to another KatMark Pre-Trip Report.
If you are a first-timer, ; I am delighted to see you.
For my old friends, back and thanks for being here.
I guess in case I have any first-timer's, I ought to do some introductions.
I am Kathy of the KatMark. I am an Administrative Assistant at a law firm. I am in my 38th year at my job, 37-1/2 of them with the same attorney. In my spare time (which is harder and harder to find now that I work for three attorneys), I like to DIS, spend time with my friends on FB, go shopping with my new daughter-in-law when she is in town and watch NCIS with Mr. Hottie--Mark Harmon. I have a wonderful, husband, Mark and we have two amazing sons, Andy (27) and Mark (25) and a new daughter, Alisha (22).
Mark is the part of KatMark and my wonderful husband for 30 years. Mark is a salesman for close-out merchandise (think Dollar stores). In his spare time, he loves to umpire baseball games (and the source of income for our trips), read and watch Pawn Stars.
Here is a recent picture of the two of us from our youngest son's wedding:
Our kids:
Andy is 27 and a wannabe high school English teacher. He's had no success thus far in finding a job. However, after five years of being an assistant baseball coach at two high schools, Andy was appointed the Head Varsity Baseball Coach at a local high school. They are trying to find him something on campus for the first half of the new school year and the second half he will be an aide to the Special Ed. teacher. An English teaching position may open in the next two years. He also coaches a travel team in the summer and fall and gives private hitting and catching lessons.
This is a picture of him and his girlfriend (and possible future daughter-in-law), Des, who he has been dating for two years (this is from their recent trip to San Francisco):
Mark is 25; he works for a subsidiary of John Deere in Dubuque, Iowa and is an assistant wrestling coach at Loras College. Wrestling has been in his blood since he started wrestling in 4th grade. He loves the sport and also is in charge of the youth wrestling program once the college season is off.
Alisha, our "daughter". Alisha also works for a subsidiary of John Deere in Dubuque and works at a nursing home on weekends when needed. She has quickly become an authority on all things wrestling. She is the girl we never had and we love her dearly.

Mark and me with our boys:
So why am I going back to Disney World when I just got home four weeks ago? Well, that was a girls trip. This is Mark's and my trip. And we can't go in our anniversary month which is May because he is right in the midst of baseball season. So we normally go in September to celebrate our wedding anniversary. This year we are celebrating a big one...our 30th anniversary. Seriously, I have no idea how it is 30 years already. It is hard to believe that we are the parents of two grown men and now a woman and that we have been married 30 years. Like any couple, we've had our ups and downs, but it does not seem like 30 years at all.
In order to get one more use out of our Annual Passes which Andy bought us last September, we pushed up the trip to August.
We will fly out of Chicago on Friday, August 16, on an early morning flight and be at Disney until Friday afternoon, August 23, and then we will drive to Marco Island to be with our best friends, Nicki and Todd for nine days. This is the longest trip we've taken.
Up next, where we are staying and arrival day plans.
