I've used many products ranging from really inexpensive to embarrassingly pricey ($48 for 1.7 oz of a curl cream -- worthless! And bad for the budget.) and I've found that Pantene Hydrating Curls line works the best!
I get the best results from using the line together (shampoo, conditioner, serum, mousse, and spray gel) but the mousse is my daily standby! It really holds without being "crunchy."
I've found the key to keeping my curls frizz free is to keep my hair well conditioned. I use the Pantene Curls conditioner and deep condition about once a week. Pantene Restoratives makes a good deep conditioning mask.
I also blow dry my hair with a diffuser. That cuts down on frizz and helps define the curl. I got my diffuser at wal-mart for less than $5 and I've had it for about 8 years.
Pantene is the most budget-friendly product line that works for me. And it works the best, even compared to more expensive stuff I've tried.
Good luck!
