I'm a poster girl on what "NOT" to do...
1. Curves - joined that, you get locked into automatically deducting the monthly fee from your checking account. and the resistance "cycle" they have can be hard on the knees, and doesnt give you as much as simple weights in a gym or at home - but it is a motivator for many many people, just not me... and they earn money on people like me!!
2. LA Weight loss, I got hooked on the commercials, went to find out how much, and again, before you know it, $500 and a one year commitment - good thing the inspector general gives you a 3 day grace period to back out of contracts!! Lots of double speak before getting to the bottom dollar!! Again, I think this could work, but they seem to know how to "sell" things, vitamins etc... you would have to be strong and committed, you do some liquid diet, and mainly cutting back calories and exercising, sounds familiar!!
3. For message boards with emphasis on Weight watchers Dottie's Weight Loss zone is the best - I believe its

4. Oprah did a show on "personal makeovers" in which she was talking to 4 guests 3 months after their journey's - she talked about the need to journal the ONE question every day - who am I? I think that was it, all I know just watching the show, I related all to well to one of the guests, and I have a better understanding on why I"m turning to food to comfort, but now I"m just really scared!! try
www.oprah.com and find more information!!
I think there is a lot on the "seek and you shall find" - seek a diet buddy, seek support - you can find it. You have to be determined to do it for you... and you have to be committed. You have to find "me" time. That's my downfall, finding time for "me" takes away from family. I"m getting up at 5:30 am and going to bed after 11, I cant do it before or after my day! I am very very good at excuses, and "acceptance",,, mind games I play with myself!
