I just got the rest of it put up--I hit 'enter' too soon by mistake the first time!Loving it all so far, Jamie! Thanks!
Trust me, it was my limit of spontaneity! By the way, I've been catching up on your blog tonight and I'm so jealous you got to see Capt. Jack! Great pictures everywhere!

I'm thoroughly enjoying it all too Jamie, especially the food porn.
That is an impressive sampler you got. Sorry you ended up on the crazy roadrunner roads (as my Spouse and I call them, because we expect to see Wille Coyote falling off of one of those cliffs). My Mom complains that such roads should be labled with a skull and crossbone on maps.
I can't wait to see what your next day brings!
Thank you! Capt Jack is awesome!
Ok, you're sampler platter looks sooooo good! I probably should have had dinner before reading your update
I don't think I would have survived the mountain drive, I would have been freaking out big time
great update and wonderful pictures ...
That sampler platter looked awesome! And I hope that I never have to ride that road with my DH.....he gives me panic attacks everytime we drive to Asheville! We took a trip to Bryson City last December, and I was sure we were going to plunge over the edge every 5 minutes!
I got "both halves" this afternoon. For a minute I thought I was losing my mind, though.
Hey! That's MY Lamborghini, and it's AUBURN orange !!!!!!!!
Okay not really but if it WERE my Lamborghini it would be Auburn Orange
I followed you over from Nebo's report with that free SunnyD offer and I'm glad I did. Your report has so many similarities to my life !
I grew up in the south (GA where we still live) and cut my Disney teeth on WDW. My DH grew up in CA going to Disneyland. We try to visit his Mom every other year and always include a trip to DL.
I'm loving the pictures of SoCa, we're due to go out there this Christmas and I'm soooo ready, it's been too long. Can't wait to see more.
Oh and another thing we have in common, DH and I are doing a mini trip to WDW for F&W in Oct that I have let HIM plan Oh My gosh It was tough at first but I'm in the middle of planning my niece's wedding that will take place the weekend before, so I needed someone else to take over and give me a break, we'll see how that goes. It seem to be working for you so far

I was told that Dec. was the time to come to California, that everything is green instead of brown. That was the biggest shock for us for several days, seeing brown mountains. You'll have to do a TR when you get back, too!
I am loving everything!
Yes, December can be better depending on the fires! Malibu has been struck hard the last few years with huge fires and nothing has been able to recover. December is usually nice and we have had a little rain by then. San Diego has been VERY cool for us this summer and the grey doesn't burn off till 9 or 10am. I am hoping that this means we will have a year without evacuations! I can remember a time we actually had orange trees down the middle of the freeway near Disneyland. WOW! I am OLD! Come on El Nino!
It's funny I've only been to CA in Winter! We don't have kids so we don't travel in Summer, my idea of CA is always green. I know it gets dry and brown in Sunmmer though.
Whogirlsmom as far as my DH planning a Disney trip he's a former castmember too so he knows the ropes. I did chose the dates and resort and sorta laid out a plan before I let him take over. Mostly he just did the ADRs, hows that for letting go of control ! Okay well not so much
Ooh, did you go to BC for the Christmas train? We went for the fall train tour one year and loved it! This road made the NC roads look spacious!QUOTE]
Yes, that's exactly what we did....my MIL saw that the "Polar Express" was going to be there, and decided that all of the grandkids...6 of them at the time....had to go on it. The only problem was that by the time she found out about it, the only time available was a school night, and we live about 4 1/2 hours from BC. So we drove 4 1/2 hours to get there, rode the train for 45 minutes and then got back in the car to drive another 4 1/2 hours back! The kids had a good time...but the adults in the trip all agreed that if we did it again, it would be on a weekend so that we could stay the night instead of driving 8 hours in one day and then getting home after midnight!
Enjoying the report very much. Thanks but did anyone else have the theme song from MASH running thru their heads while looking at those pics?hmm maybe I've had too many cups of coffee this am
Dh's just not from a planning family; it's taken me years to get him where he is now!
You sound like you give up control like I do! This year I decided I needed to feel more appreciated for all the vacation planning I do, so I hinted to dh that it would be nice if he did a little something for me...You know what he said? "With my luck I would plan something and it would be when you already had something planned somewhere else and you'd get mad at me." This should be fun to follow, huh?

I would have had to have been the bad mom and let them miss a day of school. But I'm glad y'all had a good time! We're going to Dollywood close to Christmas to see the Polar Express 4-D--should be a pretty good ride.

I love seeing new readers! Funny you should mention that because it reminded me....
You're absolutely right ! And do you know why?
Because that's where they filmed it !
Korea looks like Southern California for a reason
Never thought about it before but now I can totally see it.
I knew that somehwere in the back of my brain!
Ya know, he has a point At least that's how it would work at my house
I told him I didn't want to do anything extra (there's already too much to smush in 6 days as it is); I just wanted to know they appreciate all my efforts! Why is it so hard after many years together, for men to remember how to surprise their sweeties? Yesterday was our 16 year anniversary of our first date--know when he remembered? About 8 p.m. when I asked him if he remembered what today was.
I am planning on updating today if nothing happens! All you lurkers come out and say "hi"!

Hey, Olivia, how do you feel about running through the airport like your pants were on fire??
