I cried over the wheelchair ** Final update about Bill 4/4**

Too bad about the room.
Nice bracelet.
That is great how excited they were to see. Nice surprise for them.
We have to stop all this crying. LOL

Sorry you didn't get the first floor. I know that can be upsetting.

I loved the fruit cup, guess I won't begetting that in May. Apples not oxidizing means way too many other things than fruit in my fruit. There goes eating healthy. The carrot cake looked good though.

The picture was so cute. Glad you had time with your friends. Bill up to something? Really??? Can't wait to read more.

I am so glad that you got to go on the trip!!! I hope the rest is much less stressful!!! I can't wait to see all the fun you are had!!

subbing (if I remember how)

That would so irritate me about the chair- and after you gave them specific instructions!! Geez....

Woo hoo!! So great to see you here!! I am honored you would log in and post, thanks so much for being here.

How come it feels like this day was a million years ago???

Hmmm, Bill conspiring??? Not sure I have any clue what you mean! :lmao:

When it came to the kids, I was very proud that Jon and I had kept it a secret. There were many time we had almost left the cat out the bag, but we were good. We had spent the day at MK. I had text Tracy on the bus ride back to let her know we were on our way. We had promised the kids we would stop for a treat before it was back to get ready for bed. Once we got there, I know were Tracy and Bill were sitting, I mentioned that someone sitting over "that way" looked so familiar. I pointed them in the right direction and as soon as they saw Miss Tracy and Mr Bill the kids knew!! They took off at a run to get to Tracy and Bill... Jon and I were now chopped liver! :rotfl:

I should also mention that Bill and Tracy are resposible for getting the kids into Pin trading. (Gavin was opening his pins in that picture). The only problem was the refused to trade the pins from Miss Tracy and Mr Bill! :lmao:

Because it was a million years ago? :( You know all about conspiring, don't you? We will find out about your part in it one day when things get better for you.

I loved the look on the kids faces when they realized we were really there. Those were the best hugs ever.

I am sorry about the pin trading, I tried to explain to them that they could trade them for something they wanted.

:hippie:

I'm in! I don't usually start trip reports at the beginning, because just when you get invested in everyone, the writer seems to lose interest and quit writing. :furious: However, your title sucked me in. You and Bill (and Ace) seem so nice, I'm sure you will finish your report. :thumbsup2

So, from one crybaby to another: On with the show!!

Thank you so much for reading our TR, I will make sure to finish it, I promise.

Just found your TR -
Sorry your vaca started out wrong, but glad all worked out ok with the chair.
The CM's at WDW are great.
Ready to read more...

Hello, thank you for reading and posting. We love the CM's.

This is soooo sweet .

Tammy's kids are amazing and wonderful.

Back from Florida and catching up.

I'm sorry about the room and not being on the first floor.

What a fun surprise for Gavin and Brenda. I know how much they love you guys.

And I love the colored picture that you kept.

Hi Kathy!! It was such a fun thing to surprise them, I am so happy we pulled it off. We love it when the kids make stuff for us.

Well that wasn't a happy cry, either! I don't know how much of a pain not being on the first floor is for you; I hope it's not too bad. Seems like that's a circumstance that should be noted on your reservation and get a really high priority when room assignments are done.

At least you're now at WDW and seeing some friendly faces! Hope those next tears are happy tears.

Bill just feels more safe on the first floor in case of an emergency. First floor is always our first request. I seemed to be crying a lot this trip.

I hope the elevators were good, surely Bill should be the highest priority for a ground floor?!?!

I'm glad you're there safely though and hydrated :rotfl2:

I know, did I have enough drinks or what?

What's up with you and all the water works? Becoming a Grandma must have made you extra mushy!

Sorry about 2nd floor, but for a moment I thought you were going to say that ALL the rooms with roll-in showers had been given away! :furious:

Fruit Cup = Yucky with Apples

Hooray for you ladies pulling off the big surprise for the kiddos!!

Keep on writin'....

Kathy

Oh I would have freaked out if we didn't have a roll in shower room. I can't stand fruit cups with apples, you know it isn't natural for the cut apples to not brown so what are they putting on them?

First time reader of your TR, and I'm enjoying myself! Can't wait to hear about the rest of your trip. Sorry for all the mishaps. Hope the rest of your trip is magical!

Thank you so much for deciding to give our report a chance, we love sharing our experiences.

Too bad about the room.
Nice bracelet.
That is great how excited they were to see. Nice surprise for them.
We have to stop all this crying. LOL

I thought it was so sweet of Brenda to make us bracelets. I wish I could stop crying, not so easy.

Hi Lorrie! I agree about the fruit cup, it really bummed me out. Bill loves the carrot cake. We loved spending time with Tammy's family and everyone else we met during the trip.

I am so glad that you got to go on the trip!!! I hope the rest is much less stressful!!! I can't wait to see all the fun you are had!!

Thanks!

Your trip reports really touch my heart! I started on this one and then went back and read all of them!

Thank you so much for the kind words. I am so happy you have enjoyed our reports.

Im here, figuring out the ap,hoping to catch up!

Hi!! Love your Lily picture!

Hi Tracy (& Bill)! :wave2:

I'm pretty new to Disboards, but I also have CP! I use a manual wheelchair when I visit WDW. I can't believe after you told them not to move the back and took everything off for them they still messed it up (And cut into your Disney time)! I had a famous issue a lot like what you went through while traveling, but it wasn't the airline that damaged my chair it was a cab driver. He plunked it down out of the trunk and pulled away by the time my butt hit the seat he was gone and my wheelchair wasn't moving! A long screw had somehow come loose from the frame and was jammed in the spokes. The spoke was bent! I was stunned.

Another time at the airport I was going to my connecting flight and my break fell off! Just fell and hit the floor all the sudden. I had no way to fix it or put on my breaks so I  cried  and another passenger made the airline switch our seats so I could sit in first class! Both times I had to get maintenance at the hotel to "fix me up"

Here's my chair:

Anyway, I feel your pain. Good for you for sticking to your guns! Can't wait to read more about your trip!

Welcome and thank you for replying to our report!! I am so sorry those things happened to your wheelchair. I am a fanatic about making sure nothing is wrong with Bill's chair. For a couple of reasons... 1) The chair is his legs and his mobility 2) It is very hard to push if he wasn't able to drive it :rotfl:.

I know.

Tagging along!! :goodvibes
We were there that week too!!

It was a great week to be there ;). Thanks for being here.

I know, I know :rolleyes1

I'm crying for you! Great report so far!

Awww, thank you!!

We slept in and then headed off to Hollywood Studios!!

Or were we?

Ohhhh look at that sky!!I miss it so much. We were off to Epcot, we had a Candlelight Processional lunch reservation because we were seeing Neil Patrick Harris that night. It was a do over because this happened last time:

DSC04244.jpg

It rained the entire show and Bill refused to leave, so I was very happy that we would be dry this time.

See Bill is a priority even in Disney’s eyes:

There are problems sometimes when you have been to WDW so much. You catch sight of things that regular tourists don’t even notice.Case in point:

This highly annoyed me, I am in my happy place, there should be no roofing going on, this is supposed to magically take place when I am not around ;).

It was not very crowded that day:

Right after this picture we ran into tazdev3225, Lorrie and her husband Jim. He is a riot, so funny and they are both just great people. It was nice to run into them, we were hoping to see them that day because they were going to see NPH too. We also knew we would see them a couple of more times during the trip.

Our lunch date was at Tokyo Dining, we had never been here so we were looking forward to trying it. Aren’t the CM’s here gorgeous?

We got a table at the windows, I think we had a nice view, what do you think?

I was posting pictures to Facebook when Scott, scottny, posted he was in Morocco for his CLP ADR, I knew Lorrie was in the United Kingdom for hers. We are such world travelers.

We are not adventurous eaters at all. So we looked for ‘safe foods’. My sweet Bill looked like he was having a good time:

And I was about to have a good time, hello Tokyo Sunset:

I was playing my camera, unzoomed:

Zoomed:

We got the tempra for the appetizer, I won’t post that as I cut it up for Bill before remembering to take a picture.

He got the Filet Mingon:

I had grilled chicken, I told you NOT adventurous:

Dessert:

At this point I was getting ansty because I could see the line for the CLP and it was getting long already. I knew there was a seperate line for wheelchairs and ECV’s but I knew Bill wanted down front not in the very back like last time. I asked for the bill, they like to give you time there to eat leisurely, any other day I would have appreciated it. Mia from there is wonderful. We paid the bill and went to get in line. I was just starting to relax when I realized the server didn’t give us our badges for the show, I left Bill and went back to get it. So happy we had lunch at Japan, not Canada or Future World.

I came back and noticed it was getting more crowded:

Still loving that sky:

We were let in and they were leading us down front!! Bill was happy until the CM pointed to where he wanted Bill to park, right behind this post:

Um, NO!! There were so many other places available, the CM said “oh you can just turn at little it will be fine”. I asked if we could go to another locations and pointed at two other spots, he finally said ok and we moved.

See, so much better... No pole:

We got so excited when we saw the horns:

See the guy with the red bow tie? Do any of you remember Four for a Dollar, the group that used to sing before the Beauty and the Beast show at DHS?Love him!!

Next installment...Neil Patrick Harris need I say more?

I love so many things about the Candlelight Processional, I mean what’s not to love.

The horn players:

Cast Member choir:

The guest choir (you have to watch them because it seems like at least one person either is escorted out or passes out each show):

The interpreter always rocks, it is amazing to watch them:

The awesome orchestra:

Our view of the guest narrator no zoom:

NPH (Neil Patrick Harris) was in the house and I took about a gazillion pictures of him.

I am going to be a good girl and stop now. I actually put the camera down a couple of times just to listen to him, that is a miracle in itself. After the show was over Scott, aka ScottNY, came of to talk to us for a couple of minutes. We NEVER take pictures together I always forget, he was looking great!! We knew we would see each other a couple of more times over our trips so he went off with his family. We always wait for the area to clear out before we move along, a CM joked that she couldn’t let me go a certain way so I joked that we would just stay for the next show, she laughed at that.

We were going to go eat at the CS at the America pavillion but ran into tazdev3225, aka Lorrie and her hubby again. We talked for quite awhile. I had known her online for a while, it was so nice to really get to talk to her and Jim is hilarious. They are great people, I am so thankful for the DIS it has brought so many great people in our lives. After we said goodbye to them we had our CS and decided we would just go back to the room for the night. I love Epcot at night.

On our way out the International Gateway we saw this at the France Pavillion:

Toni, aka oregonmommyof2 had surprised me by contacting WDW and putting some money for room charges for my birthday. I thought this would be a great thing to use the money for. Bill and I both saw the dog drawing on the right and had the same idea. I went to ask how much it would cost. Front view $38, profile $19. Remember Ace’s intro picture??

We went for it and documented Bruno and the process. He is doing this by using the picture on my cell phone.

I was in tears watching the process, no less than 15 people stopped to watch him. Two other ladies were crying right along with me, they couldn’t get over how amazing this picture was.

The finished product:

http://s190.photobucket.com/user/mr.../WDW Dec 2 2013 camera/WDWDec2013282.jpg.html

It is the best souvenir I have ever gotten, I can never thank you enough Toni!!

We decided to catch a bus at the Boardwalk. It gave us a reason to visit there again:

Some of their pretty decorations:

We hopped at DTD bus, then a Pop bus talking about what tomorrow would bring. It was going to be a Be Our Guest/ MVMCP party kinda day.

Next installment...What do you mean the MVMCP is sold out?

I'm loving your trip report! Tears and all!

I'm surprised that cast member put Bill right behind a pole. Rude.
Glad you were able to move.

Thanks for sharing. I'm enjoying! popcorn::

I am so jealous you got amazing pics of NPH. I was so glad we had wonderful weather.

Jim and I enjoyed spending time with you both before lunch and after the show. And you are right he is a riot. He is such a people person. It was so nice finally getting to meet you and Bill in person.

Your lunch and view were very nice. I've eaten at Teppan Edo but that wasn't very far out of my comfort zone. I am not a fan of sushi.

That picture of Ace is awesome. I will have to do that one day for Jim with a picture of our Nikki. He really misses her and that is the perfect gift.

Looking forward to more.

So glad you got back to this TR!!!!

I so love that picture of Ace! I really wish I would have taken the time to get a picture of my mom and I done. Perhaps next time!

I swear the next time we go (in a million years) I am making everyone go to the CP!! By that time, the kids will be old enough to sit still the whole time!

That picture of Ace is so great! Now I want some of my doggys!

Nice view from dinner; sorry you didn't get to sit down front.
