Happy Monday ladies!!
We're Baaaack! And we had a great time!
Pretty uneventful. We left around 6, stopped for gas and McDonald's and then were on our way.
We got in around 9pm and checked in with no problems! We stayed in the 50s building which was fun as we've never stayed there before. After we dropped our stuff off in the room we headed over to the food court and the gift shop!
It was BUSY! We were shocked that people were eating dinner that late. We had some hot chocolate (Disney has the BEST hot chocolate!!), watched Stacey on TV, and went to bed.
Saturday:
Our alarm was set for 6:45am but we always wake up earlier when we know we're going to the parks!! Apparently, we're those kids from the 90s Disney commercials who "can't sleep because they're so excited!".. anyone remember those?
We grabbed some breakfast at POP! Max had the Bounty Platter which had pretty much everything on it. I was on the hunt for a Mickey Head Waffle but settled for this instead... see how I made it into a Mickey Head waffle?
We drove to EPCOT and were there about 30 minutes before Rope Drop and got in line. It was a gorgeous day! Chilly but not too bad! We rode Spaceship Earth first, then went to Test Track, and did a little shopping.
We had been wanting to start collecting Vinylmations and wound up buying two. The one I wanted was the Park Sign one and well....
Look at that! Disney Magic at it's finest! I picked a random box and pulled out the Park Sign! I was SO EXCITED and talked about it the rest of the day.
Max got MuppetVision 3D and was really pleased! He wanted Donald in PhilharMagic but we love the Muppets so we were still happy!
We spent the afternoon walking around World Showcase and trying the food at the F&W and shopping.
We wound up trying:
1. Lamb chop from Australia-- loved it!
2. Cheddar Cheese Soup from Canada-- we weren't too impressed. I was so excited to try it after reading the DIS reviews but it was a little too spicy for me at the end. Glad we tried it though!
3. Baklava from Morocco-- loved it!
4. Pretzel Sausage from Germany-- Max tried this and really liked it! I don't get near sausage that looks like that so I can't offer my opinion
5. Swedish meatballs from Scandinavia-- these were good! I am used to Swedish meatballs being prepared differently (Max's mom is from Finland) but we still enjoyed them.
6. Pot-stickers from China-- loved it! These were my favorite!!
7. Chinese BBQ Chicken from China-- loved it! Really yummy.
Here's Max wishing he was Canadian!
We then went back over to Future World, rode TT and Spaceship Earth again, got ice-cream, and spent time at the Living Seas.
After, we rode Living with the Land twice (it's my favorite) and ate at Seasons. We also saw Captain EO for the first time. We were too young to see it/remember it when it was at the parks originally.. I like Michael Jackson and am glad we saw it but we wouldn't watch it again! Max had fun taking pictures and messing with the color effects:
We didn't stay for fireworks.. too cold for me (FL girl-born and raised!) and we were pooped. We went back to POP! and promptly fell asleep.
Sunday:
We went to DTD for the Festival of the Master's! We were only interested in seeing the Disney Art so we headed straight there. We wound up being pretty disappointed. They just moved art pieces from the Art of Animation store into tents. We saw 2 artists but didn't get a chance to speak with them. We didn't purchase anything as we weren't crazy about the prints and couldn't afford the real pieces!
We wound up eating at T-Rex Cafe and had a blast!! We were seated in the Ice Cavern and loved that it changed colors! I had tortellini and Max had guacamole burger. We sprang for dessert and got the Meteor Bites which are donut holes covered in powdered sugar. They were INCREDIBLE!!
Make it blue!
Make it pink!
Make it... um, red..?
After that, we hit the road and went home. Max is planning a surprise trip for us in December so I'm not too sad to leave but it is always sad to go-- even though you know you're going back soon!
It was clean and the grounds were well taken care of. They were refurbishing the pool and the Tramp statue in the 50s courtyard. I like to see refurbs as I know it means things are going to improve.
The food was fine and typical and the CMs were all helpful and nice!!
The room was very clean and quiet for the most part-- aside from the kids running down the halls but heck, I'd run down the halls out of excitement too!
We forgot to take pictures (sorry!) but really felt that we got a good deal and definitely enjoyed our stay. We'd go back again in a heartbeat.
Tricia- I think most guests will be happy with POP! as long as they know what they're paying for, you know? If they go in expecting the Grand FL, they'll be disappointed. It's got the makings of a great value resort and really does deliver!
We are Animation buffs and were thrilled when this resort was announced. We haven't been keeping up with the progress of it, however, and we were excited to see it in person!
Here are some pictures we took! It's clear that the Nemo building is just about done and that Cars is next on the list for completion. I cannot wait to see this resort when it's finished!!
We have more photos of the resort as well as food and us being silly on my Facebook. If you care to see them or want to be friends, feel free to add me!: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100002180263440
That's pretty much it for today!! We are taking Engagement pictures on Sunday and we're REALLY excited! In addition, my MOH is coming into town on the 16th for Thanksgiving! Woohoo!!
Thanks for reading!

POP! Review for Tricia (and everyone else)!
We are DVC members but decided to save points to use for the wedding. We got a great deal at POP! by using Hotels.com ($170 for 2 nights). We liked POP! because of the theming!

The Art of Animation Resort
So, the first night we were there we saw a building across the lake from POP! We were intrigued, of course, and decided to investigate on Sunday. We were so excited to learn that it was the new Art of Animation Resort!
