Cafe Rix was awesome. Small and with a limited selection but more than adequate for my family - a few hot sandwiches, a good grab-and-go selection in the coolers, and yummy treats at the bakery and gelato counter. It was never overly crowded when we were in there and the service was great. Siestas (at the pool) was fine too; the nachos were just okay but the rest of the menu is solid "pool bar" type foods served hot and fresh, and there was never much of a line.

Pepper Market we didn't care for at all. Between selecting our food from the various stations, a server who was extremely slow with drinks and absent when we were looking for refills, and an apparently on-demand policy regarding having someone at the registers that left us and another family twiddling our thumbs waiting to pay, it took every bit as long as a table service meal would despite retaining a "food court" level of experience. And what's worse, the chips they use for their nachos stink - they're thick and heavy like cheap bagged tortilla chips, not restaurant-style like I'd expected from a Mexican venue (same are used at Siestas, but I'd hoped for better from PM). No big deal, we just stuck to Cafe Rix and Siestas rather than returning to Pepper Market. I thought it was nice having so many choices; at most resorts, if you don't care for the food court you don't have other quick service options.

Good to know! I'm trying to decide on the best moderate for our August trip...POFQ, POR, or CSR.

we will be there June 8th.
I'm not picky about building but I do need to be near a bus stop. knee issues that are pretty bad in the morning. better as i use my legs more so by end of the day it feels fine. but getting started first thing is a pain and would be nice not to have to walk far to bus. can I ask for that as a request when i do online check in?

I looked online on Allears for Cafe Rix menu for breakfast. I know this is the grab and go place... but Allears doesnt list bagels or toast or english muffins.... are those available?? If so... do you know how much? I see egg and cheese breakfast sandwiches.... but what about muffins and croissants and fresh breads to toast in a toaster? Will these be available here??

Also... is the coffee and mug refill stations in Cafe Rix??

I would love to run in and out....

This will be me next month! :goodvibes

I did a little research and on Buzz's site, the pastries are only available at PM. I think you would tell the CM host that you are getting something to go, and head to the pastry station. Prices range from .99 cents for toast, $1.99 for bagel, $2.99 Muffin/Croissant, $3.99 for Specialty Pastry.

The refill station for the refillable mugs is in Rix (and also at the pool bar if it is open).

Hi everyone. My DH and I will be at CSR on May 31 for our vacation.:cool1: Can someone tell me if its possible to buy a half gallon of milk in the gift shop or Cafe Rix? We are flying in and my DH drinks protein shakes with milk as an extra protein supplement because of his bariatric surgery.

That's me too! I am good with just a bagel, croissant, or muffin and something to drink for my breakfast.

You would think they would sell those in Rix next to the hot breakfast sandwiches. :confused3

So if Im understanding you correctly... I will have to go to Pepper Market for bagels and toast and get them To- Go... and not at grab and go Cafe Rix... and then go to Cafe Rix to fill up mugs with Coffee and drinks? Seems silly... but I guess it will have to do . Is Pepper Market and Cafe Rix next door to each other?

Having stayed at all but POFQ (but visited when at POR, used the pool and the food court), I'd recommend CSR business class or POFQ, followed by anywhere else at CSR or POR preferred. CBR is the only one I absolutely wouldn't stay at again - the resort is just too big, and even if you book a preferred room to ensure convenience to the main pool and food court you're still in a resort with 7 internal bus stops, which makes all the rides feel so much longer than they should be.

I thought there were some pastries available at Rix. I know there were Krispy Kremes, and I'm pretty sure they had croissants and danishes and such in that same area (bakery counter). Not sure about bagels or bread because I think the toaster is in Pepper Market, but I'm about 95% sure there were some pastries available at Cafe Rix.

ETA: Pic 3 of Cafe Rix on Buzz's site shows what I'm remembering being in the bakery case, though later in the day the offerings aren't so plentiful.

Yes, I can confirm that I saw danishes, donuts, croissants and muffins at Cafe Rix last month. They also had banana bread.

PR-DISNEY: Yes, you can buy a half-gallon of milk at Panchito's gift shop.

There are a few other breakfast items available at Panchito's, like Entenmenn's donuts and such that you could keep in your room.

Panchito's, Cafe Rix and Pepper Market are all located in El Centro, the main building where you check in. They are all along the same hallway and close to each other.

Thanks clairandtheboys. you didn't happen to notice if they had skim milk did you? I thought I saw a picture of three types of maybe milk containers but the picture from the boards was very small.

So when you eat at PM do you have to pay extra for your drink even if you bought a a refillable mug? or are your drinks just included?
