Here's what a little PIXIE DUST can do ....... a dining review+pics COMPLETED!!!!!

Boma breakfast looks yummy, love the look of all those pastries :)

You should be getting paid by Disney for all the business you are drumming up for them- your reviews helped me choose some restaurants.;)

I'm at VWL right now and we ate at Kouzinna's last night. Due to your review I got the sangria (loved it), calamari (DH and I shared it and he's still raving about it) and shared the grilled whole fish (yellow snapper)- hands down the best grilled fish we've ever had and the tableside filleting was greatly appreciated and a little bit of a "show" in itself. We shared the side of brussel sprouts and couldn't finish it although we loved it and want to recreate the capers/lemon at home when I make them. I asked/strongly suggested that DH let me order for us and he is delighted that I did; he agrees he would have ordered differently and would have regretted it after seeing my meal.

I have loved all the photographs of food porn you have posted- the calamari and sangria were exactly what we got (DH wants me to find some glasses for us just like the sangria).:goodvibes

Thank you! I am so happy you enjoyed Kouzzina - your fish sounds great and next time we will have to insist on the brussel sprouts :lmao: (our server completely forgot about them)
Enjoy your stay at WDW!!! :goodvibes

We LOVE breakfast at Boma! It's a great selection and it is something different.

The Boma Breakfast looks really tasty :)
Thanks as always for the great reviews :thumbsup2

You are welcome! Boma is really nice!

I did peek on the calendar - NICE!!!

:lmao: I am so happy you did! ;) It's worth it though, isn't it! :rotfl2:

I have a question for you! I am not a fan of goat cheese (I tried it only once when it was a dollop on a pasta dish) but the goat cheese eggs at Boma sound delicious as does the pizza at WGPE that has it on there. Does the goat cheese have a distinct flavor in both of those dishes? :confused3

Oh my goodness. I can't even imagine "Day 8" being placed in front of me. Where would anyone (or any two) put all that? :rotfl:

I am not a huge fan of strong goats cheese myself. I like the creamy stuff, that just has a slight hint of goats cheese to it. But here in Austria we have a lot of different goats cheeses and some are VERY strong in smell and flavour - these are NOT the ones I like.

The goats cheese scrambled eggs could have been cream cheese/curd scrambled eggs as well. No strong goats cheese flavour.
You could taste it more on the WPE pizza, but it still was a very creamy and light goats cheese taste. Sorry I can't help any more!

We've tried to attack that thing a few times now and we have always been unsuccessful in finishing it! But I can tell you it is GOOD!!!!
Maybe you, Nicki, Mark, ups, sorry ROMEO, Todd, Tom and I should try it one day! ;) :rotfl:

Oh, I forgot - if you go to Day 8 of my trip report (link is in my signature) you can see how we did last summer! :lmao:

What a perfect idea!!! Can we go now? It's snowing here -- 3-6 inches predicted and I HATE WINTER AND ESPECIALLY SNOW! :headache:

Why don't you come down to Florida in 66 days from now? We are really looking forward to our "winter break"!
It's not snowing here YET, but I guess we won't be lucky and without snow for very much longer. Snow - yuck!! :scared1:

Just stepping in on the goats cheese conversation. I love goats cheese and it can have a very mild and creamy flavour. Most of the time when I order it I don't find it strong enough so I am sure that to most people it will taste soft, creamy and delicious so don't be put off and give it a go - enjoy :-)

Thanks girls! I will definitely try the eggs at Boma because if I don't like them, it's not a big deal! :)

Hi! Boma breakfast looks great! We're headed there for breakfast in February and I'm really looking forward to it. Personally, I LOVE goat cheese, so I'll be on the lookout for those eggs.

I just found your thread last night, and stayed up reading all of your reviews! I must have seen that Boma would be the next up, because when I woke up this morning my first thought was, "I think I'll eat at Boma for Breakfast," then I remembered that I wasn't at WDW! :rotfl2:

Thank you for helping out! :flower3:

:thumbsup2 My guess is that you will like them! If not - they have regular scrambled eggs as well! ;)

Boma breakfast is making me hungry!

My too! :lmao:

Could it be that we will be at the CSR at the same time? I looked at your ticker and it looks VERY much like mine! :goodvibes

I am so glad you joined us! And don't worry - I wake up dreaming about Disney (and its food) too! :rotfl:

Still day 21, Sept 4

Lunch at The Wave

So after we had filled up at Boma we spent the morning at Disney Hollywood Studios. We rode the Tower of Terror and Rock'n'Rollercoaster and we went on Toy Story Mania, strolled through the park and looked at some of the shops. Around mid day we left the Studios and drove to the Contemporary Resort for our lunch at the Wave.

We love the Wave, but have never eaten lunch there. So we were really looking forward to it.
We arrived right on time and signed in and were taken to our table immediately and we were stunned!! The place was empty. There were only about 5 other tables with guests and this was in the middle of free dining.

Our server was very nice, but her English was really hard to understand. She tried her best though and we really enjoyed being her guests.
First she took our drinks order and tried to explain the menu. Since we did not understand much it was a case of "just smile back at her".
We both ordered our usual drinks, Diet Cokes and told her that we would like appetizers and would use our Tables In Wonderland discount for these.

I had the Seasonal Soup with Chef’s Accompaniment, which was sweet corn and bacon soup and a chili corn muffin.
The soup was creamy with lots of sweet corn and bacon bits and the muffin was really good. It tasted like cornbread but had a really nice kick to it from the chili. Very good combination.

Tom had the Black Bean Chili with Pork Tenderloin and Jalapeño Corn Muffin. I tried a spoonfull and it was really nice and spicy.

Tom's main course was Today’s Sustainable Fish, which was striped bass with Edamame Stew and Cilantro Chutney. He REALLY enjoyed it and cleaned his plate.

I had my heart set on the Spice-crusted Chicken Salad with Local Greens, Apples, and crispy Polenta Croutons. I LOVED my salad. There was lots of greens with a very nice tangy dressing. The chicken was moist and tender and the Polenta Croutons were crisp on the outside and soft and chewy and yummy on the inside. Did I mention that I loved this salad? ;)

On to desserts!

IMG_3411.jpg

Couldn't resist taking a photo of both our choices.

IMG_3412.jpg

Tom chose the No Sugar Added Desserts Chocolate-Mint Mousse, Fresh Berries with Panna Cotta, Vanilla Bean Créme Brûlée.

My choice was A Sweet Ending to Your Celebration . . . Creamy Indulgence
Cheesecake with Raspberry Coulis, Coconut Panna Cotta with Passion Fruit Drizzle, Chocolate-Passion Fruit Mousse with Pecan-Olive Brittle

IMG_3417.jpg

I am not the biggest fan of Cheesecake, but I love this one. It is not too sweet and it goes so well with the Raspberry Coulis.

IMG_3418.jpg

Coconut Panna Cotta with Passion Fruit Drizzle. Love Coconut, love Panna Cotta, so that was a winner from the start.

IMG_3419.jpg

Chocolate-Passion Fruit Mousse with Pecan-Olive Brittle. Well, this one speaks for it self - chocolate and fruit - heaven and there is just not enough of that Pecan-Olive Brittle! ;)

When we had finished our meals we were the last guests at the Wave! So nice to have a whole restaurant to ourselves and it was SO quiet in there. :thumbsup2:lmao:

After our lunch we drove back to Old Key West and enjoyed a little downtime in our villa.

So what did we actually cost Disney?
6 CS credits = $ 151 (18 CS credits remain)
The Wave = $ 60,20
6 TS credits = $ 214,20 (16 TS credits remain)
2 snack credits = $ 7,00 (22 snack credits remain)
all in all = $ 432,40
(only accounting for the things covered by the DDP!! Not covering any items purchased OOP)

Next up - Wishes Dessert Party during Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party

I don't think the Wave would be to mine and DBF's liking, but that pork looks AMAZING!
I have been looking forward to your Dessert Party review! Hope you took lots of pictures:goodvibes I'm seriously hoping they make this a permanent thing and DBF and I can do it next August!

Yum, loving the look of the sustainable fish at the Wave and the desserts....we've never been, so this is a definite maybe now!

can't believe how empty it is during free dining!
