cassie58 - We were in 5256 last week! We loved the view of the giraffes and zebras (and many other animals). We were really happy with that room as well - (close to the elevator too!) It wasn't exactly where I thought we had requested - but I would definitely request it next time. I know some of the animals didn't come right below the window - but it seemed like you had a more open view of the savannah. A group of trees seemed to break the view across - but I still think it was a great room.

Yippee! Just rented from a DVC owner for the week of March 26 - April 2 in a one bedroom villa at Kidani! Never stayed in the villas there, but it looks very nice! My DD likes having some space and her own bathroom will be so nice too (not that she's fussy, just likes some privacy)!

It will be Jambo.
Jambo is where all regular room reservations are located. You will be on Zebra or Giraffe trail with a pool view, very convenient for access to Mara, the quick service restaurant and the pool.
Kidani is DVC villas only and there are no villas which have bunk beds.

Thanks for the report! Glad you enjoyed it - we felt we saw a lot of animals come, day and night, probably because of the watering hole as well. We were just amazed, and didn't want to leave the room so we wouldn't miss anything! Luckily it was at the end of our week, and we had time to stay at the resort for a day. We did like the closeness to the elevator as well. Can't wait to be there again in a few weeks!

Just received word from Disney that the Uzima pool and area is closed during part of our stay - 12/14/2015- 12/16/2015. They offered to change our resort, but I'm not sure I would use the pool in December anyways.

We got $50 off a night at WL last year when this happened. It is worth a shot to ask. Kidani is not that far of a walk if you need a pool

For a great view in a standard room, we had 2544 and 2546 last week. The touring plans room picture is not right. We say giraffes every day around 4/5pm and lots of the antelope. It also was not a bad walk to the Mara.

The savannah view rooms just weren't working for us, and I want to make sure that I have good shots at the animals. Thanks much!

Hi All- We just decided this morning on a whim to book AKL Feb 1-5th to celebrate our son's 4th b-day. He loves AK park and so we thought this would be a real treat! I booked a standard room because to be honest, we are already pushing the budget here lol.
I know next to nothing about this resort. I never dreamed our little ol' family would be staying in a deluxe resort so I never bothered to look into it much. I guess I have a lot to catch up on, our online check in is in 2 days!!!

If you get what you booked - pool view, then your room won't have a savanna view. It's always possible to be upgraded a view category.
The online choices are so generic that some don't apply to what you booked. In my case 2 choices were upper and lower floors - yet I know I'll be on the 5th floor as that's where all the villas are, for example.
