Does anyone know of any good self-tanners?

I am pastier than pasty. This winter is going to be pretty rough on me, I'm starting to get so white I look sickly. I can't tan here because of the weather, and I prefer not to use a tanning salon. I'd need a light tone, I tried medium this summer and it made me really streaky. Any suggestions are welcome!

=)

The only one I've ever used was the stuff from Bath and Body Works. It's a gradual tanner, and the color is good. It just has a slight smell, like all self tanners do, and it kiiiinda leaves a slightly greasy layer on your skin.

I'm actually thinking of buying a bottle of it soon, because I'm turning really white too. I hate it.

I haven't found any yet. The one from Bath and Body Works didnt work for me either.

none of them have ever worked for me.
so i just fake bake when i REALLY need to tan.
which isn't very often.
just for prom and stuff.

I used to use gradual tanners because anything else was orange.
I'm snow white pale and jergens worked well for me.

I've used Jergens before, and it worked REALLY good for me.
One thing I learned though, is to not put it on your face, because it'll turn you orange. lol

I just go to a tanning salon now, and I'm so happy, because I'm finally getting my tan back. :-)
I just don't want to be ghostly white for Disney. lol

I second that. I can never get a good tan on certain spots on my body, and jergens is starting to give me a glow.

I've only used it twice though and have only put it on my face. I hope I don't turn orange like an oompa loompa though, haha.

Being orange is kind of weird and a lot of girls in my school have extremely orange palms

I looked like an oompa loompa, when I used that crap. lol
It was sooo embarrassing, and it was my freshman year too. lmao

I never did it after that. lol
My palms turned orange and I looked like I had a mustache. hahah

:lmao: Thanks for the pre-warning.
I'll be careful now when I apply it. :p

I can't reccommend one, mostly because I don't need them.

Yeah, I know, I live really far north. Goggle tans suck- but only sometimes. Like when they burn instead of tan the first few times.. I only get one every once in a while, but all of the really super hardcore skiiers/boarders here get them all the time. It's basically a really white patch of skin whhere your goggles sit while the rest of your face tans like you've been sitting on Miami Beach for three months. But we wear them like they're a badge of honour. Yeah, I know. Weird. That's a ski town's way of thinking for you.

Anyway. I also don't need them because I'm part Native American (like.... 3 percent or something...), but what I did inheiret from that part of my family was an almost perpetual tan. I'm not super dark skinned like full-blooded Native Americans (or even Italians or Greeks), just nicely lightly tanned. It's what keeps me from burning in the summer.

But anyway. While I was typing this, I was also on the phone with my friend who is pasty white and not a skiier/boarder and she reccommends Jergens as well.

I use Jergen's natural glow for medium skin tones.
It's a gradual tanner and it makes you a "shade darker" (whatever that means) in 3 days.
It really does work but you have to be CAREFUL when applying it.
It's VERY easy to get spots/streaks and REALLY wash your hands after.
I only use it on my arms and legs really. because being winter i don't show my back or stomach and i don't want it on my face!! my face has a BIT of a tint so it would look stupid if i put it on my face.

It works pretty well but you just have to be REALLY careful how you use it!

I don't use self tanner. Generaly i'm pretty pale but thats pretty different around here (i'm a california girl) And if i was tanner i'd just look weird. I don't mind being pale. Having a tan just means you have more of a risk of skin cancer (natural sun tans) And i don't like the way self tanners look. I did it on my legs once (in winter) And it turned out all streaky.

I've used Jergens and it didn't work at ALL! I think I might just go tanning, because the way I look right now, I look sickly. I don't want a tan, I just want some color.

Okay, does anyone have any good recommendations for a tanning salon? Airbrush only, not beds. I'm not willing to chance getting cancer again.

No suggestions from me :(

I've used Jergen's, and it worked for me.

I know what you mean about being pale. I always look paler or yellower, because of the anemia.
