Help Needed - Ideas for things to do in Loughborough/Leicester 1/2 term week

Eldest DS is on two morning courses (swimming) at Loughborough Uni on the Thurs. and Fri of half term week, are there any attraction or places of interest I can take the boys in the afternoon, I don't fancy sitting in the hotel room. I although we travel to Sheffield and Manchester alot for swimming this will be the first time in this area and as DH can't come will need to entertaint he boys 15 & 11. A shopping centre with a cinema would be great they can go to the pictures and I could shop!!!!

For shopping/cinema you could go to Fosse Park for shopping and then a few minutes up the road is the Meridian Leisure Park where there is a multiplex Vue cinema, bowling and various restaurants including Burger King, Frankie & Benny's, a Mexican and Pizza Hut.

Both are near junction 21 of the M1, so easy to get to from Loughborough either down the M1 or the A6

Thursdays used to be the casting day at the Taylor Bell Foundary.
It might be worth checking to see what time they do it. There are only two bell founders left in England of which the Loughborough one is one.
