Kidani, HRH & BLT in 6 nights- Yes! We are THAT crazy!! Nov 4-10,09 OBX updates 4/13

I need to do some investigating because how do I not know about the crepes OR the cheese?! What else don't I know and delicious foods in World Showcase? Perhaps I am spending too much time on the drinks in WS, and not nearly enough on the FOOD!

What was the line like for Sum of All Thrills?

Nikki!! You are NOT spending too much time on the drinks!! That is NOT POSSIBLE!!!! :rotfl2:

And the line was about 20 minutes- maybe. Not at all bad! I don't think a lot of people know to go into Innoventions.

Tubing!! So jealous. I haven't been tubing in too many years.

What is it with you guys and TT?! We've been lucky with that one I must admit.

Though I probably just jinxed myself.

Sorry about TT. I'm glad your boys found themselves again so quickly! My oldest was quite the challenge in that department sometimes. Those crepes look delish!

Great updates Ellen!

The skiing sounds fun, although I hear ya on the cold. I think I would have skipped the tubing too and gone right for the Captain Morgans.

The Chinese NY's food sounds delicious! yum yum. Love the red!

I love Timmy's hair. That is so cute. Tyler is 12 and already too old. That sounds so familiar.

I am looking forward to trying Sum of All Fears. Did YOU actually get to ride a coaster? How was is it. I am very curious how intense to try to make it. But one thing I learned from you was - Pay attention to the directions!!!!!

I can't believe you guys are on your third park for the day. Way to go, family! Sorry TT was down again. I hope you get to ride it before you leave.

Those crepes and that cheese plate look fantastic! Mmmm...

It was all yummy- the cheese was better than it looks. I love watching Tyler enjoy food- good food. As a mother, it always makes me happy when his faorite foods are NOT chicken nuggets and pizza (although he likes them, too). :thumbsup2 When he was little (as in exer-saucer little) I was eating grilled salmon for dinner one night and put some down for him to try, along with some veggies. I will never forget him shoving his little fists, filled with fish and vegetables into his little face!! It was adorable and so wonderful!!

When tubing is fun and fast, it's one of the best things- I am still kicking myself that I didn't go!! :headache:

Did you ride TT alot on this trip? we were there at the same time- not a whole lot of luck with that one....

Sorry about TT. I'm glad your boys found themselves again so quickly! My oldest was quite the challenge in that department sometimes. Those crepes look delish!

We all have bad days- but it's much worse when it's one of the kids having a bad one! I'm glad they found themselves again, too!

About the hair- I am hopeful he will want to do it again in a few years...the people who stop us the most to ask, "Where do you do THAT?" are teenagers!

I'm looking forward to riding Sum of All Fears, too! :rotfl: I did NOT get to ride- but they both said it was really excellent.:thumbsup2

:happytv: I've been lurking for while, but just got the guts to join in and post :). Love your stories of your family's adventures! I have 2 younger brothers, and my parents' friends had ALL boys when I was growing up (seriously; two families had 2 boys each, one had 1, and then there were my own 2 brothers), so I love reading about their antics. I think I've seen it all! :rotfl:

It seems like you are having a great vacation so far. I give so many kudos to Sean for adapting so well to changes, both expected and unexpected, that seem to be happening in your trip. I'm so glad that he was able to join you folks for this family vacation :goodvibes. My youngest brother had to stay home from several family vacations for various reasons, and it just wasn't the same without him.

Funny thing about crêpes; the one year that I had home ec class in junior high (yes, it was STILL called home ec waaaaay back then!), the first assignment was to make crepes. Ask anybody, and they will tell you that I'm just about the worst cook, ever (which is funny because my mother has her university degree in home ec and is the world's BEST cook!). My crêpes reflected that fact...let's just say that a) they looked NOTHING like the ones in your pictures; and b) no matter how hungry, and taking into account the fact that boys will eat almost anything, your boys would NOT have eaten them. Vive les crêpes!

 Here's a message for Tyler (warning: I'm bilingual French/English verbally, but my written French is, well, quite rusty!):

Félicitations pour vos efforts à apprendre la langue française! A temps ce n'est pas facile, mais je crois que vous pouvez gagner un capabilité très utile.

Can't wait to hear about the rest of the trip!

Hey there! I have been waiting to reply until my son could read your message- and....he needs to take another year of French before he can read your message!!!! :rotfl2: But thank-you for the words of encouragement to him. He would have, however, eaten your crepes, I am CERTAIN of that- he is one to eat with his stomach, not with his eyes, first. :rotfl2:

So happy you are reading along! Oh- and I saw you are going to U2 in a few months- LOVE U2- here's us at Giant's Stadium (the one that was just torn down :sad1:) this past fall-

Hi Ellen I started my TR!!!!

Thanks Rosie! I've subbed! :thumbsup2

Hi Ellen !!! I am soooo happy to report that I have my laptop up and running !!!

I am so glad!! I would be sooooo frustrated without my laptop- it must have made you crazy (er) you Pole dancing escort! :rotfl2:

I have uploaded all the rest of my pics and will try to update soon- although I have a pretty packed schedule this week. Talk to you soon I hope!

Ellen

We arrived at DHS-

2009_111006summer0535.jpg

And made a beeline for TSM- believe it or not, this would be the first time for everyone but me! Sean LOVES Toy Story, as I've mentioned before, but for some reason lately is NOT that into Woody. I thought if he would just get far enough IN to the bulding and see Mr Potato Head, he would be in heaven! But, sadly, Sean got 20 feet in....and said "No THANKS!" No amount of convincing would change his mind, so Pods volunteered to go out with him so I could ride with the boys. Oh well...anyway, here are T&T at their first TSM experience-

Speechless before we got on-

That photo cracks me up!

2009_111006summer0538.jpg

Of course, the boys thought the ride was just great, and we were all sad Sean wouldn't try it. Well, all that means is I guess I'll have to keep working on it until we can try again, right? :thumbsup2 Outside, I snapped a couple of quick photos and an army man marched up behind me.

I said, "Hey, Sean- look at THIS!" and he was entralled for a good 5 minutes-

2009_111006summer0542.jpg

Sean is fascinated (and obsessed) with anything sequential- states, numbers, and especially the alphabet, as well as words and spelling. He loves Mr. Spell (in the movie) and loves those talking dictionaries you can get - actually, he carried on around the parks along with his other "friends", it did a great job of keeping him occupied during meals and waits.

I really, really, really wanted to go into One Man's Dream- and thankfully, Timmy wanted to, too! So we went in to learn about Walt, while Pods & the rest went in search of popcorn.

I was so happy to have this experience alone with Tim! It's always great to have one on one time with my baby. :lovestruc

Another of Sean's favorites-

Ok, I know this is from Silly Symphonies, or has some other historical Disney significance...but, really....WTH???

2009_111006summer0549.jpg

We had a look at the original MGM and what was there when it opened- and I told Timmy about how his Mom and Dad had actually been lucky enough to be in MGM on opening day. It was really great- Bob Hope, Michael Eisner...tons and tons of celebrities- I really have to dig the photos out to post! Actually, as I recall, I took alot of video that day of all the speeches, etc. Anyway, DHS has come a LONG way since that day, that's for sure!

We watched the film, I was so glad we got a little Disney history in our day. :thumbsup2 Loved this attraction.

Next up....will he or won't he? Timmy and his 1st RnRC ride!

Great Update...and I love One Man's Dream, one of my fav attractions in all of the parks. Gotta pay a lil respect to the MAN! :worship:

Hey Ellen! Enjoying your snow day???

Hmmm, that weird man with pigs sculpture reminds me of a scene from Pirates. Maybe it had something to do with that?

How cool that you guys were there opening day of MGM! That's awesome!

Good luck with that! Hopefully this is the last snow day...I don't want to have to start making days up!

OH you must post your pictures from DHS opening day! Of course, don't do it before I get home from work because I can't see them here.

Loved your update, even though I can't see one picture. I wish you all had gotten to ride TSM, but whatch goona do. Poor Pods - does this mean he still hasn't ridden it?

I can't wait to find out whether Timmy braved RnR!

And FWIW - I love One Man's Dream!

And the answers to all your questions will be answered soon...:rolleyes1

I know you love OMD- I remember you going in there in your TR! It's really too overlooked. Ok- next post is from our snowy tundra!
