Second star to the right and straight on til morning *TR Started*

Okay, I am starting to feel better about this trip. I have rearranged our plans for some days to better accommodate the behaviors I saw last week and to try and head off any potential meltdown makers before they start. Now there is literally nothing to do but wait and then pack. I feel lost with nothing to plan so, I decided to take a page from gracefullyskinny and Dugette and post our finalized plans. I am shooting for a post a day for the week we will be gone. It will probably be a little dry but, it will keep me busy for the time being. Why do the last weeks have to drag by so slowly? In other news, I got Mickey Mail today :cool1:. Our TA sent us a package with our luggage tags and package booklet. She also included park maps, little board books for each kid, a coloring book, WDW growth chart, and Hidden Mickey book. It was so unexpected but I am so thankful I have used a TA.

Travel days

We will technically have two travel days even though we are flying. On Friday, May 8 we will leave after Joe gets off of work. Hopefully, he can scoot out a little early at 4. We will drive the hour down to Grand Rapids and stop and get dinner there. This is our tradition whenever we drive to IL (which is a lot) because we don't have many food options in our little town. I will most definitely be getting Chipotle, yum! After dinner, we will have another 3 or so hours until we get to Chicago. We have booked a room at the Holiday Inn Express near the airport. It provides parking for up to 14 days and has a free shuttle. We did this last week for Texas and it worked out nicely. The boys will be hard to get to bed after a long car ride but hopefully they will cooperate.

Saturday, I would like to have to boys sleep until 7 (8 east coast time) if possible and go down to eat breakfast. A continental breakfast is also included so that will be a nice way to start the day. We will take the 8am shuttle to Midway Airport and hopefully have enough time get through security and grab some food before our 10:20 flight. We will be keeping the boys on East Coast time wince we will only be in Central for a little over 12 hours. I plan to buy lunch, probably Potbelly, to eat on the plane. I have ipads and coloring books for the boys and will also pack some goldfish and m&ms for the flight. The flight is always the thing I stress out about the most but, this will be our 3rd round trip flight this year and every time they have all done great. Let's hope this trend continues.

Barring any delays we should arrive at MCO at 2:00. I have given us two hours to get from the airport to CBR. We have rented a minivan and I decided we will all ride together. I was thinking about taking DME and having Joe take the rental that way Disney can handle the luggage but, I would really like us all to arrive together and James will most likely have a meltdown if he is separated from either one of us :faint:. It's better to just do it this way and thankfully we are with Alamo so, it is just a short walk over to the car. We should have a text about our room and be able to go straight to it. I want to unpack and get everything set up for our home for the next seven nights. Possibly put James or Nicholas down for a nap if they need it. We will have dinner at Old Port Royale, they have those cute sand bucket meals for the kids so I think we will get that. After, dinner we will drive to MK. I know it is not recommended to drive here but I want to avoid the long lines and crowded buses after wishes even if it means a longer commute.

My goal is to be inside MK by 7. Connor told me a long time ago that he was disappointed James and I met Donald at MK without him while he rode the Barnstomer (even though he did meet Donald at Chef Mickey's :confused3). He said this was his must do m&g and it had to be the first one. So we will head right back to the Donald and Goofy m&g and possibly ride Dumbo, I have always wanted to do this one at night. We have a FP+ for talking Mickey. Last time we did this twice because I thought it was so awesome but the boys were a little freaked out by talking Mickey, we'll see how they do this time. We will grab some ice cream at the Plaza Ice Cream parlor and then find our seats for the MSEP with our FPs. I got the boys some glow sticks and light up toys that Tinkerbell will give them. After MSEP will find our spots for Wishes in the FP area. We will leave right after Wishes since we have an early morning the next day.

I just have to say that those "judgy eyes" is the reason we go to Disney. When we had our first son we would just go to the same places we used to go and we'd get those eyes that you're talking about. I am so happy that we decided to try Disney because I never felt that at Disney. We definitely had the meltdowns and the same frustrations but I never felt like I was being judged at Disney. Just my $.02. :)
Thank you, your two cents has eased my fears greatly.

Wow. That's a nice little bonus from your TA going a little bit above and beyond to give you a little bit of extra pre-Disney magic in your Mickey mail.

A continental breakfast is also included so that will be a nice way to start the day.
Holiday Inn Express cinnamon rolls. Very much pre-packaged and plain looking, yet I can never resist them and can't stop with one.

After, dinner we will drive to MK. I know it is not recommended to drive here but I want to avoid the long lines and crowded buses after wishes even if it means a longer commute.
I can't argue against driving. I hate driving to the MK in the evening just because you know you're going to be parking a long way out in the lot and I tend to avoid the parking lot trams at all costs with the stroller. But the couple of times we took the bus to MK, it took forever to get out of there in the evening. I guess what it comes down to is that I won't judge. I really don't think there is a "good" option to use. Typically whichever method of transportation I'd choose would be the worst possible thing to do at that time.

I love the plans for the first day! We always drive to the Parks. We tried the buses during our trip in November 2012 and it was not a great experience, but we did have a 10 month old and a 6 year old so that was a bit tough with all the stuff you have to take along with you when you have kiddos at that age. I'm also one of those silly folks that enjoy the tram ride from the parking lot...it just builds on my excitement! :) I talked to my DH about using the buses this trip, but since we will have the rental car we will probably end up driving.

It was so nice and completely above and beyond.

So glad I am not the only one. My DH thinks I'm crazy but, I love them.

I completely agree, MK is such a PITA to get to, no matter how you do it. I can just envision us at the end of the night with three sleeping kids, one double stroller & one single stroller, and only two parents with two sets of arms and then having to stand on the bus :faint:. Tram seems to be the lesser of two evils and who knows maybe we'll get lucky and park close enough to not need the tram :rotfl2:.

You're right trams do build the excitement. Last year we only took the tram one time in 6 days, we were always just lucky enough to get a close spot, maybe luck will be with us again.

23 days until Disney!!! The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh was the 23rd animated feature film for Disney.

I thought I would include our countdown in my daily posts. I just cashed in the last of my swagbucks and just need to wait for them to be credited so I can buy the last of my Disney giftcards. I am hoping to be able to use only giftcards for the expenses at Disney so, hopefully I have stocked up enough.

Day 2- Magic Kingdom (Mother's Day)
Normally on Mother's Day, I would sleep in and Joe would bring me coffee in bed, I would laze around all day and then we would go out to dinner. This Mother's day will be very different and I hope better. As I stated in a previous post, I am the opposite of a morning person but, at Disney I become one. Even when I was 5 months pregnant and on average sleeping 12 hours a day, I was getting up before my alarm and not taking naps while at Disney. This day I hope to be up by latest 6am. This will give me time to get ready and go to Old Port Royale for some coffee. I will have to nurse Nicholas at 6:30 while Joe gets the boys up and moving for the day. The boys will wear their princess protection agency shirts I made.

I am not sure if we will take the bus or the van this day, we'll just have to see how we feel. I will also have Tinkerbell gifts for the boys. I think giving them in the morning will be better than at night in case the fall asleep on the way back to CBR. By the way, I got everything for the Tinkerbell gifts, save a few outliers, from the dollar section at Target or at Dollar Tree.

Magic Kingdom opens at 9 but, we have a pre-rope drop breakfast at The Crystal Palace (Oh hey I just realized this actually goes with my countdown :-)). I am very excited about this as I have heard good things about this breakfast and I love Winnie the Pooh. Hopefully, we will be out of there and on to BTMRR by 9. We will get a riderswap which I will use later with Connor. At this point Nicholas will probably need a nap so I hope to find a quiet, out of the way place to nurse him without having to go back to the baby center otherwise he will get a bottle. I hate nursing in public and he hates a cover so I think we will probably go the bottle route. After, BTMRR Joe and Connor will do Splash again with me getting a riderswap for later. After these rides, we will hit PotC and Jungle Cruise and possibly the Aladdin m&g.

This should take us to about 10:45 where we have a FP+ for Buzz, then MILF, and then lunch at Cosmic Rays since it is right there. We will finish out the afternoon with Space for Joe and Connor, the speedway with riderswap, and the Barnstormer. Hopefully, we can be out of MK by 12:30. we will spend the rest of the afternoon resting and swimming until our 5:00 ADR at 1900 Park Fare. I am very much looking forward to the interactions with the characters here and to see how the boys react.

After dinner Connor and I will say goodbye to the others (crossing our fingers for no tantrum from James) and we will head to MK. Joe will get the boys bathed and in bed. Connor and I will do the rides I have a swap pass for; BTMRR and Splash. Connor has said repeatedly that he did not want to do HM and I resigned myself to skipping it this trip. However, he has since changed his mind and wants tot try it so we will do this then. We have a FP+ for SDMT we will use at 8 and then our final swap pass to do Space. At this point if we have time we will do my favorite, the TTA or just head over to the dessert party. One of the people in my May Facebook groups will be there so hopefully I can say hello. Not a DISmeet but still pretty cool. After the dessert party we will ride whatever to let the crowd dissipate before we leave. That should end our magical first day at WDW.

Good luck! I know it is hard to find an out of the way place, but hopefully that early in the morning you'll be able to . Just don't sit on a bench next to a stranger to nurse. :rolleyes1

It looks like a long, fun filled day for you! I hope that everything works out and you can pull off the switch and send the younger ones back to the room after dinner without any meltdowns.

Love all the goodies from the TA! And I agree on the Tinkerbell gifts for first thing in the morning. It gets their day off excited! (That's a good thing right?!) I enjoyed Crystal Palace when we went (it was a long time ago and for lunch)...the character interaction was really great here.

Are you saying I shouldn't flash unsuspecting people that are waiting for their family to ride BTMRR:rotfl2:?? In all seriousness, I probably would have delayed this trip had I know I would have to be nursing. The older two were only nursing three-four times a day and I thought Nicholas would follow suit and I could easily handle that back at the hotel. Oh well, must make due with my situation as it stands now.

At least they will be getting right in the car so, if a meltdown does occur only Joe has to deal with it :rotfl:.

Good, I wasn't sure if the morning would be better but, I don't see another way to do it. We ate there for dinner last year and I was less than impressed with the food but, the character interaction was great.

22 Days until Disney!!! 22 Goodbye signs at the end of It's a Small World (I didn't fact check this but saw it somewhere and went with it :D)

Day 3- Animal Kingdom/Epcot/Downtown Disney
This day has probably changed the most after I witnessed what the boys could handle last week. They can only go until about 11-12 no matter what time we get going so, we decided to go with their normal schedule and eat at Kona earlier. We will once again have an earlier morning much like the day before.

Our Kona ADR is at 7:30 and I am so excited for this. Tonga Toast and a Kona Blend french press :goodvibes. With our earlier ADR we will be able to make it to Animal Kingdom for rope drop. Right now, I don't have my fastpasses and won't be able to get them for this park until I get down there. Hopefully, I can secure one for KS 9-10, EE 10-11, and Mickey and Minnie M&G 11-12. We will rd EE and riderswap so both Joe and I can ride. Then we will ride KS and finish out with FotLK. If the boys are doing okay will use our last two fastpasses and be out of AK by11:30. It actually really pains me to leave this early but, it is just what is going to work best for us this time. I expect James and Nicholas to fall asleep as we drive over to Epcot. We will have them sleep for an hour even if that means aimlessly driving around on property or sitting in the Epcot parking lot.
Since, the WS doesn't open until 11 and we need to be leaving parks by 12 each day, this doesn't leave a lot of time for F&G. For this reason, we will be going to Epcot this day, the boys will have had a nice nap and be ready to eat and play. We will check out the topiaries, the food booths, and the play areas in one half of the WS. We will start at the American Adventure so the boys can get chicken nuggets or whatever :crazy2:. We will go to the Smokehouse booth in America , Hanami in Japan, Taste of Marrakesh & Botanas Botanico in Morocco, and Fluer de Lys in France. Now get ready to rool as I post pictures, courtesy of Disney Food Blog of what we plan to eat.

Hopefully, with this nice nap under their belts we can enjoy the F&G festival for an hour-hour and a half. We should be back to the room by three for another nap and a swim before we hit DTD for the night. We will take the bus for this since the construction is still pretty bad. We will have dinner at Wolfgang Puck Express, do the build a droid at once upon a toy, check of World of Disney, and the Lego Store. Should be an early night so we can hit Epcot the next day for EMH:thumbsup2.

I finally made it over here and fully caught up! :cool1:

Love hearing about all your plans. Great choices on the F&G food! Look forward to possibly seeing you guys at the Chewie meet! :goodvibes

Great plans! I'm not going to know how to act on my upcoming trip without having to plan around the kids. I know I'm going to miss them, but I am looking forward to the time with my husband. ;)

I decided to take a page from gracefulskinny and Dugette and post our finalized plans.
It does seem to be rather nice for ordering your thoughts and keeping away the twiddling of thumbs between the final planning and being able to really start packing.

::yes:: I know! :surfweb:
:cheer2: Wow that's quite the stash from the TA!

After, dinner we will drive to MK. I know it is not recommended to drive here but I want to avoid the long lines and crowded buses after wishes even if it means a longer commute.
As long as you remember that you will still stand in long lines to get to either a ferry or a monorail and then a tram before you get to your car. Its totally a what feels right to you kinda thing but I would rather not have to transition mulitple times.

Last time we did this twice because I thought it was so awesome but the boys were a little freaked out by talking Mickey
I'm slightly worried about that with Little MIss. Especially since he will be her first in park character interaction.

At this point if we have time we will do my favorite, the TTA or just head over to the dessert party.
We may find ourselves crossing paths a few times.

Just don't sit on a bench next to a stranger to nurse. :rolleyes1
:rotfl::lmao:

Mickey and Minnie M&G 11-12.
If you manage to get this We may bump into each other again. Our Mickey FP is for 11:20am!

YOur plans look good! And who knows maybe the kids will surprise you!

:welcome: Thanks for coming by. I am really excited to try all the different food and breaking it up into two afternoons should mean we can try everything on our list without completely stuffing ourselves. I will definitely keep an eye for you guys that day. Who knows, if the line is super crazy maybe James and Izzie could entertain each other, they are only 1 month apart.

Great plans! I'm not going to know how to act on my upcoming trip without having to plan around the kids. I know I'm going to miss them, but I am looking forward to the time with my husband. ;)
Oh you guys are going to love it. Just take out everything that slows you down and voila, no kids touring plan ;).

It does seem to be rather nice for ordering your thoughts and keeping away the twiddling of thumbs between the final planning and being able to really start packing.
I agree, I need to keep busy somehow.

I'm slightly worried about that with Little MIss. Especially since he will be her first in park character interaction.
I wouldn't be too worried. They weren't scared of him and I think the talking actually made them less scared of a huge furry character (he was our first m&g too) since his voice was more familiar to them then his size. But, they did not know how to react to him whereas all the characters they were happy to interact with. Still made for some great memories, James (in one of his only cranky moments from that trip) didn't want to be put down to take a picture with Mickey so he throws himself on the floor and before we can do anything Mickey gets down with him resulting in this picture.

If you manage to get this We may bump into each other again. Our Mickey FP is for 11:20am!
That's awesome, I'll keep a look out for you (we both know what our kids will be wearing ;))

YOur plans look good! And who knows maybe the kids will surprise you!
I certainly hope so

21 days until Disney!! 21 the number of fastpasses we each for our trip.

Thanks to reading Dugette's PTR I found out that possibly something new will be added to SWW. I went over to the SWW thread and saw that I had missed 60 pages in the last week :faint:. Due to some really bad insomnia and a cold that is hampering my ability to get a god night's sleep, I was able to read/skim the thread last night. It has brought up some serious concerns for our SWW which sucks but, I will get into that when I write up that day.

Day 4 Plans

This day will start off much the same, early wake up to get ready for EMH at Epcot. For the days we don’t have a breakfast ADR, I plan on having cereal for the boys. I don’t want to have to go off property to shop and the Garden Grocer prices are a little steep so, I am planning on bringing all our food items from home. I had read a post on WDW prep school about packing food in carry-ons so we will try that out this trip although, nothing too crazy. I plan to have one suitcase pretty much dedicated to food, diapers, and other items we won’t be bringing home which will allow us to have a near empty suitcase for souvenirs. Here are our Tinkerbell gifts and shirts for the boys for this day.

We are planning to RD Test Track. Joe and Connor will ride and hopefully I can get a riderswap to ride later on. If not, I will go right after them with Connor. My plan was to hang out in the exit area of the ride and play the games or let the boys check out the cars. However, I think leaving this area might cause a tantrum so, I am unsure about what to do. Maybe we will just wander around, I think there might be a few topiaries near the front of the park. Next we will do Spaceship Earth and Living with the Land and that will round out the EMH. Depending on Nicholas’ mood we will do Finding Nemo and then Joe will take the older boys to do Turtle Talk. I will take Nicholas to the baby care center to feed him and get him down for a nap. We will meet up after so I can do Test Track if I was able to secure a riderswap. We will end our tour of FW with Figment and possibly a stop at Club Cool.

At this point, we will head over to the WS to do the second half of it. If I was successful at getting Nicholas to sleep we should have 1 ½ to check things out. We will hit the food booths in Mexico, China, Germany, Italy, and American Adventure.

We should be out of Epcot by 12:30 for our afternoon nap/swim. We will head to DHS at 4 for our first FP of the day to be used at Disney Junior. After that, I have a FP for ToT, this is my favorite ride at WDW and I can’t wait to be able to do it again. We will get a riderswap for Joe to go and hopefully have it planned perfectly to be able to do Characterpalooza at 5:45. Joe also has a FP+ for Star Tours but we may just skip it because we can go on it another day. Our Jedi Mickey dinner ADR is at 6:15. We will all be wearing these shirts:

I am so excited about this dinner. I think the boys will have a lot of fun and the desserts look yummy too. After dinner, I have a FP+ for TSMM and then we will head over to watch F! in the dinner package section. I am not sure how the boys will do for this so, I plan to be has high up and as close to an aisle as possible so we can make a quick escape of necessary. That will wrap our 4th day:banana:.

I don’t want to have to go off property to shop and the Garden Grocer prices are a little steep so, I am planning on bringing all our food items from home
another solution is to order from amazon or target.com. the shipping cost should be lower than the checked bag.

20 days until Disney!! Ariel has 20 thingamabobs

This stupid cold is still kicking my butt and now I see snow:cold: on the forecast for three days next week :sad2:. I just put all the winter stuff away :headache:. I can't wait for that warm Florida weather.

Day 5
We will continue the theme of an early wake up call to make it DHS for EMH. I didn’t make shirts for the boys this day but I did by them news ones when Disneystore.com had a sale (I couldn’t find a picture of James’)

We will spend the first part of EMH signing Connor up for JTA. There is really only time that would work with my preexisting FPs and ADR so hopefully, I will be able to get him into that time. I am hoping this only takes 30 minutes that way we each have enough time to ride RnR before the end of EMH. We will then head over to Pixar Place for a M&G with Buzz and Woody at 9. This was one of my favorite M&G last year because they were so fun and spent a lot of time with the boys. After this, we will use our FP for TSMM. At this point, I am not sure what to do. The Baymax M&G starts at 10:30, it will probably only be 9:30 by this point and that means an hour to wait for Baymax. I know they really want to meet him and Hiro but, I am not sure they will be able to wait an hour to do so. I have considered bringing out the iPads to make the wait more bearable but I really hate the idea of this. I don’t let the boys play with electronics except for special occasions and for traveling. I really liked last time having our WDW trip with little distractions from our electronics with the exception of using them for planning purposes. I will have coloring books and stickers that they have gotten from Tinkerbell and some snacks but, I guess we will have to see how it goes. Nicholas will get a bottle while in line and should fall asleep for his nap.

If all goes well, we should be one of the first families to meet Baymax and be done by 10:30. This will give us enough time to do Muppets (a first for us) and Star Tours with a riderswap. Connor will hopefully be in the 11:50 JTA so we will drop him off at 11:20 and hang around to wait for the show. After JTA, we have our 12:15 ADR at Hollywood & Vine. If I was able to get Nicholas down during the Baymax wait this meal should be fine but, if I was unsuccessful, well it won’t be fun. Connor specifically asked last year to be able to dress in his Jake costume from Halloween. He looked so cute and loved looking like Jake. I wasn’t planning on having any one dress up this year since I only had one costume. I didn’t really want to spend the money for something they would only wear for about an hour. But then, I thought about it:scratchin. If I had a girl, I know 100% I would drop the cash to have her dress like a princess so why shouldn’t it be the same for my boys. Luckily, I was able to get one on sale at Disneystore.com.

After our lunch, I have our last FP for the Frozen sing-a-long. I originally had this scheduled at 10 but I know the boys would rather meet Baymax over the sing-a-long. I am not sure if time wise or behavior wise we will be able to do this one. More than likely we will have to skip it. We will head back to CBR for our usual nap and swim. Now, the plan was to head to Epcot around six for dinner and Illuminations but, I don’t think that will happen. At this point, I think we will all be pretty wiped out and I don’t think it is a good idea to push us more. I will really asses how everyone is doing and make our decision then but, I early night sounds nice.

Hi! Just found this report today and I loved reading all the planned details of your trip. I hope this isn't repeating a question...but do you mind sharing what apps you are using to help earn the money for your trip? I use swagbucks but I would love to learn about others! TIA

I plan on having cereal for the boys. I don’t want to have to go off property to shop and the Garden Grocer prices are a little steep so, I am planning on bringing all our food items from home.
I did this on some trips before we had Izzy. Just brought a gallon sized ziplock full of cereal and milk can be easily obtained at the resorts. I don't remember where I got the bowl and spoon? Maybe brought some disposable ones? Worked great, though.

My plan was to hang out in the exit area of the ride and play the games or let the boys check out the cars. However, I think leaving this area might cause a tantrum so, I am unsure about what to do.
Izzy really loved playing in the real cars inside the showroom. :car:

planned perfectly to be able to do Characterpalooza at 5:45.
Thank you for this reminder! I'll be in DHS enough that I should look into doing this - maybe when Dug's seeing all his package shows. :scratchin

I am so excited about this dinner. I think the boys will have a lot of fun and the desserts look yummy too. After dinner, I have a FP+ for TSMM and then we will head over to watch F! in the dinner package section.
That sounds like a really fun evening! I hope they do well for Fantasmic - I have heard the dinner package seats are really good, but not sure what the exit situation is like.

This stupid cold is still kicking my butt and now I see snow:cold: on the forecast for three days next week :sad2:.
I'm sorry on both counts! :sad2:

At this point, I am not sure what to do. The Baymax M&G starts at 10:30, it will probably only be 9:30 by this point and that means an hour to wait for Baymax. I know they really want to meet him and Hiro but, I am not sure they will be able to wait an hour to do so.
I am really glad that Izzy is young enough to (hopefully) not mind us skipping the Baymax/Hiro meet. She has seen the movie (twice) and enjoyed it, but I can't imagine waiting that long for a meet. I hope you can find something to keep your guys entertained. Maybe coloring or a new toy? Or having them help you write up a trip journal so far with their favorite memories and such? Just brainstorming...

Cute clothes/costume, by the way! :thumbsup2
