Our first trip and our honeymoon at Disney World, what could go wrong?

Finally caught up...again. I'm not sure how time gets away from me , it just does.:rotfl2:

DM and I ate at Coral Reef, on our trip, and we both loved it. Of course when it was time to order I had to say, "DM stop watching/taking pictures of the fish and order your meal." and when the food arrived there was a discussion of actually eating the food before it got cold. (Od course this was after I told her she couldn't wander the restaraunts taking pictures until after she'd ordered.):lmao:

When I was reading about you getting to DCL I was getting excited for you.:goodvibes Can't wait to read all about your adventures on the high seas.pirate:

That's hysterical about your DM and Coral Reef. :lmao: It really is a great restaurant.

I'm so glad you got excited reading the part about getting to Port Canaveral, I was trying to get that anticipation affect going. :)

I'm working on the next installment right now and there will be plenty of adventures coming up!

Just one of those reading your trip report and enjoying it very much! Popped in tonight, looking for your next installment...anxious to hear all about your experiences with the DCL...and LOTS of pics, please:wave2:

:wave2: It makes me so happy to see your enjoying the TR. :goodvibes

I'm working on the next installment now and believe me, I have TONS of pictures to share. :)

Oh I like DL too and I've been to both. DL is like smack dab in the middle of a MAJOR road/highway--there isn't any "mystique" when you enter the parking lot...not like WDW where it's 43 freakin square miles. Then again, like you said DL is the original and not a lot of room for growth. Whereas WDW there is STILL land around (from what I know of). I like both parks b/c the rides are completely different.

Can't wait to see pictures of the cruise---if you have any that is.

Next installment coming up soon, with plenty of pictures!

Okay so I last left off with DH and I parked the car and we were heading over to the terminal building when I spotted the long line to get through security. I would have thought it would be fairly empty already since we got to the port at around 1pm and that was late. So we get into the line which started outside the building and after about 20min we finally headed up the escalator to the main building area. This is when I started taking pictures again.

See the lady CM looking right at the camera when we took the photo, she was so cute. The minute we got closer to her she was so excited that we were on our honeymoon and going on the cruise. She was asking us a bunch of questions about the wedding and giving us all sorts or best wishes.

That was really the only pictures we took because I was to excited to keep loitering around the terminal, I wanted to get on the ship! So we did what this sign told us to.

http://

Pretty soon we were walking through this!

http://

And then walking through the hallway we both had to have our picture taken under the Welcome Aboard signs. We are strange people!

http://

http://

We had our welcome aboard photo taken and I don't know why it scanned into the computer so crappy but the original photo looks much better.

http://

And then before I new it the Cruise CM was asking our name and we were being announced to everybody, which resulted in a huge applause because of being on our honeymoon. I was kinda embaressed and I believe I blushed a bit. After that happened DH and I kinda stood there in a daze not knowing what to do because (A) We have never been on a cruise before, (B) I don't think the shock of actually being on the DISNEY CRUISE SHIP had worn off yet and (C) We couldn't stop looking at the beyond beautiful atrium.

After a few minutes we kinda snapped out of it and decided to go to our stateroom but as we headed to the elevator another CM saw us and I think he realized we looked like two very overwhelmed and completely lost people so he came up to us and asked if we had eaten yet and we told him no, so he suggested we go eat because everything would be shutting down for the muster drill in a little while. We agreed and so he directed us to Parrot Cay but not before wishing us a fantastic honeymoon and wonderful time on the cruise. :goodvibes

Okay so we got to the entrance of Parrot Cay and the CM asked us to please wash our hands with those wipes they have all over the ship and that was fine, we did it and proceeded to do it throughout the entire cruise but boy was I surprised and disgusted at some other people we encountered who would not partake in this small request that the cruise ship has. :sad2: So we get escorted to our table in the corner by a window, it was very cozy and the whole time we are walking everybody, including other guest who saw us were saying congratulations and wishing us well. :goodvibes

So we get seated and order some drinks and then hit the buffet. Good Lord was I in heaven. It was sooooo much yummy food and I had a very hard time choosing what I wanted to eat. DH on the other hand was off and running, he new exactly what he wanted apparently. Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of the buffet, but I did get pictures of us happily eating.

http://

http://

We actually ate fairly quickly and DH went back for seconds but I didn't, I was too excited and wanted to see our stateroom. Granted we only had an inside stateroom, so really no big deal but I was still anxious to see it. Off we went and here are pictures that DH took while I was in the bathroom.

http://

http://

We were surprised to see that they had given us two onboard credits, one was for $25 and the other was for $75, very cool. And of course you can see the buttons they gave us for the honeymoon had Donald and Daisy on them so I was thrilled!!!!

Some more pictures of the room.

I was very happy with the stateroom all in all, very cozy for two people. It did take me awhile to adjust to the tiny bathroom though, that took some pratice. DH and I thought we would be sad not having a port hole or verandah but in the end we decided it was not worth the extra money and we found a better use for the money we saved taking an inside stateroom instead.

So after we got settled for the most part (one of our suitcases had arrived), I finally looked at our dining rotation and realized that the one place I wanted to eat most of all, Animator's Palate was on the same night we scheduled dinner for Palo. I remembered that the Navigator said they were making dining rotation adjustments in one of the lounges, I can't remember which one but we headed down there so I could try and change things around. After speaking with a CM from Palo he advised me that the only openings they had would be that night (our first night on the ship) and it was late, around 8:30pm. I didn't like the idea at all but I really, really wanted to eat at Palo so I said fine and we rescheduled. Originally I had Palo scheduled for our last night on the ship so I was wondering how this was going to pan out for us.

We left and headed up to Deck 9 to look around for a bit and to get the drink of the day, but I don't remember what it was called. It was very yummy though.

I was very surprised to see just how tiny the pools are on the ship, I mean I new they were small but when I saw them in person, it really hit home.

http://

We headed up to Deck 10 to get some better pictures.

I promised you guys pictures, didn't I? ;) And I still have a ton more to share. ::yes::

We then decided to head back to the room so that we could get ready for the Drill.

Holy CRAP!!! The pools are small. I can't imagine going swimming in those. But I love the pictures of the ship :)

:beach: Thanks for the teaser pics. Those pools are a bit on the small side--was one of those the Adults Only pool? Now get going...MORE pictures!! (please...) Another lonnnggg month til our own vacation (no cruise, just Florida), but, until then, this is the closest I'm going to get to water that's not frozen!:rotfl2:

She was like that at all of the restaraunts. By the end of the trip though she would make her order and then look at me and ask, "Can I go take pictures now?" With the same tone that a four year old would ask if they could go play.:rotfl2:

DH and I didn't go swimming the whole time we were on the ship because it was so crowded most of the time.

The pool with nobody in it and nobody around at the time was the adult only pool. That picture was really the only time besides late at night the pool was empty.

I'm going, I'm going on more installments and MORE pictures. ::yes::

Your long month is going to go by so fast and before you know it your gonna be back in sunny Orlando and WDW. pixiedust:

:rotfl2: PRICELESS!!!!!! :lmao:

I can imagine it being rather crowded, especially with a lot of kids on the ship. I'd love to go on the Disney Wonder but not sure how much I actually would like a cruise :) But I do love your pictures.

So DH and I headed back to the stateroom to get ready for the muster drill. Here are some pictures don't we look fabulous?

Now can I just say this was the worst part of the entire cruise. Talk about a mess and complete and utter chaos. First we were on the side of the ship that had the sun beaming down right on us and it was so freakin hot with all these people around you. And then picture if you will.....tons of people, alot who did not speak very good english and had at least 3 to 4 children with them who were running around and being completely rude and obnoxious in the burning sun.

http://

The CM's were telling them again, and again, and again to line up and have the children in front of them, of course they didn't understand, or they just didn't care.

http://

I was getting mad, nobody was listening to anything anyone was saying and all I could think was "well if the ship goes down for some reason everybody in this area is going to go down with it". :sad2:

I felt so bad for this CM, I think she had finally had enough and all about gave up.

http://

Anyway after about 15min or so they let us go and I all about flew outta there, I could not stand to be next to those people any longer and I was roasting to death. :crazy2:

So we got back to the room and hung out in there longer then we meant to enjoying the air conditioner and time got away from us so we missed most of the sail away party. When I realized what time it was we hauled butt up to Deck 9 but it was pretty much to late.

On the way out of the room I snapped this shot of DH.

http://

This is one of the murals on the wall when you are in the elevator.

http://

http://

http://

So we reached Deck 9 and the first thing I realized is it had gotten cold and windy. It was a good thing I took my sweater with me. We headed over to the 24hr. drink station and I got myself some coffee to warm me up. Then as we headed up to Deck 10 to get some photos we heard the most glorious sound ever and I was so thankful that we hadn't missed it.

THE DISNEY WONDER WAS LEAVING PORT AS THE HORN BLARED "WHEN YOU WISH UPON A STAR"

It actually brought tears to my eyes. I don't know if that has happened with other first time Disney cruisers but boy oh boy was I touched.

So after I had my moment, :rotfl2: we walked around taking pictures.

I tried to get on the side that was facing the Disney Terminal but that area was packed of course and I didn't feel like trying to shove my way in. DH managed to find me some of the streamers that got left around after the sail away party so that I could add them to my scrapbook later.

http://

Lots more pictures coming up........hopefully tonight!!!!!!

O.k..so I am LOVING your TR and the pictures!!! I'm sorry that you had a terrible time during the safety drill. And it's rather unfortunate when you get people who can't understand English---makes it that much worse!! Oh well, at least you got through it :) And I'm hoping you had an amazing time.

http://

So then I wanted DH to see the secret Deck on Deck 7 so we headed down there. I took some photos along the way off pictures on the walls throughout the ship. There are so many and they are all so cute.

http://

http://

http://

Then we finally got to the Deck and it was completely deserted which I already expected. It was very peaceful and a nice spot for DH and I to be alone for a bit to really soak up the fact that we were on the DISNEY CRUISE!

http://

http://

http://

When we finally left, the first showing of the Golden Mickey's was going to be just starting so we decided to go see that. (Little did we know this was the only show we got to see while on board) :sad1:

Here are some more pictures for you.

http://

http://

http://

http://

It was a really cute show and I'm glad I got to see it.

So we leave the theater and head back to our stateroom to get ready for dinner at Palo. When we arrived our stateroom host whose name was Jay and he was great had already done our turndown service for the night. This is what we found.

http://

I love towel animals, they are so cool.

So we relaxed for a bit and we wondered what are table mates would think when we didn't show up for dinner on the first night of the cruise. We had the late dinning rotation which turned out to be a blessing for us later on, I don't know how people do the early rotation, I couldn't handle it. But I guess if you have kids, ya kinda have to. DH and I will get to that point in our lives at some time.

Finally we started to get ready for our dinner at Palo. I was super excited because I had read all about it and was looking forward to the yummy food and romantic setting.

Hiya!

Just spent the last hour or so reading your TR from the beginning. How awesome so far. You are hilarious, and had me laughing out loud many times =)

First of all.. CONGRATULATIONS on your recent nuptials! Your photos are simply gorgeous, and I love the fact that you had your wedding on Halloween. Your dress is fabulous! I love different colored wedding dresses.

I cannot believe that little snot on the TTA. What a rude little monster! His is coming to him.. that's for sure. And that lady with her rude comment to you. Seems like she was the one who needed the pot... hehe. What an uptight bleep!

Tell your hubby that he is an awesome picture taker. I love the Epcot globe pictures at night. Awesome!

I'm glad you ended up feeling better.. after such a rough start. That must've been so draining both physically and emotionally. But you marched through like a trooper :)

You mentioned about sitting side by side on Splash. I had to go over to my fridge and look at our ride photo from it. We're sitting with DBF behind me... same as in DL. Ehhh? Also, I totally agree with the Pirates comment. I felt that WDW's Pirates was awkward too. DL's is way better in that department. I think the boats are just too small on WDW's version, and it almost felt cramped, know what I mean?

Me and DBF are located in the Bay Area, and are planning to head down to DL for my Birthday in April (during my spring break.) I think you and DH should tag along for the trip, being that you're so close and all. LOL. Plus you seem like cool people :) Okay.. now I just sound like a stalker. But it's not everyday you get to meet people who share your love of Disney!

Okay.. now that I've written you a novel, hehehe. Can't wait to hear more about your cruise!

Hello all, I'm still fairly new to the Dis boards and spend most of my time just lurking around reading other peoples TR's. :surfweb: I decided to write my own because it seems like fun even if I am a few months late, our disney honeymoon took place in November. :sad2:

I guess I will start with the usual introduction of myself and my DH. He and I have actually known each other since 1995. We dated briefly but DH is five years older then me and at that time I was just a wild girl and refused to be tied down in a relationship. :rolleyes1 Well anyway we ended up becoming much better friends and actually stayed in touch for a long time before we lost track of each other. Long story short, and lots of drama in between we finally got back in touch with each other about 3 years ago. I ended up inviting him to go to Disneyland with me and some friends and he actually took the day off from work so that he could go. I was surprised and thought that was cool but didn't think anything else of it. Well the day came and I went to his house to pick him up, now let me tell you it's not that DH was unattractive back then but when I saw him for the first time in seven years I was blown away, even with him balding which he hates but I don't mind I thought he looked great, so much more mature and attrative to me. Well the whole way to Disneyland which is not far, we flirted like crazy and we both realized how much we had changed and for the better. Anyway and I'm sorry if I'm rambling on now but the day at Disneyland turned out to be fantastic and my friends really liked him and at the end of the day they could tell something was going to happen between us. Within a few weeks of that day and DH and I talking all the time he professed his love for me and said that he loved me when he first met me and never stopped. My heart melted.

So fast forward to now and we are married and happy as can be. Obviously there is alot of history with DH and I, way to much to put on the boards but I think it holds true for DH at least if you love something, then let it go and if it comes back to you then it's meant to be.

So now it's time for who we are now.

Well my name is Kathleen, everyone calls me Kat. I'm 32 and currently have no job. I was born in New Jersey and spent most of my childhood there, but my mom had family in CA so we came to visit here often and eventually moved to CA. Because of that reason I was introduced to Disneyland at a young age and never looked back. :cool1: I have been a lover of all things disney for most of my life and show no signs of slowing down.

Now DH is Alfonso, we call him AJ, he is 37 and works for Universal Studios Hollywood. Now I know there are mixed feelings for Universal on these boards but I can't help the fact he works there. He works for special events so that makes it a little better because of all the cool parties and people he gets to meet. :thumbsup2 Aside from the fact he works there he is also a lover of all things disney and always will be.

This is us at Disneyland on Buzz Lightyear

http://

This is our family for now

Our cats Willow and Storm, willow is in the back

http://

And this is Ashley

http://

Well I hope that introduction was okay and you will get a better idea of who we are as this TR goes along. Next up will be a bit about the wedding and a not so great start to the honeymoon.

So DisneyLand made your love strong??? You seem made for each other.. Good.

I was very surprised to see just how tiny the pools are on the ship, I mean I new they were small but when I saw them in person, it really hit home.

http://

wow, I wonder why they didn't just take that blue area around the pool and make the entire pool bigger? is this the adult pool?

I'm loving the cruise part of the report too! I have never done one but dream of doing it someday! and I agree, the stateroom looks ok for two people and I probably wouldn't pay extra for a bigger one, besides, on a cruise who wants to be in your room? You should be out on deck looking at the ocean, relaxing with a drink in your hand or doing activities!
