First the actual booking of the cruise. We love the planning, posting, figuring, watching old DVD's and pictures of past cruises. Start saving money. Make the airline reservations. Then you go to the boards and see what's new and what's going on for your time period, You wonder if the actual day will ever arrive. You check the web site every couple of weeks. Then it's a couple of months away and you start to plan a little bit more, maybe Palo, maybe excursions. Watching the old DCL program on the Travel Channel (how many times have we seen that show?!!)Then you start to read the boards daily, figure out what clothes to bring, keep checking for your stateroom number. Then a month before - where's my stateroom, everyone else has theirs, and then that morning you check on the website - yea, stateroom #- You got an upgrade!! Now the planning gets intense, reading everything you can. Now you're waiting for the docs - can't be far away now. You don't think you can stand it, you want to go right now. Uh oh, is that a hurricane forming south of Haiti, now you start watching the weather - Oh great, is my airline going to change my flight? Then when you don't think you can stand it any more you start playing the "next week at this time we'll be boarding the ship" game and it's almost here. Work drags on and the clock goes backwards - and then it's the night before. What we've been planning, hoping, shopping, & saving for - the vacation starts when we are done with work the day before and do the final pack that night. Just like the TV commerial of the little boy - "I'm too excited to sleep"! Then the plane trip, staying the night before at the Hyatt, putting on my Minnie ears, going down to the DCL bus at the airport, heading off to the Port, rounding that corner and seeing it - The Wonder - we're here!!
Anyone else do this - or just me?!!
