SHADES OF GREEN at Walt Disney World Resort Information & Questions

What are the fall discounts that folks are getting? I saw fall back and save September, but nothing for October. Also does anyone know what might be going on in Disney World that would cause SOG to be sold out for Sept 28, 29th? Thanks.
if you go to the shades of green website and scroll down you will see the discounts for Fall. We got 30% off the room and 2 free adult breakfast buffet daily. Did you call them about September, sometimes the customer service rep will have something when the website says they are booked.

It's worth a call. I booked online but the specials didn't come up. They were very helpful on the phone and adjusted my rate, even refunded a small amount to my credit card for the deposit that was already paid.

I booked our Sept stay SOG and received 2 adult breakfast complimentary and 30% off room rate. Very sweet deal
Can't wait. SOG is relaxing, good value. Best of all, patrons and staff very pleasant.

SALUTE tickets have been extended to Dec. 23. See Steve at Military Disney Tips for details. You can get 12 additional tickets until Dec 23 even if you used your 6 tickets already. Will be there myself in August.

Mini SOG review from our stay 6/15-6/19.

We got a $10/night discount on our room (3112), because its balcony was walled off. We could still sit outside, but you could only see the courtyard area if you stood up. Not a problem for us, since there was no view of Wishes from the room anyway.

Only ate at the coffee shop in the lobby and the quick service near the bus stop, but both were tasty for breakfast or a snack. Used the laundry room. and had to watch for broken machines. DH did a load in a washer that did not drain--very frustrating it was not labeled as out of order. I put money in a dryer that would not start, and had to get a refund at the front desk. Definitely cheaper doing laundry here than at YC, where we stayed earlier in the trip. Tokens were only a dollar, so very reasonable.

Room was spacious, and clean. Bathroom was huge, with plenty of room for all 5 of us to get ready every day.
Used the bus to TTC, and DHS. TTC bus is very convenient to get to monorail for resort meals at GF or Contemporary. We found it easier leaving the parks to get on Poly transportation, and walk back to SOG, however. Try to avoid the large ferry to the TTC at MK closing time. It was like we were cattle being herded on and off the boat. If the line for the small boat to Poly isn't bad, it is much nicer to go that way. :sail:

If anyone has questions that I can answer, I'm happy to do so!

Any special kids activities that I should know about at SOG? Looking for activities, crafts, etc to sign my kids up for on non park days. We will be there over Halloween so also wondering if they anything special on Halloween? TIA!

Doe SOG ticket sales offer a magic band or a voucher to go to Disney guest services to get one?

I don't know specifically about Halloween, but they do have special activities multiple times per week. The day before our stay was the Army's Birthday--there was free cake in the lobby. At the buffet during our stay was carnival night. If you were eating there it included face painting, cotton candy, and popcorn. The day we left was Father's Day, and there was some kind of art project for the kids to do.

No to magic bands, but you can use old ones you already have, or buy them (@ $13 each). Your voucher is redeemed for a ticket, which is used for park entry and FP+. Just hold it up to the Mickey reader, and it works just like a magic band. No charging to room or room key entry, though.

I have scoured this thread but still have a question on tickets, fast passes etc. I would like to stay at a Disney hotel but buy park tickets from SOG. (I am DOD so the Magic Your Way tix not salute). I see from here SOG will send me our ticket numbers 45 days out so I can make FP reservations but can I ask for earlier so I can do 60 days?
-how do you link your ticket numbers?
-if I buy our tix through shades of green, will the Disney hotel still give us Mickey bands?

I think you're confusing a couple of things here. SoG Resort and the SoG ticket office are separate. If you're staying at a Disney Property you'll need to contact the ticket office at SoG (or your nearest morale facility) to purchase tickets. Here is the number to the ticket office. In my experience if they're busy you'll get a recording.

Attraction Ticket Hotline
(407) 824-1403

Once those are linked through MDE you should be able to make 60 day fast pass choices. Guests staying at SoG only get the 30 day window which is the same as annual pass holders. The 60 day perk is for Disney Resort Guests only.

Hope this helps and if I'm mistaken, please someone correct me! It's been a couple years since I bought tickets.

Does anyone know?
We are planning a trip with a non military couple, and we're planning on sharing a room. We are arriving before them and will be at Mickeys Very Merry Christmas party when they get in. Will SoG let them on? Will they issue them a key card? Or will one of us HAVE to be there to escort them?
I've been trying to call guest services with no luck getting through so far! Thanks!

As long as they are on your reservation they should be fine and I am sure you can make arrangements with the front desk for them to pick up their room keys.

When are we required to pay for our stay at SOG is it done at check in or before check in?

I've done it both ways. I've paid when I got there and checked in and recently I've paid my balance before getting there. 19 days until I'm back!!!!

Question... :)

What time do the SoG busses start running to the parks in the morning? Just wondering because we have an early 8am (before the parks open) reservation at ak... Need to know if sog will have a bus going that early, or if we'll need to plan for time to walk to the poly and take their bus? Tia. :)

Current bus schedule link. http://www.shadesofgreen.org/mobi/bus.html

It says the buses start running 30 minutes before park opening. Have fun!!

I think I would just spend the $20 to grab a cab at 7:30 instead of being at the Poly bus stop at 7:00. Just my 2 cents.
