The Disney Wall Art Swap will have sign-ups open on Monday Aug. 6, at 10:00 am EST. As the swap fills, new groups will not be made available due to the nature of the swap. For this swap we will be making all of the embellishments for (5) 12 x 12 canvas boards. Each board will have a theme and a color scheme. The 5 themes we are making are: MK, AK, DHS, Epcot, and characters. Each board will have 18 Mickey Heads and 1 word. The words are: Four, Parks, One, World, Disney. I will make the words so that they are all the same font, welded letters, same black sparkly paper etc. for a cohesive look.
Newbies are not able to join this swap because of the massive amount of work for an angel if the obligation signed up for is not fulfilled.
Check-ins
Confirm your groups and send me your contact info by August 12
Check in #1 by Mon. Sept. 10
Check in #2 by - Mon. Oct. 1
Check in #3 by Mon. Oct. 22 ** Last Call for Angels**
Mail by Thursday Nov. 15
Due by Mon. November 19 (so I can sort over Thanksgiving break)
After sign-ups, please pm me your name, DIS name, mailing address, email address and phone number. (I will only use these in an emergency or if you don't check in).
I will pm you with a reminder if you forget to check in. After 48 hours with no response I will pm you or email you. If you are going on vacation or will be out of town, please check in early. If you need an angel, please ask for one as soon as possible.
If you finish early, feel free to mail to me as soon as you are done. I have room to store the boxes.
SWAP REQUIREMENTS:
2 Mickey Heads cut using Cricut Cartridge Mickey and Friends pg. 78 in booklet (yellow icon) NO SHADOW
* Make your shapes 2 inches, NO SHADOW, and embellished at least TWICE. You may use patterned and solid colored cardstock paper. Please be creative and use the colors that you signed for and embellish in a way that represents the word. The color you signed up for should be a main portion of your design. You can use others colors to embellish and go with it though.
Suggestions for embellishments include:
Paper piecing, stickers, stickles/glitter, flock, ink, chalk, brads, charms, flowers, eyelets, ribbon/fiber, sewing, tearing, embossing, stamping, clipart, etc. Because these are not being used in a scrapbook feel free to use non-traditional scrapbook items such as fabric, cork, wood, metal, or chunky items like buttons.
Packaging Instructions
PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ THIS THROUGH CAREFULLY. If you are unable to package and label as follows, I respectfully ask that you do not sign up for this swap. Items that are not packaged and labeled properly are an added burden to the hostess; it really slows down the sorting process and increases the chances of you not getting back the pieces you are entitled to.
Everyone needs to lay out 15 bags (quart size will probably be large enough). Label these 15 bags like this:
mycutiepatooties
Traci XXXX
Bag #1-15 (just number your bags)
Write what you made on a note (or print it out) and stick it inside each bag. For example:
AK: green--Tree of Life
MK: gray--castle
DHS: blue--Fantasmic and so on...
Inside your bags put 1 complete set of everything you made. So if you have Tree of Life Mickey heads...and you made 15...now put one into every bag. So at the end there will be only 15 bags total with 1 of each thing you made inside along with a note telling what you made so everyone will quickly know what board each item goes to. Then mail to me.
I'll get them and set up 15 boxes, one for everybody. Then you will each get 1 bag from everybody dropped into your box. So you'll have all 95--a complete set.
Thank you for taking the time to make sure your pieces meet these requirements.
Mailing Instructions
* You may send to me by any method you choose unless you are mailing after November 15th. Then, you must mail Priority with Delivery Confirmation. I recommend Delivery Confirmation for all packages, even before the November 15th date, but it is not required until November 15th.
* I will send back to you using flat rate boxes/envelopes. Please include enough postage in your package for return shipping. Here are the current rates: Envelope-$5.15, Small Box-$5.35. If you want your items shipped to you with DC, please include another $.75, and a filled out slip. I will not mail the items back with delivery confirmation unless you include the $.75.
* And I am not responsible to for postal errors. To minimize on postal errors, please include a return address label -- either a USPS priority mail label that you have addressed, or the little ones you would put on envelope.
* Do not include clik-it/ship-it postage. I will not be able to use it since it is only good on the day it was printed, and from the location it was printed.
I hope to have lots of fun with this swap and I know the finished product will be outstanding!!! Please ask if you have any questions. Color ideas that are park/character specific are listed below in the spreadsheet.
Enjoy!

You can search for ideas for your colors by park and character. You are not limited to these ideas if you have something else you want to do. Just no repeats please.
We have 15 who indicated they want to join in. Please check my math, but I think we're good.
Assuming all 15 do sign up...5 boards x 19 pieces per board is 95 total pieces.
We'd need 10 people to make 6 different designs. Gives us 60 pieces.
We'd need 5 people to volunteer to make 7 designs. Gives us 35 pieces.
60 + 35 = 95
Everyone will make 15 mass produced copies of each mickey head they designed. So I'll have a grand total of 1,425 mickey heads to sort and mail back. 1,425 total divided by the 15 swappers gives each person 95 to complete their boards at home.
Completed Photos of The 5 Boards Made In this Swap: I just laid these out on the boards so nothing is glued down nice and straight. I wanted you to have a photo to refer to when putting your boards together at home.
