Lake View Studio Pics of the Poly

Seems like more of a bungalow view than a lake view.

:earsboy: Bill

I agree....we want to stay in the Deluxe Studios next June but are deciding on whether or not we should book a Lake view or a Standard view. Lake view would be gorgeous especially if you can see Wishes and the water parade, however, not sure if I would want to see the bungalows in my way of the lake....I am the type of person that sits out on my balcony in the morning and at night during our stay.

I just hope I get a 2nd or 3rd floor. Plus I hope they get all these problems fixed that their having at this resort by November.....

I did a waitlist for a studio or lake view for a trip in October. Has anyone had any luck getting a waitlist so far at the Poly?

Waitlist is always a great strategy for new properties under construction. As new units are periodically declared, waitlists get filled in bunches.

Maybe, maybe not. Although I don't have any definitive proof, I have long suspected that DVC sometimes projects availability based on future declarations, not just what is declared on the date the reservation is booked. For example, as of today DVD has declared 40.71% of the Polynesian Villas & Bungalows for the DVC inventory, which means that DVC bookings using points are limited to booking no more than 40.71% of the resort. However, DVC may know that DVD will do another declaration by October 1, 2015, that will raise the DVC percentage to 75%. Its possible DVC is already permitting members to book 75% of PVB for all reservations commencing October 1 or later. If that is how DVC operates, then there wouldn't be any "new" inventory immediately available right after another declaration is made.

My suspicions are based on some observations when DVD was making declarations for AKV. A handful of people posted that their AKV waitlists did not come through immediately after more AKV inventory was declared. Also, there were a couple declarations made for AKV that didn't seem necessary. DVD had a large number of declared-but-unsold AKV points in its inventory but it still went ahead and declared more points for the DVC.

I know, not overwhelmingly strong evidence to support my suspicions. That is why I said "Maybe, maybe not."

There were some pictures posted today of furniture going into Tokelau.

Under Florida timeshare law, I don't believe they would be allowed to do this. It could be conceived as overselling the capacity of the timeshare portion of the resort if there are reservations for more rooms than there are units declared in to the condominium association.

I also don't believe that "an intention to declare units at a specific later date" is good enough to satisfy what would be required.

A couple of times I have checked availability daily for a couple of weeks after a declaration was announced, I have not seen a noticeable increase in available rooms.

I have been waitlisted for a week now and no luck. I am booked at OKW right not and only SSR is currently available for my dates. I would bet there could many on the waitlist :( Booked ADR's at Kona though so I am planning on getting it!:sad2:

Ok...I know you thought I was not coming back...but here is the water view from Moorea, Studio 3018!

To the left....to the left...to the left..to the left...

Something I knew, but never fully realized before staying here, was you can walk to the Ticket & T center in 5 minutes or less- the DVC villas are right next to the path. So, no transfer from one monorail to the next for Epcot- AWESOME!!!

Looking forward to going back someday! All of you Poly owners are going to be very happy with your new home!

Pretty sure just from the layout of the 3 DVC longhouses, that Moorea will be the only bldg with lake views. Pago Pago is next to the parking lot and TTC, and Togelau (sp?) runs perpendicular to the lakefront, so I don't see how there could be any lake views there either. There will be very few lake view rooms.

I set a lakeview/bungaloview waitlist for a full week in August last week. I know it's virtually impossible it will happen, but it doesn't stop me from checking inventory every.single.day. I need to stop! LOL

The pics are just gorgeous. I suspect it would ruin me from staying anywhere else if the waitlist did come through.

podsnel, thanks so much for the pictures. The resort is just gorgeous at night and what a bonus to be able to see Wishes from your balcony!

Early reports indicated PVB will have 72 Lake View studios, which is exactly the same number of villas in Moorea facing Seven Seas Lagoon. The 70 studios in Moorea that are on the opposite side facing away from the Seven Seas Lagoon, as well as all the studios in Pago Pago and Tokelau, make up the Standard View inventory at PVB. Even though one in four PVB studios are in the Lake View category, I suspect Lake View will be very tough to book unless you own at PVB.

I got two waitlists, but both were single days. I had booked 10/20 and i waitlisted the 19th and 21st. Both came in within ten days. Started the process at seven month window. Now we got 3 consecutive nights poly lakeview and we still have the 18th waitlisted (with a value studio as a backup booked at kidani).

I've been wait listed for a Lake View to replace my Stnd view Studio at the Poly for over a month to no avail. It's for a weeknight in mid-May. No luck since….but it's just a quick stay to use some holding points I had to use or lose before my new use year begins. Those darned grown kids changing plans on you…… (thus, holding points…) :(
