Emmysdaddy Joins the Damsels to Dine, Even with Princesses: Em started PDR see link

Brenda, just wanted to let you know that we ate lunch today at Cosmic Rays. I just have to say, if it hadn't been for you and DonaldDoleWhip, I never would have gone back there. We just got chicken nuggets, nothing exciting, but DD loved dancing to Sonny Eclipse. We had a good time, so thanks for recommending it. Now I'm trying to figure out what CS to have dinner at tonight.... We already ate at CHH the other day, and Pecos Bills made me sick last time. Decisions decisions! Heading back to MK in about an hour for MVMCP, so excited!

What a fantastic looking crew at that DISmeet! ;) It was so much fun and I wish we could have stayed longer!

I'm sorry to hear that you weren't able to eat much at Citrico's. That's a bummer. :sad1: But like the the mom you are, you're glad to see that your family enjoyed it and had a great time! I really need to try this place sometime because I've seen so many good reviews. I'm doing a solo Jiko ADR for February when I do the Princess 1/2 and then I think this might be on my list for the next trip! :thumbsup2

I too loved reading the Dis Meet entry! How fun!

I was so looking forward to your Citricos review! We are eating there in January. It will be my DH and DS's first time, my girls and I have eaten there before and it's one of our favorites. :)

I'm so sorry you weren't feeling well enough to eat/enjoy dinner there. I've known the feeling!

Your photos are beautiful, it looks like we'll be trying several of the appetizers, there is no way we can decide between them. My dds love a capresse salad with the tomatoes and fresh mozzarella and basil, so I"m sure they will like the tomato heirloom salad with the mozzarella. I can't wait to show them your photo~ it's so nice to put a picture with the menu description!

:)
I have gotten a little behind on your reviews, Brenda! For shame!

I'm so happy to see you had a nice experience at Artist Point. It was by far Mr. Roma's and my favorite dining experience on our trip.

I booked and then canceled the 'Ohana breakfast for our trip... I kinda hate Stitch . But I think we will definitely try it next time. I'm not sure Mr. Roma loves the breakfast buffets but he is a breakfast man so I think 'Ohana is a nice compromise!

Via Napoli is a must do for us next time. However, I think I will heed your warning and limit myself to one piece. I too have a stomach with very little stretching capacity!

Of course I LOVE the fact that you got to meet all those wonderful ladies!

So sorry that you were still feeling ick before Citricos :(. It really sucks to look forward to something for so long only to have it ruined by prior overeating :lmao:.

Thanks for getting caught up... now I need to do the same! :)

If Mr. Roma is not a breakfast buffet fan then 'Ohana is a good option since they bring the skillet of food to you. Of course, my all time favorite breakfast is Kona Cafe so there's not contest there.

And yes, the pizza is great but very filling at VN. As for Citricos, I did it to myself so next time I need make sure I take it easy before dinner. ::yes::

Well don't you all look so glamorous for your Citricos dinner :goodvibes

Love the photo of the three of you together

Shame you didn't feel up to eating much Brenda as everything looked really good; sounds like you had a great evening anyway :thumbsup2

Hi Linda! Yes, we got dolled up for our dinner - we had to celebrate our last dinner in style! Actually, by then it must have been some of the few clean clothes that we had. But yes, we had a great time!

Love those dismeets .... so glad that I count you among my Dis pals that I have had the honor to meet! :lovestruc

I hope you are having an AWESOME time!!! Glad that your DD enjoyed Sonny!! Ack! Sorry about Pecos Bills - no fun.

Enjoy the MVMCP! I look forward to hearing about it! :listen:

Tracy I just had a duh moment... check your FB! ;)

Jiko, I think I see that in my future!

Sorry you weren't feeling well on the evening of your Citricos ADR.

Your Dis Meets look like so much fun!

Hi Debra! Yes, Disers ROCK! And meeting them is even better. :woohoo:

I too loved reading the Dis Meet entry! How fun!

I hope you and your family enjoy Citricos in January! What a great place to have a family dinner. Speaking of appetizers, I've had the shrimp/pasta appetizer before and it was really great!

Thanks Trisha for sharing your link... you totally got me sucked in and thus the reason I'm not doing an update tonight!!! ::yes:: Love it!

Brenda, no fair SLACKING and blaming me!!:lmao:
Although I really don't want your review to come to a close....I know you are hanging on by the leftover dental floss from your last DisMeal just enough to wrap up the report!!

But hey, aren't you going soon? Am I totally spaced or do you have a holiday visit approaching??? Thought I saw you mention one somewhere....:confused3

Brenda, I don't have time to "quote" as I've so many threads to catch up on and Nicki has started her dining review and I have to get my TR started next week, but I am caught up. Love the photos of you guys at Ohanas for breakfast (we've not done it as we are not fans of Stitch and I don't eat eggs); love the DIS meet photos. Andy and Des went to Via Napoli the day we left (they stayed an extra day) and loved it.

Looking forward to more.

Uhhh you are certainly paying attention! Not exactly a holiday visit unless you count 'if pets had thumbs day'!! :lmao: It is right after your trip. I will share details shortly. :)

Welcome back!!!! I can't imagine the catching up that you have done. I enjoyed your FB updates and of course the epic reveal of the surprise!!!! I know you guys had a great time! Glad to hear you have a VN fan in your family!

I will catch Niki's DR and look for your TR as well. :)

Cinderella's Royal Table - Breakfast

DSC06920.jpg

I'm finally getting this posted..... I've put it off long enough and considering we are leaving on Saturday to go to Texas to see our son before he goes overseas... we'll, I just don't have any more excuses. So here goes... our last WDW meal of the trip. :sad1:

After checking our luggage with the airline check in we walked over to MK for our 8:35am ADR at Cinderella’s Royal Table. It was EMH at MK so we didn’t need to use the events entrance this time since the park was already opened. After a few photos while walking up Main Street we approached the castle and saw a familiar face. Tracy (Tracerr00) and Eilee were taking photos of the castle. We swapped taking photos of each other by the castle and then went to check in for our ADR.

DSC06915.jpg

We were presented with our Royal Invitation and were then asked to come into the castle to part-ay with the girls. Actually, we were directed to go stand in line behind about a dozen other people who were waiting to have their photo taken with Cinderella. She didn’t seem to recognize us even though we’ve been inside her castle to eat before! Hmph! Ok, she was beautiful and she wore her lovely blue ball gown but just once I want to see her wearing what any woman wears around the house, sweats and a ponytail! At least have a version of Cinderella wearing her work clothes including her apron and kerchief. That would be so cool!

By the way, the mice up on the ledge are pretty obvious but are there other hidden or subtle references to the movie in the lobby area? I should look closer next time.

DSC06950.jpg

After our photos we waited a couple minutes before our party was called to go up the stairs to the restaurant. Once at the top we were directed to a table to the right of the entrance on the top tier. Tina was our awesome server and I swear in another position with Disney she had to have been a Princess character. She was absolutely gracious, polite, kind and thoughtful – the perfect server to work in the castle with the princesses!!

DSC06958.jpg

We were provided OJ and presented with wands for the ladies and a sword for Michael along with wishing stars. (Not that Em needed more ammo against me!) Michael picked up his sword and asked Tina if they had anything in the battle axe or mace variety. Leave it to him to be trouble! While this exchange was occurring, Snow White passed us by – she must have had some intuition that it would be better to skip our table.

I was busy video-taping at the moment that all of the castle guests were invited to wave their wands/swords and wish upon their stars. Michael and Em were fully engaged in this activity when Michael handed me my wand and declared; “Participate!” He’s not the boss of me but then again, if we are going to dine in a castle why not wish up on a star… you never know, I may magically have that ten-million dollars appear in my bank account!

DSC06969.jpg

By the way, Tracy and Eilee were seated not too far from us. When I saw Tracy’s photos, I was in the back-ground taking photos of food/our table. Ha! Before they left Tracy asked me to take the adorable “texting in the castle” photo.

Before our breakfast orders were taken, Tina served us with a platter of danishes, breads and 2 fresh strawberries. This was a bit different than our last visit since there were more choices and not simply cinnamon rolls and chocolate chip croissants. I tried a cinnamon roll (good) and a berry Danish (very good.)

Assorted Breakfast patries and such:

For our breakfast choices, Emily went with the traditional breakfast (eggs, potatoes, breakfast meat) with a side of fruit instead of breakfast meat, Michael chose the Steak & Eggs, while I couldn’t decide…. Nothing really sounded good…. By process of elimination I ended up choosing what I ordered last time – the Cream Cheese Stuffed French toast with no meat but a side of scrambled eggs. I also asked her to hold the chocolate sauce. I just wanted the raspberry colis puddled on the plate.

Cream Cheese Stuffed French Toast: Drizzled with Cognac Chocolate Ganache served with Bacon and fresh fruit

Scambled eggs:
DSC06995.jpg

Since I had a taste of almost all of the food served I can share my opinion regarding each. Starting with my selection, the cream cheese stuffed French toast. This is more of a bread pudding and although it is very rich and sweet, it is very good – especially with the raspberry sauce. I should have asked for more sauce on the side since I requested the chocolate ganache to be held.

The scrambled eggs were moist and perfectly cooked. I had a bite of Michael’s frittata and it was just ok. For mass produced food, it was fine. I didn’t have any of the potatoes or the filet but Michael said that the steak was overcooked – such a shame for a filet. It looked like it was topped with a chimichurri sauce or something. Anyone know what that is???

My entrée was served with a side of fresh berries – strawberries and raspberries which were good. However, Em received a bowl of fresh fruit which consisted mostly of melon which she doesn’t really like so unfortunately, it did not get eaten.

Em's side of fruit:

While we were eating, the Princesses circulated the room. We had the pleasure of welcoming to our table Aurora, Belle, and Ariel. Apparently Snow White had some chores to do or had to entertain some little men because she still did not show up.

DSC07004.jpg

Tina presented Michael and me with a celebration cupcake – what a nice gesture!

DSC06997.jpg

She did ask for our TiW card since something “didn’t match” on the receipt. Since this is prepaid and I had already been credited the TiW discount, I’m not sure what the issue may have been since she returned my card and didn’t ask for anything further. The total for the three of us was $131 which included the photo with Cinderella.

I asked Tina if Snow White was still coming around and she said that she would check for us. I should have just skipped her since it really wasn’t a big deal but Elizabeth, the character escort, came over and told us that it would be a few minutes since they had to formally announce her entrance. Makes sense! With that we did get to pose with Snow White and she was just as charming as ever. We thanked her for going out of her way to see us.
DSC07013.jpg

Our final photo was taken with our lovely server Tina. Funny that Michael didn’t pose with any princesses for this meal but he gladly posed with Tina!
Because Michael wasn’t happy with our photo with Cinderella in the folio we asked to have a re-take done. That was no problem. We handed in our bad photo, posed for a new one, and waited a few minutes before they delivered the updated folio. Breakfast took almost exactly one hour from the time we arrived to the time we left.

Next Up: A meal at 30,000 feet.

Great review and photos with the princesses. Yet another place we've never eaten.

I'll PM you when I get the TR started.

Hi Brenda!

First - I hope all goes well with your son's deployment. Here's to wishing him a safe return back to the states and an uneventful deployment.

We were at CRT for dinner on our vacation (I can't believe we have been back for almost a week!!) It was by far the best family meal on our vacation. The food was good (nothing amazing) however the characters, process and our server were amazing! This is now a staple for every trip - however I think we are going to try for breakfast next time. The castle was pretty dark at night. It looks like as always you had a great time and sounds like a perfect "last meal" at Disney!

Aww say it ain't so - this CAN'T be the last meal of your review :(

Two choices

A) I convince my boss I have to got to LA for "work" again

OR

B) you are in WDW the first two weeks of Dec 2013!

Ha ha - both are unlikely but either way your reviews are awesome and I look forward to the next batch :)

I love Michael's Green Bay shirt and the mice in the castle. I did not know there were mice on the ledge. How cute.

Good luck in Texas!

Ok, she was beautiful and she wore her lovely blue ball gown but just once I want to see her wearing what any woman wears around the house, sweats and a ponytail! At least have a version of Cinderella wearing her work clothes including her apron and kerchief. That would be so cool!

I agree! At least there's Belle, in her sweet little, simple little blue dress. I guess that hoop from the ballroom dress could take out a couple of diners if she wasn't careful.

Great, delicious reviews!!!

It was great to see you at CRT and I look forward to seeing you and Em again in Feb!! I had no idea that you could get a retake on the photo. I really wish I'd asked for one because our first one was terrible. The shadows were very strange and it looked like Eilee and I had giant beehive hairdos! Our food was ok when we went but we loved the atmosphere and the princesses so it was worth it!

Popping in for a few notes before we leave tonight....
Great review and photos with the princesses. Yet another place we've never eaten.

I'll PM you when I get the TR started.
Thanks Kathy! I loved the first few photos you posted for your latest TR. You are such a legend around here that by the time I subscribed only hours after you started your review I was post # 38 or something. ;)

Hi there! I'm glad that you had a great family experience there. This is becoming somewhat of a tradition for us as well since we will have our 3rd last meal of the trip at CRT soon. :)

Aww say it ain't so - this CAN'T be the last meal of your review :(

Awww thanks Linda! Hmmm.. either plan A or plan B would benefit me to see you again. Are you not going during F&W next year?? Hmm... you never know...

I love Michael's Green Bay shirt and the mice in the castle. I did not know there were mice on the ledge. How cute.

Good luck in Texas!

Yes, my hubby the Packer fan. I think he knew the Tracy was a Packer fan so he wanted to sport the team colors!

Given the mice are somewhat out of sight I wonder what other Cinderella themed artifacts are there??

I agree! At least there's Belle, in her sweet little, simple little blue dress. I guess that hoop from the ballroom dress could take out a couple of diners if she wasn't careful.

Great, delicious reviews!!!

Oh my.. now I am picturing Belle wiping out a couple little ones with her ball gown.

Thanks Jersette for reading along.

I am definitely looking forward to seeing you again!

Maybe the photo people felt so bad for us since Michael took a really lousy photo! :confused3 I liked the first one. Just saying....

Hey Brenda -- Just popping in to let you know that I am thinking of you today!:hug:

Kathy - thank you so very much. I sincerely appreciate your thoughtfulness! I am waiting for Michael to get home from work and then we are heading to LAX.

Good luck to your son! Praying for all of you during this time! I have a friend who has a son that will be shipped out right after Christmas.

They have MAJORLY changed the menu since our 2010 trip to CRT. I had the stuffed french toast but it didn't look ANYTHING like that! Do you mind me sharing?

SAM_1713.jpg

Again… another meal I *thought* I'd be okay with skipping. :sad2:

Thank you for all of your reviews! I'm not much of a commenter, more of a lurker, but I enjoyed reading about all your experiences (except maybe the Brown Derby!) and seeing your photos. I hope you have a great visit with your son and a merry Christmas!
