Your progress picture is really amazing. Actually I think you can see so much change in your face, which is an area that is probably part of your body that is least likely to show results. Your lifestyle change in your eating habits will continue to have an impact on your body and your health, even if the results are not obvious. Good for you for being able to continue your journey.
Thanks Liz... Yes, I do notice a lot of change in my face.
I know that I see a lot of things that have changed over the last several months, I just know that so many people are used to/wanting to see rapid change - including myself, and I just cannot do that anymore. It's just so hard to wrap my mind around it. The hardest part of all this is the mental battle that I constantly have to have with myself... I don't battle with the food part or being hungry - I battle with the fact that I want visible change so badly/yet I want to do this the healthy way - and I have to constantly reinforce to myself that slow is better, and no matter how small - progress is good.
The Dumbo bag is gorgeous as usual. The applique is stunning! I also wanted to say that the stitching from your embroidery machine looks really nice too. Such a fun detail you could add.
Thanks! I am very happy with my new embroidery machine... I do wish I could use it more, but then my bags wouldn't be unique if I was using digitized designs... But I am more than happy to use it for zipper pulls - it worked out quite nicely for that.
Stay warm if you head out today but I wouldn't blame you if you decided to stay home and hibernate today.
Thanks! I hope you had a nice weekend too!
D, we are still out of town, but I had to pop in and tell you how much I love the Dumbo bag. It is perfect in every way.
Thank you Kathy! I am so VERY HAPPY that you like it!
Thanks for all of your concern for us. We did get power back on Friday, but did not get cable/internet back until this morning. I was going through serious withdrawal -
I am very relieved that you have eveything back in order now!
I love the Dumbo bag - see what amazing things you can do with your new embroidery machine - the hang tag turned out great!
Thanks! It was a lot of fun to use it!
I guess when you have a beautiful teenage daughter, you have to expect the male-type friends to start hanging out.....
I know - I guess it's inevitable... I was just hoping to prolong it a bit longer... Sigh.
We haven't been able to watch any of the Olympics yet, however, we have a local girl, Summer Britcher, who is in the women's luge, so I hope we can catch some of her on tv. I don't know what the schedule is though.
Oh cool... I don't think they have started any of the luge yet... I haven't seen any, anyways. I will keep my eyes open for her.
As far as the ice storm we got on Wednesday - we had a total of 1/2 inch of ice. It is being called the 2nd worst storm of the century - so far, just behind Sandy for the amount of damage it has caused. The epicenter of the storm was over York County, so apparently we suffered the brunt of it. We are supposed to get another couple of inches of snow today. Luckily the blizzard they had predicted earlier in the week didn't happen, however it may be on the horizon for next weekend. I AM SICK OF SNOW! Luckily I have a trip in one month to look forward to
WOW! I am just so thankful that you are all safe... I sure hope that any snow you received was minimal and didn't make anymore of a mess of things.
Kat is doing well and her spirit is high as well.
This makes me happy! THanks so much for the update.
And now begins the chapter in the adventure of parents of teenaged girls titled: boys....friends and otherwise. I do not envy you at all.
Lord, help us...
They are threatening another winter event for Tuesday/Wednesday - this time with the possibility of real ice. Not GOOD. That's when we lose power.
Well, it's a couple of days away...
Have a warm safe whatever you do!
Oh no!!! You all are just getting the worst weather this year! Thankfully we haven't had too many "snow events", but the cold has been very bad here this year. Like all of you - I am NEEDING spring!
Not sure how I mssed this latest PTR...We came home from our trip in Sept and life got CRAZY so I haven't been in the DIS much....guess I have a lot of pages to catch up on!
Well - Hello there Star!!! It's been a while! I hope that even with the craziness of life, you all are doing well! Thanks so much for stopping by - it's great to see you again!
D, thanks for your wishes for Mark. He's doing a little better. He had a long night Friday and a long day Saturday with us so he was a little sore because he didn't use his cooling machine as much as he should have. He is slowly cutting back on his pain pills too.
I am glad to hear that Mark is doing better - even if it's a little slow. It's good that he is cutting back on his pills.
I hope you had a safe trip home yesterday.
Baby steps. So WA is the baby step trip and then hopefully WDW. Of course health and cooler times are something you need to look at. Trips I've taken now with my parent's I cherish just as much (if not more so) as the trips I took with them when I was a kid. I look back now and understand why we did the things we did. We didn't get the family time at home but we sure did when we were on vacation (camping,
Disneyland, road trips to Texas and Colorado to visit extended family, etc.)
Exactly! We will see how it all goes... When we go to WA - we will stay with relatives... When (If) we go to Disney, we will (obviously) have to stay in a hotel... at that point, I would have to decide if we need 1 or 2 rooms...
Glad things went well with the male friend. Not something I'm looking forward too as the kids (especially Sarah) get's older.
I suggest you delay it as long as possible.
Always nice to have a down day every now and then. We've been getting rain the last few days but we had promised Jeremy we'd go to lunch or dinner for his birthday and since we didn't go yesterday (Jeff did take him to see the
Lego Movie which they both really enjoyed) we did go out into the rain today.
I hope you enjoyed your dinner out! And I am glad to hear that Jeremy enjoyed the Lego movie...
I hope he had a wonderful birthday!

The girls and I did make it up to BFF's house yesterday... We visited for a couple hours, then we ventured out to do some shopping...
We hit Target (surprise, surprise...), Barnes n' Noble and Kohl's. I didn't buy much/anything... but it was nice to get out.
We ate lunch at Jimmy Johns... It was a bit sad to order my sandwich as an "Unwich" - Wrapped in lettuce instead of bread... but it was good. I was surprised at how salty their meat is... Either it's always that way and I've never noticed it because the bread hides it - or this was just really salty. I am pretty sure it's the former and not the latter. I've noticed that my taste buds are really sensitive these days, and I am able to really taste different elements in food...
The girls and I came home... The girls worked on their homework, and I was sloth-like in front of the TV.
Josh made a roast on the smoker yesterday - it was divine!
Today, I will be starting my next custom order. I am excited about it... It is a character I have done before - sort of - so, it will be fun.
I hope you all have a wonderful day today... prayers go out to Nini and her family - she is safely on the road headed towards WDW, and everyone else who needs them.
