I was just wondering what type of jobs are held by DVC members.
example: I worked for 27 years at a retail department store before it closed, now I am a Homemaker (no children) and my DH works for a plastics corporation called ALCAN.

So what do you do besides make plans for DVC vacations?

I've worked as a math teacher/instructor/assisstant professor full or part time for 35 years! I want to do this for many more years.

DH is an engineer, working in the automotive suppliers industry. He does lots of traveling for work, and his frequent flyer miles help with our DVC planning. Sometimes I even get to travel first class!

We are empty nesters.

There is a great (LONG) post about this somewhere...I'll try to bump it up for you.

I'm a Lutheran pastor in southwest Ontario, Canada -- 10 years in the pulpit this June. DW is a full-time mom, part-time retail sales (works for a specialty store selling clothing to tall women). DD-4 is part-time figure skater, part-time ballerina, learning how to do the starfish float at swimming lessons and a full-time Disney Princess.

I'm a service manager at a GMC dealership. DW is a program aide for a childrens crisis/respit home.

Hey NJMouse, ALCAN just had their new truck in our shop for repairs.

I'm an attorney, my DW is now at home with my DSs after many years working in education (lucky DSs!! :) )

I'm a medical technologist working in the microbiology lab of a local hospital; DH is a software engineer.

Both DH and I are Professors in Chemical Engineering.
DH is ALSO going to Law School so that he can get into
Intellectual Property.

A very nerdy family.

PhD research chemist here, hoping someday to exit the mfg world and teach <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/3/3_3_14.gif' alt='Teacher 2' border=0></a> (but for now industry pays too well and 3 college educations are gonna ZAP us!) DH is an environmental microbiologist -- we both have worked for the same Fortune 100 company on a large plant site for the past 11 yrs.

Yup... we're DVC-luvin' science geeks! <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/3/3_2_111.gif' alt='Scientist' border=0></a>

My sister and I are both Medical Technologist for a hospital in Memphis. We own with my children. My daughter lives in east TN and is a vet. My son lives in FL and is a computer engineer/ MBA.

The Sue half of the "sunan" sisterhood is a Human Resources Administrator for the State of New Hampshire. The Nancy half is a senior analyst in the Office of Space Science at NASA headquarters in Washington (we do the Mars rovers, Hubble Space Telescope, etc.)

Adjunct siblings/WDW runners include a travel agent in Alaska and a banker in Tokyo.

Both DH and I are accountants.

I work part time as business manager for our church/school.(This is where are children go to school)

DH is an IS Auditor in the banking industry.

I left corporate America as a Telecommunications Manager after 15 years and am lucky to be pursuing my true love as a freelance violinist. I am trying to start teaching beginners, as well as playing in a number of symphony orchestras in the area. I also play in quartets for weddings and such. Great fun!

DH is still in corporate America and loves it. He is a Director of IT.

We don't have any children...we're getting a little 'advanced' in our age, but we aren't ruling it out just yet....

Wow, bobbiwoz and I are leading mirror lives! I'm also a math teacher (not a college instructor yet, but just interviewed for such a job yesterday-got my fingers crossed!). DH is an engineer who travels ALOT, and our next flight to WDW is "funded" by frequent-flier miles, as many are. Thanks to all the flights he takes, DS and I will fly to WDW first class in January. DH and I are also empty-nesters (just bought a smaller house), and since DS no longer lives at home, next January's trip is that much more special to me.

My wife is a fulltime college student and fulltime mom. She graduates in six-months (which means a job, steady income and MORE POINTS!!!!!!!!!!!).

I am a Project Manager in banking software. In fact, I worked on a project with a very large Orlando company (that you may have heard of) installing a major overhaul to their Credit Card system years ago. Got to stay at about every resort free over a 1 year period. Certainly was a wonderful experience.

All my work is international. In fact, I have traveled to every country that is represented in Epcot (and 30 some others). In the end I give up my air miles to relatives (last thing I want to do is get on another plane). Me and the family would rather head to WDW then any where else in the world.

But, if I had to pick another place to go I would love to go back to:

Prague (with a side trip to Vienna and Budapest).
Hong Kong
New Zealand

I have been a stock broker for the past 10 years. Before that I worked as a television reporter.

My wife used to be a television news anchor. As you might guess we had an office romance.:love2:

For the past 7 years she has been President of the Chamber of Commerce in Decatur, Illinois. In two weeks, she goes to work for the Governor of Illinois running an economic development program in 12-counties called Opportunity Returns.

Our Home Resort is Beach Club Villas.:wave2:
