Cape May Cafe?

Thank you so much for all your replies...We were able to get a reservation and now I am very excited to go. Looking forward to trying all the seafood:cool1::cool1::cool1:

We love Cape May! It's a must-do restaurant for us, and we eat there at least once during each trip. I wasn't thrilled with it at first, because I don't like steamers and mussels, but they really have something for everyone. Now, they have added crab legs, so it's not just my DH's favorite restaurant anymore. It's mine, too! :thumbsup2

We have clients who MUST have Cape May dinner ADR's every time and we've been for breakfast so we figured it was time to go ourselves. DH doesn't do seafood and he was so-so on the land portion of the buffet, DD wasn't really hungry, and I am not a steamer fan but the crab legs were good and I liked the rest of the seafood options, especially the cold salads.

DD and I were enthralled by a couple sitting behind us and how they attacked the seafood - steamers, crab legs, etc. It was like a military mission with the shells perfectly arranged on the plates, CRACK, suck, slap, dip. Amazing. I stopped by their table on my way to the buffet and chatted for a few minutes and they gave me tips on getting even more meat out of my crab legs. I love Disney!

We ate there two weeks ago, and it was great! A standout memory from our trip all the food was good but DH loved the crab legs! The lava cakes were also great we have eaten a lot of the Disney buffets and this is at the top for us.

Oh, I am soooo happy I listened to the reviews! I booked out first dinner there for our arrival on June 26. We love seafood and it seems like this place won't disappoint. What are Oreo Bon Bons?

I have an related question regarding the Cape May Cafe Clam Bake...

Given the terrible oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, what are everyone's thoughts on what might happen to the clam bake? Do you think it would be significantly impacted since there is a major effect on the Gulf's fishing?

I was wondering that too. It makes me literally sick to my stomach thinking about all those affected by this now (and in the future!) I don't believe (as far as CMC is concerned) that they would increase the prices significantly, but this affects the seafood industry quite alot, and the sad thing is, the little guy, the fisherman who DEPEND on the sea are going to be hurt the most. And to think about the ecosystem of that area...it makes me want to cry!

LOVE LOVE LOVE Cape May!!! We stay at Beach Club and all last year we kept cancelling other ADR's and going there!! Great atmosphere and fantastic food!!

We just ate dinner here for the first time a couple of weeks ago. We thought it was pretty darn good! We have had breakfast there in the past and enjoyed that as well. We will be going back for sure on out next trip! The ribs were good, the potato salad was yummy as well.

We love eating here. We all have a favorite seafood, I love the clams and crab legs, DH loves all the seafood, including fish, both DDs love the shrimp and crablegs. Its the first restaurant on the list when making ADRs for every trip.

We are taking a family trip in Nov., as we are doing the QSDP we have decided to only do one TS and everyone agreed that of all the wonderful Disney restaurant they wanted Cape May. I think that speaks volumes. (love the oreo bon bons)

We love, love, love the breakfast but will not be going back to the clambake any time soon. We (along with most of the lobby of the BC) waited an hour past our ADR time because they were "in the middle of a turn over", the service was inattentive because the entire restaurant was seated all at once and they all seemed overwhelmed and the buffet was lacking at best. We saw no beef or ribs, the sides were constantly needing replenished, the cold salad items were more of a luke warm temp and the crab legs were stuck to the shells all night to the point that we had to scrap them out to eat them. But the dessert was great!

I think it was just an off night for them when we were there but it was the last dinner of our trip and it still really sticks out in our minds as not good.

I just booked the Cape May Cafe for our upcoming August disney trip! It sounds delicious! One question though....We'll be staying at CBR. What is the easiest way to get there via Disney transportation? I'm assuming maybe I just need to hop on the bus that is headed to the Beach Club Resort right? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

We were coming from pop which is near CBR. We took the resort bus to DHS which took about 5 minutes then took the boat to beach club that is located next to dhs on the right hand side this took about 15 minutes for the next boat to come and had one stop before that at the swan. So in total we had planned on an hour, but it only took under 30 minutes. On the way home we took a cab from the Boardwalk to Pop and it only cost $8 plus tip.

heres some pics from 2 weeks ago. Didn't get any of the buffet but someone posted some yesterday on the food porn thread that are great (disney food pictures under restaurants)
