Dream Concierge

What side of the ship can you seethe fireworks from the room?

You can only see a very limited view of the fireworks yes some go off starboard most go over the ship from the aft and sometimes forward and slightly starboard. DCL often puts note up in the rooms closest to the fireworks with verandahs to say not to be on them for health and safety.

The view is very poor, the bump on starboard on 12512 might get a reasonable view as it faces aft.

Everyone is so helpful Thank you

Another question (I sure you'll be seeing lots of me since this is our first cruise ever and our daughter dirt Cruise too). Are the verandas on the cat T big enough for a wheelchair or should I try for the bump out? We don't need a full handicapped room since we need a tub and I don't want to take it from someone who needs it

Try for a bump out or a room for cruisers with disabilities.

What rooms have the pop out decks? Any pics of them
We had 12506 (cat T) / 12508 (cat V) / 12510 (cat V) / 12512 (cat T)
which are the only 4 bump-out verandahs on Deck 12 starboard - shown here above the rainforest spa hottub area on Deck 11.
(there are 8 more concierge staterooms with the larger verandahs on the port side - 4 on Deck 12 and 4 on Deck 11)

Starting from left to right:

12512
You can really see the difference in depth to our next door neighbor cat T stateroom 12514. (on the left in this photo.)

If you look again at the above photo, you'll notice we opened up the partitions between the 4 balconies. You can see how narrow the spacing is.

You can also get an idea of how long the balcony of the adjoining Cat V stateroom 12510 is.

12510 and 12508

unfortunately, I seem to only have the one photo here, but the balconies are identical for these 2 cabins. These sit as side by side cat V's. (non-adjoining) I seem to recall there are much better pictures of their balconies already linked or posted previously in this thread.

12506 (our stateroom)
here you can see cabin 12504's balcony size next door and beyond their partition is the beginning of the Roy Disney Suite's balcony which has the full clear plexiglass shield with no visible ralings.

again, you can see the length of the balcony for the adjoining Cat V - 12508 here.

12512 yields the best vantage point for fireworks IMO - but they do give a note stating not to watch from your verandah.

I had that room booked for May and searched high and low for pics and could never find any. I changed to 12000 last week. It is directly across from the lounge and that's why I booked it. It doesn't get bad reviews. Should be a great room!

I believe 12000 sits between the two Cat R's at the front of the ship. 12512 and 12012 are the cabins directly across from the entrance doors to the lounge.

this photo is the full length of the hallway for concierge staterooms on deck 12 starboard.
The Cat R's and stateroom 12000 are located all the way down at the far end of the hall.
The concierge lounge door is only halfway down the hall on the left. (where there's a break in the railing)

Yeah I meant that I booked 12514 originally because it was across from the lounge. I grabbed 12000 for the deck and sacrificing the walk lol.

But thank you for the photo!!! I was trying to get an idea of the length from 12000 to concierge as I have mobility issues due to bad ankles from a broken leg last year.

Poison ivy and I had 12000 booked for my brother and family on the Member Cruise 2013, but switched over to the 4 bump outs on starboard. Your cabin is very nice...I think it's larger than the other 1-br cabins and the verandah is huge. The entrance is unique... You will have to go through a hallway door first to get to your cabin door.

12000 isn't technically "directly across from the Lounge" but it's in between the two monster Disney suites so it's a Holy Grail for a lot of people. It's a really, really nice suite. It's basically at the end of the hallway, more "behind" the Lounge" than anything else. I want to stay there just because of the forward view and what appears to be real teak decks (the Disney suites both have real teak decks outside). I'm super jealous of you.

Anything on deck 12 is not far from the lounge at all, even with mobility issues. I don't know exact distances (I don't bring a measuring tape with me on cruises.) but it never felt far to me from 12004 even when I was, um, a little self-medicated. There are side doors on both sides which bring the Lounge even closer. I would be more concerned with deck 11 than 12, just by nature of having to go upstairs.

Here's a cute video of the HA Cat T on the Fantasy - stateroom 11006.
(which I assume is very similar to the Disney Dream as well)

It shows several things:
the bump-out verandah for the Deck 11 concierge staterooms
both the Murphy bed and Sleeper Sofa opened up for the evening
the HA bathroom; master closet and overall room layout.

enjoy

Lol. Thank you. I watched the site like a hawk for that room. I had read on here that they hold it till the royals book and 3 days after those were booked it showed up and I quickly called my TA and had it switched. Persistence paid off! I scoured the internet for reviews, photos and videos of the room and still didn't find certain aspects that I was looking for such as the "walk" to concierge, the hallway pic or video, detailed verandah video or pics, etc so I will definitely be returning with detailed pictures and video to help others in the future. Lol. I'll report back in May after our cruise!

we had the same problem when we first booked this suite. Here's my DH's post trying to get some answers with no luck.
http://www.disboards.com/threads/dream-12000.2898246/

But if you pm Krisannb from this thread, I know she took pics of the 12000 entryway and the 1 bdrm suite including the balcony and shared them here years ago. (2011?)
I think it's important to get a visual on that entryway where you have to deal with two sets of doors to enter the suite.
Hope this helps.

Enjoying this thread! We're booked Concierge (Cat V), 11004 (with bump out) for our 1st DCL cruise in April. SO excited! (Our kids still know nothing about this cruise...and it's getting harder each day to keep the "secret" from them!) :rolleyes1

From previous posts, it seems that not everyone sees value in sailing Concierge...and that's fine. For our 1st family cruise, DH & I want every, single perk we can get: :-) The Concierge lounge & sun deck, pre-dinner cocktails, Shoreside & Onboard Concierge staff, easy embark/ disembark, 125 day booking window
(we snagged Cabana #9 :yay:), etc. All of this gives us a little taste of the "luxury" that we've enjoyed on past luxury cruises. If our pre-cruise experience with DCL is an indication of what we can expect on board, I have a feeling that we'll be among those that, having sailed Concierge, will ALWAYS sail Concierge.

Hi. Enjoy!

How did you know you wanted cabana no. 9? Didnyou have a map and choose it? From looking at the pictures from Serenity Bay and what I saw on New Years Day on CC, Im wondering if Pelican Bay cabanas may be a better choice but would like one furtherst from the rope off.

Thank you.

we've had 2 cabanas and ironically our first one was #9 and our second was #4. personally between the two we preferred the lower number because it was a closer walk to the facilities and cookies 2 bbq and was right in the middle of the section of the private beach which is set up with a good amount of umbrellas and loungers. (after cabana #10 they seem to end and not be set up)

The family beach was a good distance. Having a view of the ship is what we love the most about the family beach cabanas - to float in the water or relax on deck while enjoying the backdrop of a Disney cruise liner.

I have photos of both if that helps.

I chose #17 (or highest # possible on family beach) because we don't do crowds well lol. You can call for your cabana host and they will come get you in a golf cart and take you to restrooms or cookies to get food and they will bring you back so you may eat in the cabana. The only thing I'm worried about is low tide, as I've seen some pics and videos of how much water the higher cabanas lose in front of their cabanas when it goes out. Can anyone elaborate on that?

Yes I have seen it at low tide it does go out a bit but it's a trade more privacy but a bit of a walk if the tide is out. Anyway part of the day the tide will be in. So you will get it both ways. I had 4 and 5 closer to the water less hot sand to burn your feet.
