August 2 2025, DVC member Cruise on the Dream!

MS insurance also covers cash bookings, the key is booking thru MS…at least that is what I’ve been told before.
Thank you for mentioning this. We called DVC plus we called Travelex insurance and yes, even though we paid cash, we can use this insurance if we buy the insurance for our 2025 UY. We have a March UY.

I often ask people here, if they would like to have a breakfast together in the MDR that’s opened for breakfast early on the first morning of the cruise. That way we can put names to the friendly faces we keep seeing.

We usually have 3-10, and it’s worthwhile, I think.
That sounds like a great idea! I will be a solo parent for this trip. So, any adult friends would be awesome!

If we want it to cover pre-existing conditions, we have to buy the insurance within 3 days of paying 2025 Maintenance fees.

First Disney cruise, first member cruise…and first cruise in 29 years by the time we go. Excited!
I wasn’t sure about the insurance myself so booked through MS for my use year when we booked the cruise. it cost $99 for the entire use year. Would love to hear from anyone that has used this insurance for a cruise to see if it’s a good choice or not.

When we talked with Travelex we were happy with the answers we got. I am pretty sure we will be using it for this cruise. Unfortunately, we don’t have a user review for you.

I also looked into this insurance after hearing it mentioned here. It almost seems too good to be true! Better coverage than DCL and much less expensive than third party insurance where they take age into consideration (I will be traveling with my mother). I haven’t purchased it yet, but plan to soon.

I would also be interested in feedback from those who have used it.

We also feel a little bit like “It’s too good to be true.” Yet, the answers we got from Travelex were straightforward. So, we will buy it barring if we hear some bad news from users.
Yes, concerning age, we are seniors!

First member cruise for us! 1️⃣

For 2025 I had actually planned for 2 summer weeks in Southern CA using our Marriott timeshares (Newport Coast Villas) to escape the FL humidity, but now that we got this cruise booked I think we'll stick with it, and do just one week in CA! Being local to FL, and within 2 hours driving distance of both DCL ports, makes it easier - no incremental airfare or hotel.

Well... we got off the 2024 Member Cruise on Saturday and loved it. Especially the musical performances. Now I want more! Any chance there are any staterooms left on this sailing? Going to call MS tomorrow.
They are pretty amazing, aren’t they?! I hope you get on board. :boat:

Alrighty, bit the bullet and booked an Oceanview room. FYI, inside is completely sold out (though DH would be unhappy with inside anyway, he needs the sun coming in to wake up). Only ever done verandah before but wanted to save some money as this sailing is more expensive than I hoped for (almost as much as the 7 night Member Cruise we were just on!).

Excited to get some more member cruise fun!

DCL has changed the DisneyBand+ (aka MagicBand+) ordering timeframe. It used to not open until 45 days out, but now it opens as soon as you book a cruise. Still have (as of today) 413 days left to order. Must be ordered at least 11 days prior to sail date and they are only available to US residents with a US residential mailing address. They can't be mailed to the port.

DisneyBand+ and MagicBand+ are fully interoperable and can be used at DCL, DLR & WDW. Any existing MB+s linked to MDE are automatically linked to DCL.

Hi from California. This cruise will be our 10th or 11th cruise with DCL but our first member cruise. I decided to book it after seeing the member cruise DVC purchase incentives — if I just buy enough points onboard it pays for itself, right? 🤣

Extremely interested in the DVC insurance option— does anybody know if it covers “cancel for work reasons”?

Ha! I was on the recent never l member cruise but didn't bother looking at the incentives onboard. Were they that good?
