We stayed at DL Hotel this past weekend, concierge, Sierra Building.
I can sum it up in three little words: save your money.
Yes, it was nice being able to breeze through check in relatively quickly.
Yes, it was nice being able to raid the fridge in the concierge lounge, grabbing bottles of water now and then, nibbling on crackers and cheese before dinner, and loading up on muffins and cereal for breakfast.
Yes, it was nice having someone there to answer questions, make reservations, or find directions.
But was it worth it? No.
The room was smaller than our regular room last year (though the view was pleasant -- the pool) and the furniture was, I think, newer, with big high beds and pretty blonde wood that had a French country/provincial look to it. (The cabinet containing the TV and fridge had painted on it the artist's conception of
Disneyland from the 1950s...neat!) And we enjoyed having the "Tinkerbell" pixie dust wallpaper, too.
But none of that added up to all the extra money we spent; our 3-day package, for two nights plus two unlimited parkhoppers came to just over $1,000. We certainly didn't eat enough to make up the difference. I'm glad we did it, just for trying it out, but at Disneyland, I wouldn't do it again.
WDW, I think, has more perks and more fun food (from what I've heard -- I haven't tried it yet...
