You can check in when you get there for your passes, but the room won't be ready if you want to actually go to it. The travel agent told me that people from cruises do this all of the time, so Atlantis expects you early.
Mom24Princesses said:A few of questions then,
How much were the taxis? (water or van?)
How long does it take to get there?
We're a family of six. Would we ba able to do this requesting one room - everyone will want arm bands to PLAY?

It takes 10 or 15 mins to get there
They will only give you 4 wrist bands per room.
cjsmith said:If you book a "day room" at the Atlantis you can have up to 5 wristbands. If you book a room ahead of time at the Atlantis or Comfort Suites you can only have 4 wristbands.
cjsmith said:Atlantis may expect you early, but chances are you won't get access to your room until regular check in time unless you wait and book a day room the day you arrive. Plus, remember when you do the room ahead of time you also have to pay all those extra charges on top of it.
If you wait and book a day room, (though you are taking a risk during high travel seasons) then your room is ready for you the moment you arrive in the morning and you just have to vacate by 6:00 PM. We actually used our rooms and showered in them prior to returning to the ship.

I called the number and spoke to someone at the front desk and asked about a "day room." I asked her if a room was available for my time of travel in September if I could get a day room for my family of 5. She said I would have to get 2 rooms. She also said there was a set price of $200, no matter what time of year. I feel like I'm talking to one of those WDW CMs who may or may not be "in the loop." I know that I've read of families of 5 getting one room, and I know I've read of lower rates for a day room. But based on that info and not wanting to risk it, I think I'll also book ahead at the Comfort Suites for my travel date ($120/room/night + tax and surcharges).
