Just to add to why go offsite-if it is a resort day or taking a break from parks-really not that much longer than getting to ADR, waiting to be seated, served, bill, and transportation back to what you were doing anyway. I find the time estimates when people really don't like to do something are sometimes exaggerated
However-for just a family of 2-3 or those with younger kids hassle may not be worth it nor will price really factor in. If you have 5 or more in family or teens with hearty appetites just 2 meals off site easily-easily- takes care of rental car for a week-especially with Groupon specials etc.
