Hi all you wonderful DISers! Hope you can join me for the next installment of the LIVE! Adventures in Dining at WDW with Nicki and Todd! This dining review comes with a bit of a twist, we are taking our 2 nieces age 6 and 12.5 so we will have a few more character meals, probably alot of pics of pizza and chicken nuggets too!
For all of you that have read my past dining review welcome back! For those of you that have not let me introduce us!
Nicki - That would be me! Obsessive WDW meal planner and picture taker although DH is really getting into it now too! Love everything about WDW from the parks to the resorts, shopping and dining too! Have trained DH to not touch his food until I tell him the picture came out great
Todd - DH, super sweet and wonderful guys and loves to relax at the end of the day with a good meal. Doesnt get too involved with the meal planning (although I do try to drag him into it ) and has been known on more than one occassion to tell me that he "isnt feeling it" for the next ressie we have just a few hours from when we were supposed to be there! Totally supports my time on the Dis because of all the wonderful things I have found for him to eat!
DNiece1 - The older one, 12.5 going on 30...you know the kind, they are at that in between stage of a kid and a teen...too old for most stuff but not old enough for others! Loves Lilo, TinkerBelle and Pooh. Great kid, super picky eater...super slow eater too. Likes pizza, light on the sauce...chicken nuggets, cinnamon pretzels, pancakes, corn dogs and waffles.
DNiece2 - The little one, just turned 6 years old and is so funny! Loves Aurora, Ariel, Stitch and TinkerBelle. Somewhat picky eater, will not eat sandwiches but will eat all the items separate from the bread, loves pizza, chicken nuggets, pancakes and Apple Jacks.
We have taken the girls before, Oct 06, and was a bit of a nightmare. I think the kids were just overwhelmed with the entire experience.... They were 3 and 10 and it was the first time DH and I had them for longer than a sleepover night. I had food poisoning the first night (thanks Chef Mickeys) and was miserable for about a day and a half so DH had to step up and take care of them..poor guy, he took them to the POR for dinner and the arcade, then POR for breakfast and the arcade some more so the girls really didnt get to see AK or HS, they did spend 1/2 day at MK and Epcot. We only did 2 TS meals and that was CM and the Princess Breakfast on our departure day...that was a huge hit with all of us and the little one still remembers eating breakfast with Ariel.
This past summer we decided to give them a WDW trip for their Xmas gift and my mom pitched in too. We decided on January because DH and I are too busy during Xmas and though January would be slower at the parks. I figure since they are older it may be alot easier and no stroller this time! I have also planned alot more character meals for the kids to enjoy...mostly breakfast.
Originally we were going to stay at the POP but with DH pushing and pushing I finally threw in the towel and booked the Poly instead. He said it would be so much easier for us with the monorail instead of buses all the time and if he needed to go back to the room and make work calls or emails he feels more comfortable leaving us at MK for a bit. Got a great rate for a garden room and requested third floor Samoa overlooking the volcano pool.
