Going to Knotts?

I am going to move this over to the more specific board, so it won't get buried here on the DLR board :)

My next door neighbor tried to say Knotts is cleaner then DL.........it was like I wanted to shake her and ask if she was crazy! I am amazed at the difference in the way DL is kept up next to other parks.

I have to agree with you there. Disneyland is probably the cleanest park I've ever been to. That includes every park t Disneyworld.

Whenever I visit Knott's I try not to stay in one place to long or else I might stick.

Six Flags Magic Mountain is also pretty shabby but that's because the park is running out of cash. Their rides are fantastic but the rest of the park suffers in order to maintain them. I watched a "parade" there once and I felt a little bad for the folks trying their darndest to put on a good show. They also have short shows every now and then in front of the fountain (near the loop of Revolution) and I felt compelled to put a cup down in front of them and throw in a couple bucks and some spare change.

Has anybody been in the past year? I haven't been there in a couple years so I don't know how much has changed.

I am interested in doing knotts.
do any of you have a park map?
I would send you a SASE?
:goodvibes

I went by myself years ago and waited until 4pm to get 1/2 price tickets. I checked their site and the adult tickets are 1/2 price after 4pm, kids are regular price. I also went last summer with a Girl Scout trip. My daughter and I had a blast, it was her first trip to a theme park. We were one of the last ones to be escorted out. I will say that most of the people in the group thought that the food was awful. We don't eat meat and had a hard time finding anything, and of course there was a handful who got sick (all ate at the same place).

I was thinking of going one evening while we are on our Disneyland trip. My daughter is most interested in going back to see Snoopy. But I'm going to wait and see and let her make-up her mind once we get there and go to Disneyland a couple days.

I honestly haven't done Knott's in a very long time. I would only go once a year for Halloween Haunt which is pretty darned fun and I highly recommend it if you're going to visit the area in October.

Tickets are a little pricey but you can get coupons from Burger King. You can get tickets from Ticketmaster and usually the promo code is "knotts" so you don't actually need anything. The earlier in the month you go the better since the cast is much more into it and the crowds are smaller.

I don't think their maps are all that special so most people don't keep them for a very long period of time. I think we kept all of ours but they're for Halloween Haunt so none of the attractions are the same. You should be able to see the map on their website.

Our family goes to knotts alot since we have a season pass that allows us to go to a local theme park in our area that is connected with knotts so for about 40 or so dollars more then I got the pass that we can visit knotts and got our money's worth on the pass.
Knotts is fun but isnt kid friendly and dirty in my opinion. There are a lot of rude teenagers and angry kids and parents. I guess they need disney magic there. A lot of times I see them cleaning the rides after someone gets sick on them which ruins the ride for me. I like riding the stage coach which is unique. Ok, I just go there for the jelly so I can tell everyone that I bought the original jelly from knotts, just kidding.

Knotts definetly has geared more towards teenagers and young adults since putting in all those thrill rides, thus changing a lot of it's customer base. Plus Knott's is a very popular spot for field trips as well, disneyland isn't. My suggestion to anyone debating wether to go to Knotts or not would be if they are a fan of thrill rides and also have extra time to spend then go, if you don't have extra time or not a fan of thrill rides then go elsewhere.

I just went to Knotts on Friday and it sure has changed a lot since i was little (I'm 23). If you're not a fan of thrill rides there really isn't that much to do. It wasn't crowded at all when we went so we went on everything we wanted to in 4 hours. I was disappointed because my fav. ride Big Foot Rapids was closed because they're building another roller coaster back there. Overall it was still fun and the $25 I spent on my ticket was worth it.

Hi:goodvibes, I planned for the trip next month. So tell me " How would I get there from Disneyland?" tell me!!
