Met Any Celebs While Touring?

I'm sorry if this is a stupid question ... I've been following the thread. What do u guys mean when you say you saw "the plaids"?

But not all plaids are the same. :) The blue and white ones with the little riding caps and crops are the KTTK group tour plaids. Ones above are the other possible VIP plaids. And to become a plaid VIP cm, you basically have to go all "Blood Wedding" from Game of Thrones to get that job. Lot of effort.

Celebs that I have met are mostly Stars Wars ones from SWW. But not in the conventional way that you get to meet them, and I have to admit, if I knew then what I knew now, I would have been a lot nicer to them!

I met Dave Filoni, James Arnold Taylor, and Dee Bradley Baker behind the scenes at DHS when I would march for the SWW Parade - I used to wear a rebel pilot costume. They came down the line, shaking hands, talking, etc. When Taylor came and met me, I asked what he did, he said voice of Obi Wan for Clone Wars, and I said "Well, that's nice, good for you" in my best "mom voice". Had no clue what he did. Dee Bradley Baker comes down, I say the same thing, he says he a voice actor for Clone wars, I again give him the "well that's nice". This is the man who does tons of voices - he does ALL THE CLONES!! Plus Perry the Platupus. Worst yet - I did the same thing Dave Filoni! Oh, gee, this is the man who is responsible for the show - Clone Wars and now Star Wars Rebels and I give him the ole, "that's nice for you dear" Grandma voice. :crazy2: (BTW, I am not a Grandma, I just have the voice!) And all of them were perfectly nice about it, if a bit confused why a SW Fan didn't know who the heck they were. I felt HORRIBLE when I learned who they were. Since mended my ways and am much more respectful of voice actors. Or, at least I know who they are.

I've also meet and spoken (and had a great dinner event/SWW afterparty with Rebel Legion and 501st) with Ashley Eckstein. She's super nice and totally doesn't care about the plaids - very fan friendly. She created "Her Universe" which I love to buy stuff from! Oh, and Jeremy Bulloch (Boba Fett). Met him too when the Rebel Legion dropped off a shot glass for him. He e-mailed me to thank me for it! I thought it was a joke, until my friend in the RL said it really wasn't - he was thanking the three of us who had given it to him. Very kind of him, and he is a sweet guy. :lovestruc

In 2011 we met Edward James Olmos in World Showcase. We very quietly said "hello, Mr. Olmos", shook his hand, and went about our business. I don't think they like to be swamped by people.

Back in the mid-90s, we rode the elevator down to the lobby of the Beach Club with David Cassidy. I was only about 10 at the time, so I had no clue who he was, but my mom was freaking out.

We also saw Eddie Murphy several years ago at Disneyland getting off the Matterhorn.

I saw Dan Marino and his family at Splash Mountain in the late early 90's, Tom Cruise with daughter a few years ago (right after the split with KH), Hulk Hogan and ex wife Linda in 2000 or so at a Disney Store where I worked. Frankly, had no idea who they were until my CM told me. Very nice people and extremely down to earth. They were shopping for gifts for their kids. :)
Gary Sinese as he was walking thru on his way to the American pavillion for a Candlelight Processional gig.
Mickey Thomas (same area of EPCOT) It was really neat to be that close to him. So talented and friendly. :)

I don't typically approach because I figure they want their privacy, especially if they have kids with them. They might sign up for being a celebrity as part of the job, but their kids sure don't.

My son was 3 years old at the time and he struck up a friendship with Joe Piscopo's son at the Winnie the Pooh playground in MK in 2005. The boys were about the same age and chasing each other and laughing. Joe seemed really nice and started talking to us.

Back in the ESPN weekend days, I took a pic with Misty May Treanor (and beat her in the 5k thanks to her DWTS torn tendon) and Scotty Pippen was on our club level with his posse. Sports celebs everywhere! Saw many others but didn't talk to them.

Christmas 2013 we saw R.J. and Jay Paul Molinere from Swamp People and their family! My DH loves that show. They offered to take a photo with him, which, of course he happily did!

Oddly enough no, even though I went in the '90s around when a lot of sitcoms were filming episodes there

We saw Angela Lansbury and Bob Hope at separate times in the Grand Floridian during a trip in the 90's. Bob was being helped along gently by an escort on each arm (he had to be in his 90s at the time), but Angela was making her way through the lobby at break neck speed.

I saw two celebs but both were in the Orlando airport. I was in the monorail going to pick up my cousins with my dad when I was about 7 and saw Jim Burt former O-lineman from the Giants and 49ers, he and my dad were laughing and joking around for the few minutes they were talking. And last year while waiting for a delayed flight trying to go back home me and my ex saw Jon Gruden for NFL head coach for the Raiders and Buccaneers but did not approach him, but he saw me looking at him, seemed liked he would have like to be acknowledged because he was wearing his own shirt lol.

Dec 2014 I felt I like I went to WDW with Neal Patrick Harris. Every time I turned around he was getting on the same rides, eating at the table next to us. It went on for a couple days.

My fiance and I met Donny Osmond on New Years Eve last year. He was outside the restrooms in the Beauty and the Beast area waiting for his family. He did a funny improv skit with Gaston over who more women there wanted to see and then took pictures and talked to people while he waited. I got a (really bad) picture of myself with him.

Had about 10 minute talk with Eisner in the club lounge at the GF back in I believe '97 because we talked briefly about AK which would of been under construction at the time. Nice enough guy. He asked how our stay was I said good and that I enjoyed seeing someone at the helm that enjoyed the parks. I recall telling him what a good idea PI was and I looked forward to a continuation of the Disney Decade. He told me he was at the resort for business but he enjoyed walking the parks in between meetings. The more I think about it the more pleasant I remember him being.

New Kids on the Block, at MK and all around the Grand Floridian. It had to be July of 1988 because we had no clue who they were, but they became super famous later that year. My sister and I fell in love with them and have been kicking ourselves ever since.
I think that was the year I saw them too. My dad and I were standing in line to ride I think jungle cruise and they were singing and I joined in. Did not have a clue who they were. I was 9 years old so I do t think I would have cared if I did.

Last August my husband and kids literally ran into John O'Hurley shooting a commercial outside IASW, and then later that day I saw him in the lobby of the Yacht Club.

We saw John O"Hurley last August as well! We were getting off of Test Track at the same time as John and his family. He was nicely dressed for a Disney day so that is why I noticed him at first. We followed them out of the gift shop but they turned left to head towards Illuminations which was starting soom and we headed right for one last ride on Spaceship Earth.

Gloria Estefan, but didn't bother her. My aunt noticed her incognito while we were in Innoventions years ago.
Tichina Arnold (Pam from Martin, the mom from Everybody Hates Chris) at Space Mountain. She had a small crowd asking for autographs, years ago.

DD was on Dumbo on our last visit in April 2014 and Samantha Brown from Travel Channel was on the other side.
