I saw the chatter in the Swagbucks thread and thought I would start us off. I have only been trying PerkTV for a few weeks with just 2 devices. I have made about $10, not the hundreds that people were saying. How many devices are people running? What are you running? I have been doing app trailers. Is there something like favorites can do that makes things run faster or something that earns more money? I'm not really interested in babysitting anything, just would like mostly passive income. Would love to learn more.

Perk is more than just the Perk TV app. They have several other apps and all of them can be run from smart devices. Plus there's Perk Screen, Perk TV Live! (not the same as Perk TV), Perk Pop Quiz, Perk Word Search, Perk Prize Mob, Perk Search and Win, Perk Shopping, Perk Scratch & Win and Perk Wallet. Perk TV, Pop Quiz and TV Live! are relatively passive but you can earn more if you interact with them.

You can run videos on Perk .tv on your PC or laptop.

And they also have shopping and search rewards just like similar rewards programs.

So what is your typical interaction with Perk? Which apps do you run? Do you interact with them? How many devices are you running and what types? How many devices do you think you need to make a decent amount? I have 2 right now, but could probably add another one. I also have been watching out for some sales to add another 1 or 2 devices cheaply.

I am very passive as well. I try to earn $25 or a little more each month. I run 2 phones sporadically and do perk.tv on my computer while doing other things. The phones I run, I do on the perk tv app.

I have 14 devices that run Perk apps all of the time: 5 Perk TV, 5 Pop Quiz and 4 TV Live!. Some are old Apple devices, the rest are androids. I haven't purchased any devices. They were either sitting in a drawer or given to me by family members.

In the weeks leading up to Christmas, I was making $125-$150 per week with Perk. Since the new year, they have reduced the points per ad view back to their regular level. So far this month, I've been getting around $75/week.

Pop Quiz and TV run pretty well passively with just the minimal amount of interaction. Answering trivia questions on Pop or hitting "watch next" on TV will increase you earnings. I run the app trailers on TV. They seem to be the quickest. Putting Pop Quiz in lightning mode makes the questions run faster. Live! seems to take more babysitting but it pays 2 points per ad view compared to Pop Quiz, which pays only 1 point if left unattended.

Pretty much every app needs to be reset or closed and re-opened on a regular basis.

It's a good idea to set TV to low bandwidth so that you don't interfere too much with internet use by anyone else in the household. Oh, and check to make sure that your internet provider doesn't have any caps on your usage.

Ok so really just hearing about perk. What do you get for running the apps?

Anyone know of any cheap deals to get smart phones to use to run the apps. Thanks

That is a lot of devices. It seems that I would need a lot more running to earn a greater amount. I could add two more devices to my farm, since I have a iphone 3gs and an iphone 4s laying around. I do have two other phones, some cheap tracfones that I run Swagbucks apps on, but perk won't run on them when I download and try to run it.

How do you set the apps to low bandwidth mode?

I run Perk TV on my ipad during the day & on my phone too in the evening. I use the Perk Trivia when I am stuck in line or whatever to pass the time. I took a break from running Perk TV for a while. I have no clue how much I earn per month.

I tried downloading the apps with a Galaxy S2 and got the "not supported by your device" notice. So have you found it only works on newer devices? Any way around this?

I've found that the apps run flawlessly on my Galaxy 5S. That's my personal cell phone, so I don't like running the apps on it. My oldest iPod Touch doesn't run the apps anymore. The newest versions of the apps are not supported by the old iOS on it and Apple isn't doing iOS updates for older iPods and iPhones anymore. So, I guess you could say that really old devices won't work but I have iPhone 4 and 4s which all work with the apps I'm using.

On the older Android phones that give you problems running some of the apps, try other apps.

I have 2 tracfones that won't run Perk TV or Perk Word Search, but will run Perk Pop Quiz.

Before Christmas, it was fairly easy to find cheap pay-as-you-go Android phones in the $10-15 neighborhood. I invested in 6 (ultimately) and they all paid for themselves within a few weeks.

ETA: Android tables require special setup files to run some of the apps like Word Search. I forget exactly where I downloaded them from, but I had to download the installation files to get them to run.

WOW I thought I was doing good. Okay I thought you could only have 5 devices that can run Perk TV. I thought perk would ban if had that many devices. I have 7 extra phones that I could be using run perk apps. All my phones is android was free of charge. Plus a desktop and laptop.

Let see if understand correctly.
5 perk tv devices
5 pop quizs devices
4 TV Live devices
and want get ban.

I've read lots of stories of people being banned for running a variety of configurations. I don't think there's any consistency with what will or won't get you banned with Perk.

That is reason I am hesitate to try it. Checkpoints will have where can run up ten devices on run one account on android. Its already up of os. Jest waiting on the android version it.

I actually had more devices running. One that was running Live! died on me a couple weeks ago and it has not been replaced. And the aforementioned iPod Touch is no longer part of my "farm".

So what do people usually redeem their perk points towards? I am thinking that I will get Target gift cards to use for churning. Has anyone used the Perk Plastik card? Thoughts?

I redeem for Amazon, using the Perk Wallet app. It's 3% fewer points for the $25 and $50 Amazon GCs when you cash out that way (24,250 and 48,500 points respectively). The $100 Amazon GC is also discounted (97,000 pts.), but I don't trust rewards programs (especially Perk) and I cash out Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday for either the $25 or $50 GC. If my Amazon credits get too high because I haven't been spending it down, then I will switch to Target or another useful GC.

Perk Plastic costs more than cashing out for any GC. The original card is 3K pts. and comes loaded with $3. Afterward, if costs 1100 pts. per $1 loaded. That's 10% more than redeeming for a GC. A lot of people on reddit seem to like it because it works like a prepaid Discover card. however, I don't like paying such a high premium in points for it and I'm not a fan of pre-paid cards in general.

Learning so much. I will have to check out the Perk wallet app. And I didn't know that perk plastik has a 10% markup. Definitely would rather get Target cards or Amazon if there is a price difference.

Would their best app be for earnings?

I have only been using the Perk TV app. And by my calculations. It will earn $.96 every 24 hours. Provided it ran for 24 hours.
