My Halloween Birthday report! Trip report starts pg 4

Made the deposit on our honeymoon it feels so weird to. E able to plan more then one trip it's awfully exciting! I feel so blessed

Found out yesterday the Indiana Jones closed on Tuesday and will be closed until the first week of December, I don't know how I missed that before lol Its a bummer but Im glad the ride is getting a much neede refurb. My little brother on the other hand is really pretty upset as its his favorite ride I feel really bad for him hopefully RSR will make up for it

YAY received our tickets today! well Austin and Shy's Tickets
I thought Jared was going have to go and pick them up somewhere where because they require a signature and obviously we have like jobs and such and are not home during the day, However While we were at my parents house after dinner my dad asked if I would help him get down the halloween decor and while we were in the garage a very late ups truck showed up and my dad signed and I got my tickets! not sure why they came to their house but what evs it worked out I will post some pics tomorrow I have a surprise planned for Austin and Shy

Ok so Jared and I will be activating our AP's when we arrive so the actual tickets that came were austin and shys, but we all got luggage tags and coupon books. We also received a nifty back pack because I paid with my Disney Rewards Visa.
I filled the back pack with stuff for Austin and Shy's Trip and put there tickets etc in and added a Christmas bow since the trip is technically there Christmas present

I feel like time is going by sooo slow! only a week and a half away no but it feels like years

Had my nails done last night tonight I plan on watching opening day at Disneyland and finishing our packing we are almost ready to go

FINALLY I have some time to sit down and start this trip report!
So here goes!

Day 1
Thursday night we all went to the movies and had dinner to celebrate my birthday with my whole family then it was off to bed early. Friday mornibg day one we were up and adam at 4 and hit the road by 5!

and below is Austin and Shy in a pitch black car at 4 am lol

After about 20 mins Austin and Shy fell asleep in the back seat and Jared and I hatched a plan to plan the circle of life really loud as the sun rose to wake them up but unfortunatly they woke up just before sunrise

but we did it anyway and it was really very epic

We made two pit stops on the way there at starbucks for breakfast and then target for a potty break and to pick up some sunglasses
Finally at 10 we arrived at our hotel The Jolly Roger we were unable to check in but we were given our parking pass and were able to arrange for my brother to check in at 3 while Jared and I were in the park so after that it was off to Disneyland We split up in the esplanade Austin and Shy Spent the Day in Down town disney.
Jared and I headed into Disneyland and I got my first imperson look at the pumpkins!

Once on mainstreet I had a plan I wanted a birthday button and a new phone case Jared gave me a shiney new i phone for my birthday and I wanted to use a gift card Austin and Shy gave my my birthday for a Disneyland Case. Our first stop was town square for my button but they were out so I went to the emporium and bought two different cases. The craziest thing was there was a sign that read 2 for 50 dollars on cases 32.95 so I took one that was 32.95 and one that was 34 thinking like most sales it was 32 and up. well it wasnt and I had to pay full price for both so weird. I was however able to get a birthday button from the cashier so it was ok.
Next it was time for a sneaky trip to Carsland. I really wanted to Radiator springs racers even though I was technically supposed to wait for Austin
but first I wanted my offical AP card so we went to a ticket booth before it took forever! but we suceeded they the told us we had to have our picture taken by a photo pass photographer
So it was over to DCA and our first look at Buena Vista Street which was soooo beautiful I was in love.

We had our pics taken and headed in to cars land

and right into line for Radiator springs Racers

The wait really wasnt that bad we waited about an hour an a half before we were on this trip we got Louigy's. This is by far my new favorite ride I am by far in love!
Thats all for tonight though its getting late and Im both tired and fighting a cold bleh hopfully Ill be able to post some more tomorrow night

Great start!! I think I would have had to argue with the cashier if the sign said 2 for $50. If nothing else, they need to clearly sign which ones that included......too confusing. You got a nice pic of the entry gates!! Very fall and festive!

The new CarsLand looks amazing.....I've seen quite a few pics and can't wait to see it for myself! We cancelled our WDW trip in December and have switched to Disneyland.......that's still teetering on the IRS finally getting my adoption credit to me.....we're on week 36 of waiting.

Looking forward to more!!

Ugh! waiting can be so hard! You defiantly have my prayers they they will send it to you quickly. Cars land is totally amazing the detail is beautiful!

Day 1 Cont.
After our first magically ride on RSR We decided to head over to one of our favorite thrill rides the tower of terror!

After that we decided to head back over to Disneyland since we would be spending the Majority of the next day in DCA with Austin and Shy
Since it was about 10 when we arrived in the park and 11 by the time we got in the hour and a half line for RSR plus TOT had a pretty long wait as well and we were hungry! so we hoped on the train at mainstreet and headed to lunch

Jared wanted to eat at French Market because he loves the roast beef there, I dont know why I didnt remember that the menu changes for lunch but it was ok we got to try some new things. I had the New Orleans whole chicken and Jared the Meat loaf
We also ran into some old friends while we were eating

Everything was Delcious accept the veggies they were cold and under cooked sad I love my Veggies.
After eating we decided to get a fast pass for Splash but it was closed so Jared picked up a Churro and we headed over to Haunted Mansion to wait in line for a Whole 50 mins Needless to tell y'all but the park was SO crowded this trip

I hate long waits for the rides......I hear that Halloween time is getting really busy!! That's too bad, we were hoping to check it out one of these years.....but not if they're packed!! Last week they were reporting that all but 3 of the parties were fully booked!! YIKES!

This would be Jareds first time seeing Haunted Mansion Holiday I was excited because he and I both love Nightmare before Christmas and while I love the Mansion Jared could take it or leave it so I was hoping he would love the Nightmare version

Next it was off to Pirates

This was a weird ride on pirates I almost always ask for front row if there are only 2 in my party so thats wear we were the two kids behind us whom looked about 8 and 10ish were telling there mom through the whole ride gory things about the piraters for example when we were near the man they are dipping in an out of the well (Carlos dont be Chickeeen ha ha my fave line) The two kids said look mom hes spitting up blood! it was really very disturbing. In Addition to those lovely Images at the beginning of the ride the back row of the boat was Screaming along to it, they seemed to get bored with this and I got to go through most of the ride in peace. After Pirates we headed over to frontier land to get our Party wristbands. Let me just say that I can not STAND rude CM's I cant stand rude anyone in the service industry but I really get annoyed by CM's. The line for the wristbands was suuuper long and we got into what we thought was the end of it when a CM standing there said your cutting and I answered with excuse me? and she said well you didnt come from over there did you your cutting please go to the end. It turned out that they put a space in the line between the hub and the part of the line at the gate to Frontier land. As if I should automatically know that so that on top of the fact that I was already annoyed at having to wait in line to get my wrist band when people currently coming into the park were getting there wristband right away I saw no reason why I couldnt have shown my Halloween ticket and gotten my wrist band when I came into the park that morning made for an unpleasing 30 min wait. When we finally had our wristbands it was off to Space Mountian it was a 90 minute wait but we decided to go ahead and wait assuming the line would be crazy the whole trip. The wait on the roof top was UNBEARABLE the only thing to entertain us were kids in cute costume and this um Pooh sized child who kept climbing in and out of flower pots and rolling about on the ground. Finally we made it on the attraction and let me tell you the "Ghost" Was one of the funniest things I'd ever seen when we rolled into the station I was laughing so hard and Jared kept making it worse by leaning over and going BOOOOOoooo I almost died ha ha After that we decided to get in a ride on small world before heading over to the castle to sit and wait for the Haloween Parade and Fireworks

After that it was official the Halloween Party had started

No let me start by warning you I did not enjoy the event and probably would avoid going to the parks while it is going on. There was only one thing that made the experience almost worth it and that was the AMAZING fireworks Remember is still my favorite but these are a very close second.
So the Halloween party. Seeing some of the treat station lines we quickly decided our priority was the parade and Fireworks so we headed to the Castle to get seats. We walked from tomorrow land to the hub we were shouted out by CM after CM to show our wrist bands. Not an over exageration I would say every few feet was a person with a light up sign screamibg WRISTBANDS SHOW YOUR WRIST BANDS it was a little un nerving. When we arrived While it was crowded with people everywhere no one seemed to be sitting accept for a few people in the hub. Jared asked a cast member where we could sit to wait for both events and he pointed out a spot where we were "supposed" to be able to see both and would not be cleared out in between. For the first hour and a half things were pleasant we people watched the crazy costumes and let me tell you something Adults can not be trusted with Costumes. While some families were all matching and cute we saw what Jared described as a Heffalump sized Jessica rabbit. Some overly sexy Costumes as well as some that I felt were just inapropriate. I enjoyed that the Castle had projections going and thought the Halloween music was pretty Awesome.

By now we were pretty hungry again. Eating for me on this trip was an adventure now that I am living the Weight watchers life style I tried a few new things and this evening was one of them. Jared headed out in search of food he brought me back some tomato soup from Jolly Holiday bakery it was SOOOOO good I almost forgot to take a picture of it

While Jared was gone a few more people started to sit where we were a family parked there triple wide stroller next to us and another young woman put a blanket down between our spot and the family next to us. Im not sure what happened with that she left then came back freaking out on me an another gentleman claiming wed either stolen her phone or let it get stolen and then she took her blanket and left so weird. The family witht he stroller didnt seem to realize I was there and kept stepping over me like I was a toad stool or something they did this pretty much the rest of the evening. It was about an hour of this and TONS more people coming to sit around us.

Finally the Parade started and everyone where we were stood and ran toward the rope. it was hectic and crazy. I was underwelmed by the parade I prefer more floats, but it was cute.
I am going to post a few pics but they are not very good weridly the pics on my new I phone came out nicer but I only took 2 or 3

y two favorite things about the parade were the country bears and miss piggy on the back of the last float they were nice touches.
About Halfway through the parade is when things really started to get bonkers.

Due to the Caos that was the last picture I took of the evening during the parade a woman came up behind us and litterally put both hands on Jared and pushed him off the curb almost causing him to topple on to lots of other people naturally this annoyed him and he went excuse you this is our spot. To which she rudely replied "well Im making room for my child" and she put a big emphasis on Child I was focusing on the parade and wasnt sure exactly what was going on other then that Jared almost fell but when he seemed ok I just watcher the parade it was after that he told me what had happened. If I had heard it I would have told her that if she wanted a spot for her child they to could have started sitting 3 hours early just like us and those around us. After the parade was over it only got worse no one would sit down. Maybe it happens more often then I thought but I have never had to watch the fireworks standing up when Im that close to the castle. I did this time. people literally stood there for the next hour and a half a mom and her family in front of us were just as irritated as Jared and kept shouted at people in front of us. I was shocked at the behavior of some grown men in front of us who by the way had only shown up after the parade started who told the women with he kids how he and his partner were more important then her children it was ridiculous. I tend to get a little claustrophobic in large crowds I am ok if the crowd is sitting or moving but when people are standing and theres no descernable space bubbles I freak a little I cant do concerts where its standing only etc so I sat literally with my head between my knees just listening to the music in the hub until the fireworks started it was not fun. However the fireworks were so amazing I really loved them and made it just about worth all the trouble. After that we couldnt take it any more the crowding pushing shouting was unbearable and we headed back to the hotel it was about 11 at this time. We did however manage to do ONE trick or treat station on the way out I really wanted some apples to have for breakfast the next day but the castmember were in a hurry and I dont think they heard me so I got Candy which I gave to my little sis when I got home and that was the end of day one.

Yay for Jared liking the HMH.....I got to see it for the first time last December and loved it!! Boooooooooooo on the gross kids on Pirates

Why doesn't the gates hand out your bracelets when you enter the park early in the day (still showing ticket)......seems to me they'd be saving themselves a lot of extra hassle. But with that said, people could "lose" them and then you have unpaid party guests. I guess there really isn't a right answer here. Sad you can't trust people anymore. The CM's still should have been way more polite about where the end of the line was: "are you looking to get a party bracelet??, if so, this is a break in the line to allow guests to pass thru but you will find the end of the line down there". That would have been the proper way to handle this instead of assuming you were just there to "cut" the line!

I hate having people on top of me when waiting for the parades and such.....you get there early to claim some ground and then you have 15 people cram themselves into a spot for 2 people......so annoying (and these people usually show up right before it starts and expect you to let them in) I'm not sure what that lady was thinking leaving a phone on an unwatched blanket.....how stupid! She deserved to lose it!

I'm glad you at least enjoyed the fireworks!!! Sounds like the amount of people for the parties has grown and they're still selling out of tickets. You can only put so many people in the park before it gets uncomfortable.
