There are still people guessing that they will have a soft opening but at the current time it's nothing that has been shown to be concrete.

I've heard there won't be a soft opening as Shanghai has exclusive rights to debut the new film first. Disappointing, hoping to catch it before we leave in June.

I believe the assumption for the soft opening would be that they'd open with the old film....at least in the threads I've seen it suggested in. That would circumvent the issue with the Shanghai exclusivity rights to the new film. There have been those that said that's unlikely because of the effort to sync up the ride but others have said that they are running the old film during the day out at Disneyland and then swapping over to test the new film at night so it may be possible.

Still no fastpasses available. We arrive in WDW on June 17, we were so happy to hear Soarin' will be open, it's one of our favorites!

I'll be keeping a close eye on MDE to see when those fastpasses open up!

I wish there was an easier way to check for FP availability than to have to go in to modify an existing pass. This entire system is so cumbersome and time consuming. I'm just trying to watch for some of the new stuff at AK park (looks like we'll be missing the EP stuff on our dates) and it's so annoying to have to keep going in over & over to check....

Picturing the ride CMs running through squirting Orange scented Glade as a temporary patch to use the old film for a couple weeks til the new film opens

If they did reopen with the old film, I wonder if it would be without the scents. I've ridden California Adventure's Soarin' a couple of times in the last few weeks and there have been no scents either time.

Okay - I just called Disney and spoke with someone in IT in regards to the app not showing FPs available. They said that the communication was sent in error and that the FPs would not be opening today, nor could she tell me when. They are working on the problem and I still feel like I need to stalk the site in case their corrective action is to make them available. Just to clarify she did not know what the corrective action would be.

We leave to go back home the 13th and am wondering if by chance they do a soft opening is it usually several days in advance or the day before?
