It was a summer afternoon in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The heat index had me wondering why on earth we visited this park on that specific day. It was a very hot 105 degrees. It would have been 100 degrees, but because it was the Animal Kingdom, add an extra 5 degrees on to the heat index because of the park’s foliage and plant life.

That is not MY biggest pet peeve at the parks.

Mine is kids on Dad's shoulders, blocking the view of anyone under 8-9 feet tall behind them. (Those kids pop up there too late to find a better viewing spot, too).

When people stop right in the middle of a crowded walkway to look at a map or whatever! Step to the side people! Are you not aware of the throngs of folks behind you???

What an odd thing to get upset about. The indecision of the people in front of you probably cost you, at most, 45 seconds to a minute. It only seems longer since you were hungry (or needed something to write about).

THIS! Move over and get out of everyone's way!

It's actually more of a consideration thing.... Have common courtesy

This is mine too. It really irks me when you are standing waiting to see a castle show, parade, or whatever and thinking you have a good spot then all of a sudden just as it starts, the dad in front of you places his kid on his shoulders. What's even better is when you are taping said show or parade and there is no where else to go (because there are 100s of people behind you) and the dad decides to put his kid on his shoulders, so now you have a dad and his kid right in your viewing area and you will be reminded of it when you watch that video later :sad2:. Can you tell this has happened to me before?

~LOL. I totally agree with this. The OP's pet peeve is not what I expected at all -- he must get mad everyday because people do that everywhere!

~The OP is a fabulous writer but perhaps he should find a new pet peeve, because this one is just not worth the stress! Save your energy for the line cutters, flash photo offenders and people who take pictures and block everyone's view with giant ipads! :lmao:

I thought it was going to be about the lack of air-conditioned attractions at AK.
~LOL. This is too funny. :lmao:

When DS was small I would sometimes pick up DS and put him on my hip so that he could see things. I would never let DH put him on this shoulders.

My pet peeve is people who crowd around and block FP entrances. Why?

I can't call this a pet peeve but I love those parents who threaten there children that if they don't start behaving that they are going back to the hotel. I really wish they would follow through with there threats it would make the parks less crowded.

LOL.

We threaten that none of the princesses will allow crying/whining girls to visit them, and she quickly straightens up. I dread the day this stops working!!! :dance3:
*We also have told our DD (and other children, to their SHOCK) that there are Disney Police that come around and escort crying kids out of the park. This is why you don't see crying children all over the place.
THAT ONE works like a charm.

LOL!!! We are awful!!!! Awfully AWESOME!!!! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Yes, this one! I was sitting outside Crystal Palace on the ledge and this mom rushes up in front of me and lets her daughter stand (right in front of me) on the tiny little gate that goes around the roses. The kid kept wobbling and grabbing her mom about to fall in the rose bushes. Annoying and dangerous!

This is also my pet peeve! I'm cruising along at a pretty fast speed walk, pushing 50 lbs of stroller, and then have to stop on a dime when the group in front of me stops suddenly in the middle of the path....

I totally agree with the kid on dad's shoulder thing, but even worse for me is when I am stuck behind someone on a ride who thinks it is necessary to use their Ipad to record the whole ride and completely blocks my view.

It's not so much that they stop. It's when the stop suddenly with no warning and then snap at everyone who walks into them ...
Watch where you're going!!
Eh ... No. Watch where you're stopping.

I appreciate that the parks for the first time are overwhelming to some but it's always common sense to be aware of people traffic behind you.

You'll never see me stop sudden to look at a map. Maps don't make sense to me lol

My biggest Pet Peeve is when they wake me up at the end of the Hall of Presidents, Carousel of Progress, and Ellen's Energy Adventure.

Huge strollers. when parents struggle with them, fight to fold them up and get them on buses, and run aver everyones feet all day long. ReallY? do you need a stroller the size of a small car? its like a status symbol do you need Giant stroller to prove your parenting swaG?

When my family and I have been sitting/standing in our desired spot for the Parade for a LONG time and someone tries to push their way in or throw their kid in front of us at the last minute:(
