I traveled a lot when I was a single mom with a small child, then as he started to get older school would require we slow down. Then I met my honey, who hates to travel. Then we got into scuba diving and we started taking 2 or 3 dive trips a year. Mean while my son grew up, got married, joined the Navy and moved away. Then we got a puppy. Now my son is back home, out of the Navy and divorced and disabled but back in college so trips with him have to work around his school schedule. Scuba diving has been put on the back burner because we have a yorkie who can not be boarded since all the local places don't have facilities for tiny dogs and she is so submissive she can't be put in groups with little dogs. She is never alone since Honey works from home so boarding her somewhere that leaves her alone all day except occasional half hour visits from staff won't work. We would love to have a house sitter but that service is not available in our community. My son could come stay but we live out in the country and he doesn't like to have to drive so far in and out of town and since he's in school and works part time, he wouldn't be home except just to sleep and that wouldn't work. Now my travelling is limited to two trips to WDW every year, usually solo unless my son can get off school and honey agrees to keep his two dogs, and the occasional long weekend trip to the Georgia coast.
