Here I sit, back in dreary, rainy New Jersey, when not 24 hours ago I sat by the pool at CSR, sunny, 85 degrees......
Sorry I must have been day dreaming!
Well our annual Easter trip to WDW is over and boy am I ready to post!
First CSR:
PROS: The grounds and landscaping are in great shape! Lush and tropical, just what a winter weary family from New Jersey needed! The Pepper Market food was very good (the prime rib is the best!) and the service was top notch! The pool & pool bar were a blast (look for Jesus & Max, a fun pair). Bus service to and from the resort was outstanding! We never waited more than a few minutes in any location.
CONS: The room and ME!!!! We arrived at the resort around 10:00 AM, checked in and were told the room would be ready at 3:00 PM. We changed and headed to the pool. At 3:00 we checked back and were told, no the room would be ready after 3:00 PM. So we waited and checked back at 4:00 PM and were told, no the room would be ready between 3:00 and 5:00 PM! At 4:45 the room was ready. We requested a non-smoking room and asked for Cabanas. We got Cabanas but the room REEKED , I mean REEKED of cigar smoke!! When we complained to the front desk we were informed the room was non-smoking (though they couldn't explain the 2 Disney ashtrays in the room! ) and no other room was available as the resort was booked. They did offer to clean and deodorize the room. It didn't help! As we sat in our cigar scented room we noticed something strange.... no luggage ! A call to bell service informed us our luggage was delivered. I say nay-nay, I'm in the room, no luggage! We're put on hold. They'll get back to us. They get back to us. Our luggage, supposed to be delivered to room 9282 was delivered to room 9202! ARGH!!!! VERY frustrating .... and un-Disney like!
All in all a great time, but CSR has to work out the kinks. I realise this is THE busiest time of year but I would expect them to be prepared.
