Calling all Chicago DISers #3

For those of you that I am not friends with on FB

I don't recognize most people on FB since I always referred to everyone by their screen names. Figured if they wanted their real names on the boards, they would have used it as their screen name. ;). But I'm easy to find on FB since you all know my real name. Plus, I'm friends with Bunchie, so I should float to the top of your search. ;)

i remember Bunchie !

it's a rare day that i go on FB.

i only hit it for info on hhn.

i keep forgetting my pw for my fb account.
would you believe i have changed my pw 23 times in the past 10 months.

Sounds like you need a password vault. There are a number of free ones out there that can store your passwords in a secure, encrypted container for you. The downfall of passwords is that people create easy passwords so they can remember them, and then reuse that same password across multiple sites. A password vault will keep a separate entry for each site, allow you to randomly generate a secure password and then even log you into that site at the touch of a button.

i remember Bunchie !

I remember her too!

I was scanning through my Instagram and a pic from the DIS was there. And I thought, "Now there is a web site I haven't been on in forever."
I cannot believe this thread is alive. It doesn't die! :badpc:

The abridged version of what's been going on with us....
Some of you may remember we moved to care for my husband's parents. My mother in-law passed away from cancer shorty after we moved. My father in-law passed away in December 2012 while he was staying with family in the Chicago area. He took a horrible fall down the stairs at his oldest daughter's home, and never recovered.
DD is 17 yrs old and a junior in high school. We're in the process of choosing a college. College tours is our life. LOL She's keeps herself rather busy with academics (AP classes) along with NHS, art club and volunteering twice a week at an elementary school helping out her brother's former 2nd grade teacher.
DS is almost 13 yrs old and in 7th grade. He just recently joined a Boy Scouts troop that his friend is a part of, and had his first camp out this past weekend. He loved it! The kid is turning into a giant! He's taller than his older sister now, and will easily be over 6ft. when he finally stops growing. And since his voice just keeps getting deeper, he just got moved to a bass in choir.

It's nice to read updates from those of you I haven't heard from in a while.

Bunchie, say it ain't so......!!!!

your littles have been growing up.
two youngsters and one about to venture out in the big world for college.

i blink my eyes and years have passed.

so good to hear from you.
i know you are still a chicagoan at heart.

i didn't know about your inlaws passing.

you were an excellent dil to them.

my parents that i started taking care of 7 years ago passed in 2013 and 2014.
it was their time.

do come back and play here.
we need to get the team back together.

Mac....I remember you stating that you were taking care of your parents. I'm sorry to read of their passing.

thank you bunchie.
it was a lot of work.

i haven't buried them yet but hope to be able to early summer.
(they are in storage at the funeral home)
they were both veterans and i finally decided on Bushnell in florida.

Thank You! :) Honestly, I don't feel sorry for myself. I feel thankful that I lived so long with no major problems. And, I'm thankful that my current problems can be managed with meds. That said, it's been recommended that I go toone of the teaching/research hospitals and consult with one of their MG experts. However, my neurologist is a really sharp guy and has experience with MG. For now, he's providing all the right answers and treatments that correspond with my own MG research, so I'm willing to stick with him for now. However, if it begins to flare up again, then I'll take the next step.

I'll do a bit of research on Dr. Rowin. Where is she located?

I went to see her at Elmhurst hospital, she has an office there too.

Have you got MG?

My office is across the street from McDonalds HQ (McDonalds Dr. dumps into my parking lot), so I'm only a couple miles form Elmhurst Hospital. Plus, I believe Eelmhurst has merged with Edward Hospital, which is where all my doctors and records are.

Wow, a blast from the past for sure. I'm not even sure when I last posted on this thread, but I remember so many of you.

My oldest is completing his junior year of college and is engaged. The middle son is 16, and while he doesn't have his license yet, he is practicing. My daughter is almost 13, and is dealing with severe migraines. (She has missed close to 50 days this school year.) My husband stills works for the same company he has for quite some time.

I'm no longer working outside of the house, but still selling Tastefully Simple. My daughter and I are also Origami Owl designers, and are doing very good with that. I love being able to run a business with my daughter, it is wonderful to see her thrive and come out of her shell.

(It's hard to believe she's the same little girl in my signature. Time goes to fast)
