How to Plan a Private Anniversary Dessert Party at Epcot

We were at UK Pubside which I absolutely loved. I posted pictures of the set up in my post, but not sure if you're seeing thumbnails only (don't know how to edit my old post to show full images as opposed to thumbnails)... I have a crappy camera for night/fireworks shots so I just took a video of Illuminations, and made a few screen grabs. We had an awesome time.

Also, the billing issue got sorted out today. They will not charge us for guests under 3 years old, as per the contract.

Thanks for all your pics. I'm at UK pubside on October 19 for my birthday celebration. Your pics get me so excited.

image.jpeg Just got back from the party. It was wonderful in every way. The kids loved it. Everything tasted wonderful. Here are a few pics. I loved the milk. Cake was so good. We had a meat and cheese platter with crackers. Also had chocolate covered strawberries. The Cronuts were so delicious. We had butterscotch marshmallow bars, sugar cookies and ice cream novelties. The cake was enormous, although I only ordered a six inch. I think it had to do with Cinderella's slipper being so large. I guess she has big feet like me!

With special thanks to Lurkyloo, we had an amazingly wonderful Illuminations Dessert party at UK Pubside last week to celebrate my son and daughter in law's wedding. We had 9 people at the event.

Really, this whole event went really well. The Disney staff did a great job during the event. The food was amazing. The show was super and everyone loved it. The highlight of the trip. UK Pubside is a great location with a front row center view of the event, lots of seating, and a roof in the event of rain.

We had a "modified" Star Buffet with: White and Dark Chocolate eclairs, Viking Chocolate Mousse*, individual Tiramisu, Key lime Tart, Caramel Ganache Bars with sea salt, Lemon Pound cake with berries and whipped cream**, Raspberry Lemonade, water, coffees, tea.

* proved to be a little too heavy/fudgy - would have preferred a more whipped mousse dessert
** got marshmallow creme instead of whipped cream by mistake

There was some confusion at guest services escorting the in-law's parents inside. It would have been helpful to know that we should have looked for a cast member with a red lit wand near guest services. Our guide also told us that they would have escorted people from both entrances - as our older son and wife had to unnecessarily take an Uber from the Swan to the front entrance of Epcot, when actually someone was also waiting for them at the back entrance.

Just wanted to pass this on...
We are planning to do a dessert party after our Memories wedding in January 2016. We were offered Bonsai Terrace for that evening for our party of 10. When I requested UK Pubside, Disney Catering said that they don't book that space anymore and need to get park approval. It takes about a week to hear back. (We just requested it so still waiting.)

That's what they told me for our party of five, held a couple of weeks ago. We had no trouble with approval. Good luck and have fun. Let us know what menu you settle on. I know we plan on doing it again and I love the ideas every one brings to the table.

Hi,

Would you know the pricing for a party of 5? (minimum etc) Do you have to have 10 guests or can they do something for such a small party? TY

It came to $420. I put a $100 deposit down. The venue fee, including tax was $106.50. The food and beverage minimum was $250 I think. 23% gratuity. I only had five guests. It was no problem.

We had birthday cake (I ordered a six inch for $46, but they supplied a ten inch for the same price). Also had cotton candy, Cronuts, Minnie Mouse sugar cookies, marshmallow butterscotch bars, chocolate covered strawberries, ice cream novelties, meat, Cheese and fruit with crackers, cartons of Mickey Milk.

This is such a great thread! While I am not a bride, I am looking to have a desert party to surprise my family! It has been a crazy year, my mom retired and turned 70! I was diagnosed with breast cancer last feb( I am ok!) but we had to cancel our planned August trip. My husband turned 40 this year as well! Lots of ups and downs. I would love to surprise my family who were so amazing supporting me, caring for my children this past year! We will be a group of 6 , so uk pubside looks perfect. Thank you all for the information! I will let you know how this goes for me, planning to call in the am

Also do I understand correct that we can get a disneynphotographer( for a charge) to be at the event?

Yes, they always say that. But getting approval never seems to be a problem.

You have to pay for a minimum of 10 guests. The food and beverage minimums depend on the venue. U.K. Pubside and Bonsai Terrace are the cheapest.

Also do I understand correct that we can get a disneynphotographer( for a charge) to be at the event?

Yes. Disney Fine Art Photography charges $350 for dessert party photography. They're great at shooting the fireworks but not so great at shooting the people, so if that's important to you, you might want to bring a local wedding photographer instead.

Well I just tried to get info and I was told I cant book unless I have 10 people, I said I would pay for 10 but prob have 6, she would not give me any info and told me they WILL NOT let me even pay for 10, I must physically have 10?

How does bonsai Terrace compare to uk pubside?

You can see photos here: http://disneytravelbabble.com/disney-weddings/wdw-venue-photos/#epcot

Yes, that is what they always say on the first call. You just say, "OK!" and tell them you'd like to be put in touch with a planner.

We did get approval for UK Pubside today! We are going to go with the "Young At Heart" Dessert Party which is the smallest/cheapest menu since we are going to have a 1-tier 8"-10" wedding cake also. I thought the other menus would be too much food along with the cake. I emailed pictures of the cake we would like to have, and I am waiting for a price for that.
