DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

In that case I think we should set up a beer fund for Norm as he is traveling with his beloved in-laws. Just send your donations to me and I will be sure to get them to Norm!
Sure you will… though it is a great idea, Norm is gonna need all the drinks / help he can get
I was going to post this on the Prayer Request list but it is appropriate for all Dads. As an elder to most of you, I get to give you youngsters some advise so sit down and look at me when I am talking to you! I turned 50 last November and as a result qualified for a colonoscopy through our insurance. Nothing says Happy Birthday like getting a tube...oh never mind. I went in today and they found a large mass. I'm now on the list for the next available surgery to get it removed and will get pathology results in 7-10 days. Despite Murphy living with us, at least wasn't having problems at that end and no family history that would have made me concerned so you never know. Yes, the preparation is miserable. It took me 6 hours to get through 3 liters of the solution and it was a miserable 6 hours. Nonetheless, it was good I had it done. Now I wait, but if it is an option for you don't wait. I hate to think what may have happened if I had waited until problems develop. As it is I don't know what the end result may be. Sermon over, back to the random stream of thought.
Prayers and pixie dust for you

.......and I see what you did there too. Let's send the money or booze donations directly to me.

I see What you did as well.:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Not sure I'm all that comfortable with you guys seeing what I'm doing. :scared:

There will be extra prayers and thoughts for you, this news bothers me for obvious reason.

I'm due I believe later this year for the next one, between Mom being Celiac, my sister having the double whammy of Crohns and Colitis, and Dad's own issues I'm already on a regular cycle.

Not to make light of it on the other hand, here is something that might make you smile since you've been through it.

Sorry to hear. Hoping for the best for you.

Why don't we drag this Murphy fool out into some back alley and let him know what we think of him?

Shawn, I'm sorry you have to deal with that, but glad that they caught it now. Prayers that everything will go smoothly and you'll be fully healthy again soon.

First off, may the pathology be benign and may the upcoming remedies not cause additional problems.
Prayers sir. many, many of them.

Now then...
I understand what he's on about and also recommend that you young'ens consider having this done as well. I'm scheduled for one of these "lovely" reamings myself in a couple of weeks. miserable does not begin to describe the ordeal but this is the particular malady that took my mother (who I've now officially out lived, and I'm not happy about that fact in any way shape or form). Myself I'm also concerned about the potential prognoses but based on blood work and pre-tests neither my regular Doc or the specialist believe I need to be worried just yet. doesn't mean I'm not though.

All y'all need to consider this if it's possible, and start in your mid 40's.
Believe me, I watched that damn disease with the assistance of and a cadre of specialists torture my mom to death (and no, that's neither too strong a word or to hash a sentiment).

Top O the Morning Dads! Way too much customer drama effecting the day job and now family drama over DD's bf and his impending deployment. Pray for my patience in dealing with this mess this weekend. Now, PBDW (prayers, dacon & dole whips) for everyone and all the best for the kids activities this weekend.

Prayers and best wishes being sent! I am not at the point where they recommend it to be done, but when I get to age 50, it will be done as requested.

My uncle passed away not too long ago as some may remember. It was due to liver failure, but the cause and inability to treat the liver was due to prostate cancer found after symptoms and results review after his colonoscopy. He had not gone to the doctor for years and didn't take it seriously until he started to feel not himself. I'm not trying to scare you or anyone else, just helping make the case that prevention or early detection is key if issues do arise.

Again, best of luck on the diagnosis and prayers that it is not anything more than a mass.

May your day be filled with niceties and friendly customers buying lots of beer!

Good News/Bad News. Negotiations complete with a large customer, orders placed and shipped today. We are now 7 months into the fiscal year and are slightly above break even based on 12 month projections. :cool1::cool1::cool1: Bad news is that I am not able to get the financial work done I needed to by quitting time so it looks like a late night tonight and working Super Bowl Sunday morning to catch up:headache::mad::mad: Also no way to leave earlier and se DS hoop game today.:sad1:

We have 3 weekend games on the slate, one with DD tomorrow against the only team to blemish our perfect record this season. Two with my 7th graders. After a tough loss last weekend, I feel bad for the teams coming into our home gym. The girls are a little ticked and are planning some domination.:thumbsup2

Have a great weekend all. Will not have any more time this afternoon to post.

No games for us this weekend, cancelled because of a potential storm. Good luck with your games.

I hope everything works out. I always take notice of things like this as I too turned 50 this year. My doctor sent me for some blood work in the fall and apparently nothing was amiss but I always wonder if tests like this should be done as well.

In Disneyland now. So much is down for refurbishment, the park doesn't feel the same. No castle, railroad, Matterhorn, the list goes on. I knew it before we came, but didn't realize what a difference it would make.

No castle? Dang, sorry to hear. A lot was down when we were there, but at least the castle and railroad were still operating. Have fun with what is still up and running!

Pretty accurate. Definitely one of the best rivalries in basketball in the 80's - 90's. Damn shame it is a joke now compared to those standards. I'm ready to see the Indiana schools step up and take consistent control of the Big Ten like they did in those days. But under the current leadership at both schools, I won't hold my breath.

I think the fact that we're seeing more consistently better teams come out of ND and Butler the past 6 years or so is saying a lot about the state of the game at IU and Purdue.

But I guess there's one thing that almost all IU and Purdue fans can agree on. If our team ain't playing in March, Go Bulldogs. :rotfl2::lmao:
