anniversary?
NDH: Of course (insert really cute sly smile, I hate that he can do that LOL), what type of husband do you take me for? (I just sort of stared at him after that.)
That is how I found out that I would be spending my birthday and anniversary without my husband. Stay tuned for Episode 4: The Gifts Begin Arriving; A Husbands Redemption!

I love birthday week!! I'll have to slowly ease that on my boyfriend....
Jen- I love your writing! You're a great storyteller. You were so sensible to make choice B lol I would have been ticked off for a while at least

This is great reading. Ok, sound nuts but I need to know how do they fly to go hunting? Here in Pa. they drive up uo the moutains. Do they rent guns when they get there.
