See I totally disagree. the value of the points are any vacation are way more than financial. First of all, how in the name of all that is holy can you assume what their emotional state is?
I sold my house the year after my husband died, I heard all the same "crap". how emotionally "unstable" I was, how I'll regret moving. Pul-leeze. moving was the best thing I did in a very long time. Now I'm getting the same song and dance because I'm retiring at 57.
Op, I use my points all over the place. I've used them for the luxury hotel side, I've used them for Vero beach and I plan to use them on my
disney cruise. Is it the best use of my points? hummm yeah. I'm using the points for a vacation, which is why I brought them.
I also brought direct. never heard of dvc resale nor these boards, so I guess I was a dummie who didn't due her "due diligence" either. Not sure I would have done it either on the advice of a perfect stranger.
LOL, I also not sure I understand the "no emotion". who the heck buys into a vacation place without loving it??? Timeshares are not investment vehicles. Yeah, my purchase was pretty emotional. I feel in love with Disney and knew I wanted to visit for years to come. I went to a seminar, got the cost, went home and figured out if we could afford it according to our lifestyle, then purchased.
