2018 dates for WDW hotels/packages?

Just booked for January 27-February 3, 2018!! Woohoo! The trip is starting to feel "real" now

For my dates (October 17-23), a lot of the standard rooms are already booked? For example, at Contemporary and AKL. Is this a glitch or would they really have sold out thay quickly. Those are the two resorts I was debating between.

Edited to add: No standard rooms available on my dates for Wilderness Lodge either. That can't be right, can it?

Your reservation can be updated to take advantage of any promotions or discounts that come up after you book

I've always had my TA take care of it, but I imagine you would have to call in order to modify an existing reservation with a new discount.

Yes, DVC has to release them.

Yes, you need to call them to take advantage of any discount that becomes available for your dates. Keep an eye on it (look at the dates for when historical discounts came out) and call ASAP once one becomes available. There are only a limited number of discounted rooms available, and if you wait too long (like happened to me once), it is very likely they will no longer have any discounted rooms available.

I'm looking at Sept, maybe early Oct for BWV. Not sure how DVC works but I imagine the owners get a certain window to book before they release it to the public.
Last trip I took was in Sept and booked a villa in April (didn't try any earlier though) so I may just have to wait awhile.

What are the best ways to find the dates of past discounts? I googled some keywords but didn't see anything relevant. Any tips?

Just booked for 3rd week of August 2018 at WL Also took the Regular Dining Plan too! Nice to see it now includes an alcoholic beverage Obviously 427 days out there's nothing set in stone.........but at least we have something on the board.

Member rooms are kept separate, they do not release those unless they are still open 60 days out. There are points that DVC itself owns, they can release rooms for those or when a member trades out, for example a cruise, a room gets moved to cash to pay for it.

I'm not getting any availability for any resorts end of October into November. Family of 5, looking to stay at Yacht Club, but really in no rush. It's so far away, so there's still plenty of time.

...with that said, the kids and I started planning our meals in my Disney notebook/binder. hahaha
