Disney's PORT ORLEANS RIVERSIDE RESORT Information & Questions

Can we get the cab from the Yacht Club, or do we need to walk over to the Beach Club?

Sorry, typo, meant to write Yacht Club. Taxis are available outside all Disney resorts anyway, usually you'll just find one waiting but otherwise the CMs at the door can call one for you very quickly.

I would much rather have a river view but not be in the mansions. Is this possible? Or would you suggest sending in a request and keep my fingers crossed?

Sure, as long as you've got a River View room booked you can request Alligator Bayou too if you want (buildings 14, 27 and 38 would be your possibilities). It's not guaranteed of course, but no harm in asking.

And around this time tomorrow (Tuesday) any posts I make will be coming direct from an Alligator Bayou room overlooking the Sassagoula River... :yay:

I'll be posting live updates via Instagram (http://instagram.com/portorleans_org), Twitter (http://www.twitter.com/PortOrleansOrg), Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/portorleans.org), etc. - and even here too when I get a chance. :)

Now, to see if I can get some sleep...

Have a safe trip. Maybe we'll see you around the resort!

Safe travels! We're in Florida now, Beach vacay pre wdw. Driving up on Saturday (Poly).

I made my reservations for Nov-Dec 2016 last night! Lyle was a very helpful CM. This will be the first trip when I fax in a room request. I had it noted on my reservation and will call and confirm that it ended up there correctly in a few months. Much has changed about WDW but I hope my Disney home is as magical as on all my other visits.

It has been more than a decade since we ate at Boatwrights. May give it another try.

We will be arriving on 8/13, and are booked in a king bed room. I wanted a preferred room, but since you can't pick both we chose king bed. My question is what should I request when I fax my requests in to get us close to the main area as I will be 28 week pregnant at the time? we will also be there for our 1st anniversary, and are making it a BabyMoon trip for my husband and I.
Second question; Does POR offer fans delivered to your room if requested?

Congrats on both! Hope your stay is going well.

We're staying at Riverside for the first time next month. We have a preferred room. Is there anything we should request?

Question! If we get food at the Riverside Mill, do we have to eat it in the food court or can we take it out to the pool or our rooms?

We are staying at POR and have reservations at HDDR on Sep 11 at 615. We will have a car. Would it be easier to drive to Ft. Wilderness then hop in the internal bus to Pioneer Hall? Or take a bus to MK, then boat over to Ft. Wilderness as I hear the boat drops off right by Pioneer Hall. Thoughts?

I would not take the boat from MK to FW - it is crowded and sometimes you have to wait for a second boat. And you would have to park at the TTC and take the monorail or boat to MK. Then, after HDDR is over, there is a really long line to get the boat back to MK. I would probably drive to FW and take the internal bus. There are three of them and they all take you to Pioneer Hall.

Off POR topic, but...When we went to BOG a few years ago, I remember that we requested to sit in the West Wing, but I forget how I made that request. Does anyone know? (I don't want the loud, cafeteria sounds that the bigger rooms have. If I remember correctly the West Wing is the darker, quieter room with the rose.) Thanks!
