Hellllooooo Everyone! I know that updates have been a little ummm...non-existent (is that word I'm looking for?) lately. I'm finding it very hard to sit down and write about Disney food without getting (1) extremely hungry and (2) very sad. Hungry because...well does that really need an explanation? And sad because according to my Phunware Disney
Undercover Tourist app I am currently 1,528,498 yds away from Tusker House. Not exactly a convenient location
But in other, more pleasant, Real World news one of the reasons I've been unable to update is because the past few weekends I've travelled to both TN and IL for this guy's birthday! He's getting to be a such a big boy
I think Emily and I may have mentioned that Rick is an avid hunter, so his Mom ordered this awesome cake for his birthday. You can't really see the top of the cake, but it has a Browning logo (for you non-hunters or non-hunter's girlfriends/wives Browning is a gun/outdoor clothing manufacturer) along with some fall leaves. The cake was really beautiful (and this is coming from a girl who has seen her fair share of Camouflage Wedding cakes
...i kid you not). The designer did a great job of making a hunting theme aesthetically pleasing...and it tasted GREAT!
One of the great parts of visiting Rick while he is in TN is that I get to see his whole family, including Minnie_Mom! We had a great weekend of shopping, eating, talking about shopping at Disney, talking about eating at Disney, talking about what we're going to wear to Disney...we're not obsessed..
... But we ALSO hauled ourselves out of bed early Saturday morning and participated in a 5K run. Well..most of us did, the birthday boy chose not to participate (I think he was afraid of losing to a girl..). We had a great time, we brought home 2 medals AND it's possible you guys may see a Princess Half Dining Report in the future
!
Speaking of Dining Reports...I should start talking about some Disney Food...right?
Our Day 3 plans start out bright and early with an 8:00 am reservation at....TUSKER HOUSE
! Well..actually mine and Rick's res is at 8:25, but the rest of the group is at 8:00, so we're going early and hoping for a little luck in getting seated together
if it doesn't work out no worries because we're at TUSKER HOUSE
!
Tusker House is my favorite restaurant at Disney...not because of the food (although I do LOVE the food)...and not because of the atmosphere (although I do LOVE the atmosphere)...I love Tusker House because it's the first time I ever met....
Rick! Just kidding...I knew him for like 3 days before our trip... it's the first place I met
MICKEY MOUSE!!! I cannot describe how I excited and overwhelmed I became when I first hugged Mickey. I'm pretty sure that Rick and Emily's Dad even caught me tearing up a little bit. It was just unexplainable, one of the best feelings in the world (I felt a lot better when my sister had the same reaction when I brought her to WDW in January). Sidebar: Would someone please explain my outfit? I actually woke up in the morning and intentionally (apparently
) put on a button down shirt and bright green plaid running shorts...I swear I wasn't drinking or self medicating...so I'm going to blame sleep deprivation and...no...I have no other excuses.
Lunch plans for this Day are still a little up in the air. Originally I was DETERMINED to eat at Yak and Yeti at least once on this trip. I've never eaten there before and it kind of became an obsession. Turns out, I was just craving Chinese food in general, so I travelled down to the good ol' China Star (a local eatery), helped myself to some Moo-Goo Gai Pan and a little Sesame Chicken and guess what? Obsession over. So while I still have a reservation for Y&Y, I think I would rather spend that time with the rest of the group at Art of Animation Food Court, or DTD. If everyone else decides to do Flame Tree I may do Y&Y as a CS (we eat a lot of Flame Tree type cuisine her in the 'Homa, so I don't think I'll be missing too much).
Has anyone tried the Art of Animation Food Court? Any favorites yet?
Rick and I will be wrapping up the dining day here

at the Cape May Clam Bake. This is another new place for both of us. We plan on spending most of the evening at Epcot then walking over for dinner. We both LOVE seafood, and even though I've read iffy reviews, we're excited about the crab legs. I've also heard that the Oreo Bon Bons are not on the menu, but if you ask for them they will make them
has anyone had any luck with this? I've never tried them, but they look amazing!

What are your "must eat" foods at the Clam Bake?
I'm also really excited to explore the Beach Club. This is where Beaches and Cream is, right? Of course we'll probably be STUFFED from the buffet...but my stomach has this amazing ability to always make room for ice cream...i don't know...must be magic
Any can't miss spots that we need to check out while at The Beach Club?
