Discovered something new. mugs bought in parks for 5 dollars are refillable at resorts. Great deal
As in that's what they're for, or you were just able to get away with it?

They were able to get away with it.
I am shocked at how Dead it is considering it is Fourth of July week!!!
I am curious about the 60 percent off... That sounds awesome!!

bartleyosu said:I was told by Disney cashier when I bought the mug "it is only refillable at your resort"- end quote. If I wanted to get away with it I would have brought one of the ten that I have at home with me. Lol. Maybe she told me bad info but I refilled right in front of dp at Pop snd was not told any different. Can anyone confirm?
I have a question.....
Do they play movies outside in the evening? If so, what location?
I have a preferred room booked, but I would like to avoid being right by the movie.
Movies are shown on the lawn right outside Classic Hall between the Hippy Dippy Pool and the Goofy (what used to be) Jets area, right by the yo-yo.
We fully intend to bring a bottle, or 2, to unwind after a long and fun day at the parks. DH and I will enjoy it after the kids pass out.
Thank you! I'm sure it will....so far it already has. I am like a kid though trying to contain my excitement. Lol
We are a party of 5 & booked 2 rooms. Requested lake view 50's.
So I am ended up at POP for a few days...I am shocked at how Dead it is considering it is Fourth of July week!!!
I was able to book a room last minute (like as in to check in the next day!!) with a great discount (60% off)!!! The food court has been empty when I've gone there to refill my mug. The one section that makes the nachos wasn't even operational two days (don't know about today?) And when I called and requested to extend my stay by a day it wasn't a problem at all!!! Didn't have to change rooms or anythig!! They even gave me my same great discounted room rate! Waahoo!
Saw something interesting tonite though. I'm in bldg 1. when we got back to the hotel around midnight, there were two Orange co sheriff cars & 4 officers in front of our bldg with a gentleman. Shortly thereafter, a third showed up. After that they started taking pics of a guy...his face from the front and profile pics. They were here for probably at least an hour and a half. But anyway...it was very interesting to wonder was going on!!!
My daughter just got back Saturday after a week at POP and she said the same thing. She said the hotel seemed about 1/2 full, she visited AoA and said it seemed the same. She said her and DH would go to the parks at rope drop, leave about 2 and come back to a different park around 5 or 6pm. She said on even the big ticket items, they were able ride them 3-4 times each with little (15 min max) or no wait at every park (eventhough touring plans showed 9's every day or their trip)
They were there for 6 days/5 nights and on the last day they didn't even go to a park, just hung out at DTD since they had been to every park 3 times each. She said they have never had so much relaxation/hotel time on any of their past Disney World trips but they LOVED it!
How deep are the pools. I am thinking of my husband being able to get his swim laps in. Computer pool being best? No real weird shape and easy to measure.
Truly we love POP, it really gives you the Disney feeling being there. We aren't fancy people and we aren't in the room enough to justify the additional cost. Plus with AoA just across the lake it is fun to go over there and emerse yourself in the giant movie sets. We have stayed at POP our past 7 trips, prior to that we have stayed at CBR, CSR, ASsp, ASmo. We have not ever stayed anything above moderate. POP is our Disney home away from home and it has always been a great experience for us whether we take our grandkids or it's just the 2 of us!
We have stayed deluxe and moderate and find pop to be our home as well. I don't really care about the room as long as it is clean. This will be our 5th year in a row. I really have no desire to do the RDP it is to complicated for our touring style. We like to wing it. I do like a couple of TS meals but we just pay OP for a couple still works out to be cheaper than tips.
Yes, we love the POP We also are not fancy people. We also love AKL and will be there in January. The POP is Disney fun to us. We have stayed there before without kids and we had a great time! We are really really hoping for a king bed. I will ask when we check in if our room has one, and if not I will see if they have any available. It is DH birthday on check in day, so we are so excited to be there.
We're also not fancy people and just love Pop. With the money we save on accommodations, we can have nicer meals. (Our upcoming trip is to celebrate DD's graduation, so we're splurging a bit and staying at BWI, but I consider Pop our "go to" resort.)
We love POP too..it's just a great fun place!
Sandi, your BWI trip will be awesome!! What a special time for you and DD
Hoping that one of these days our trips will cross paths again!
POP is the only place our DD or myself will go to. My DD doesn't think that any if the mods or deluxes' look like Disney. We always stay in the '50's area.
Can't wait till Nov 17th to check in. Only 136 lonnngggg days to wait.
We just got back from 9 nights at Pop and I hate to say it but I really was disappointed.
We stayed there before and liked it but this time it felt very understaffed in the food court. No matter what time we were there each counter had long lines with normally only two people working the counter- and you had to wait quite a while for your food. We also felt it wasn't consistent. We ordered the same things at different times and each time was different. We may have noticed this more though because we were on the QS plan so we ate a lot of counter service.
Our housekeeping was also very inconsistent. The first few days it was great and one day we even got a note from our housekeeper thanking us for being so generous. (that was kind of weird but sweet also) But then there were days we didn't even get one soap or shampoo in either of our rooms? (we had connecting rooms)
I did want to throw in some good as well though---we met some really nice cast members and my DD really liked the kiddie pool.
Planning a trip back to pop for nov 29 - dec 5 2014. It will be our second stay there.
