Here I sit, back in dreary, rainy New Jersey, when not 24 hours ago I sat by the pool at CSR, sunny, 85 degrees......:cool1:

Sorry I must have been day dreaming!

Well our annual Easter trip to WDW is over and boy am I ready to post!

First CSR:

PROS: The grounds and landscaping are in great shape! Lush and tropical, just what a winter weary family from New Jersey needed! The Pepper Market food was very good (the prime rib is the best!) and the service was top notch! The pool & pool bar were a blast (look for Jesus & Max, a fun pair). Bus service to and from the resort was outstanding! We never waited more than a few minutes in any location.:thumbsup2

CONS: The room and ME!!!! We arrived at the resort around 10:00 AM, checked in and were told the room would be ready at 3:00 PM. We changed and headed to the pool. At 3:00 we checked back and were told, no the room would be ready after 3:00 PM. So we waited and checked back at 4:00 PM and were told, no the room would be ready between 3:00 and 5:00 PM! At 4:45 the room was ready. We requested a non-smoking room and asked for Cabanas. We got Cabanas but the room REEKED:scared1: , I mean REEKED :scared: of cigar smoke!! When we complained to the front desk we were informed the room was non-smoking (though they couldn't explain the 2 Disney ashtrays in the room!:confused3 :confused3 ) and no other room was available as the resort was booked. They did offer to clean and deodorize the room. It didn't help! As we sat in our cigar scented room we noticed something strange.... no luggage:confused3 ! A call to bell service informed us our luggage was delivered. I say nay-nay, I'm in the room, no luggage! We're put on hold. They'll get back to us. They get back to us. Our luggage, supposed to be delivered to room 9282 was delivered to room 9202! ARGH!!!! VERY frustrating:mad: .... and un-Disney like!

All in all a great time, but CSR has to work out the kinks. I realise this is THE busiest time of year but I would expect them to be prepared.

Sorry to hear about your room problem! Write a nice letter to WDW Communications...they will usually respond nicely....the key word is nice. Spell out all the pros during your stay, and politely describe your un Disney like experience:)

Welcome back Jeff! I hope you were still able to have a great time. Someone else posted while you were away about getting a room in a cabana 9b room that had been smoked in and they moved to rancho 6a. That's about the only thing I can't stand, is when someone does that. WDW needs to start charging them for the cleaning. The rest of your stay sounds good though. The pool, buses and Pepper Market!! The guys at Siestas are great!

Did CSR do anything as far as Easter activities? I know you were asking about that before your trip. Did you notice the new Laguna bar being built out on the promenade? Was work started on the Francisco's expansion?

hey Buzz... No Easter activities, so we made our own. I did notice the Laguna Bar and it looks close to completion (from what I could see peeking over the wall!) and the Franciscos expansion was difficult to tell, the inside arcade was closed and black cloth covered the windows, so maybe that's the start! When I went to a convention last year, I heard people complain that Francicos didn't open until 4:00 and our sessions ended at 3:00, just when we needed a cocktail! Hopefully the Laguna Bar will fill that void.

Also, there was a major painting program going on and the exterior looks fresh and new, nice touch!

Yeah, they are expanding Francisco's. Maybe to include longer hours. Here is the info on the rehab's.

* Laguna Bar being constructed in outside promenade from now thru 4/28/07

* Francisco's - 4/16 - 10/12 - Being expanded to include the Jumping Beans Arcade space - When open it will be a bar, lounge and cafe (La Tienda convenience store will be relocated as part of this refurbishment)

* Panchito's Gift Shop - 5/28 - 6/29 - Will remain open while undergoing modifications
