Go to 'Share, 'Grab the HTML/BBCode, choose the size, click on 'BBCode, then copy and paste that right into the message box. You no longer need to use the mountain picture.

I am having difficulties putting pics in these forums from Flickr... Apparently i have been away a while cause they used to put the link under the photo, and now I see I have to use the Share button and "Grab the Link" but it isn't working for me? Am I missing a step somewhere. All I get on the post is a little tiny box like the image never loads?

Thanks in advance for any help you all can provide...

When you're "Grabbing the Link", are you also "copying and pasting", too?

Once you place the cursor in the "Grab the Link" box, press CTRL-A to highlight the entire selection (ie. select All). Then press CTRL-C to copy.

When you come here to Disboards, insert the link to your photo by using the Insert Image button (
insertimage.gif
) like you always have, and then CTRL-V to paste.

Alternatively, Flickr also has a "Grab the BBCode" that works for this message board. Make sure you specifically select "BBCode" at the bottom of the link.

When you use "Grab the BBCode", you can paste the BBCode directly in your reply (ie. you DON'T need to use the Insert Image button).

Let me try testing this out:

Untitled by flickrboy2003, on Flickr

Hope that helps. :)

Step 1: click on the earth and chain link icon right under the smiley face in the Dis boards reply to to thread window.

Step 2: This opens a window that says Please enter the URL of your link:
Enter in your main page for your flicker account.
mine is http://www.flickr.com/photos/marlton-mom/
Hit ok then hit enter to remove the blue highlighted link.

WHILE KEEPING YOUR CURSOR RIGHT WHERE YOU LEFT IT IN THE ABOVE BOX
PROCEED TO STEP 3

Step 3 in the Dis board reply to thread window click on the yellow box with the mountain and square sun icon.

Step 4: Now go to your flicker page and click on the picture that you want to post. In the upper left hand corner you will see a tab that says SHARE THIS.
~ click on the tab to pull down the menu.~

Step 5: SELECT Grab the HTML/BBCode
This opens a box that has this in it
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/marlton-mom/4943810848/" title="Gratuitous picture of our LEG LAMP by Marlton Mom, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4136/4943810848_25bcca8832.jpg"

Step 6: Highlight, COPY and eventually paste only the part that says this:
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/marlton-mom/4943810848/" title="Gratuitous picture of our LEG LAMP by Marlton Mom, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4136/4943810848_25bcca8832.jpg"

and place it in the open box in the Dis boards reply to thread window

Step 7: click enter and then scroll down to PREVIEW POST button on the Dis boards reply to thread window (lower right under reply box) to see if you were successful!

Please enjoy this gratuitous picture of my leg lamp as proof that this works...

smoochies, :love1:

PS. Now for the bonus... if you were paying attention you would have noticed a box at the bottom of the [/B]SELECT Grab the HTML/BBCode window that has Medium 640 (640 x 480) in it.
If you click on that box you will notice size options for displaying your picture.

Some girls will tell you that size matters, especially when posting a picture to the Dis boards photo contest pages.... Right rtphokie??? ;)

It even posts the image name and photographer beside the pic rather than underneath it now. It's not doing that for anyone else?

Did I alter my settings somehow?

First of all, that's a shameless way to show off your new arrival ;)

Second, all of those images, no matter what size, show the names to the right of the photo for me.

Do some show under the pics for you Scott?

I heard there is a way to see what settings people used on their camera to take pictures they post on flickr? i see some really nice photos on flickr and i'm just starting to learn how to use my camera so i would love to see the settings they used on the types of photos i want to take so i can learn from that.

Some people have it hidden.

But for those that don't like this one:

Click on Actions above the photo, then you'll see View EXIF.

You can also click on the camera type (I.e. Nikon D90) in the "This was taken on..." area.
