2015 Amazing-can-do-Attitude April WISH challenge! ALL welcome!

Still doing well with tracking. Missed my step goal yesterday but will be sure to make up for it today. I too had 10 answers on the quiz...the first ones were really hard but then I started rolling. Have a great Friday everyone!

Feeling really tired this week. I guess my iron may not be raising up. I'm taking slo fe daily so I should be getting enough. Who knows. Its strange because Sunday night I didn't get but my usually 5-6 hours and Monday night I had 8 but was still tired and napped 2 hours Tuesday afternoon.

I've been meaning to reply to this, I second Pamela's suggestion of checking your vitamin D level :thumbsup2. But I also wanted to share this article, it is my specialist endocrinologist website, http://www.goodhormonehealth.com/IronDeficiencyandFatigue4.pdf And his recommendations on replacement iron. I have found the Feosol carbonyl iron was the only one that actually brought my levels up, and was easy on the GI. It can be hard to find, Amazon has it. Also, make sure you are eating or taking vitamin C when you take your iron, it helps tremendously with absorption

Hey gang! I just want to thank everyone who jumped on the journaling challenge with me because it is definitely helping me a lot! The water retention fluff I had last week is gone, I am now at 72% of my goal for the month!

My vitamin D should be fine. I was prescribed 2000 iui of D3 daily now and I take it on time so it should be fine. I was on D2 15,000 iui weekly but was switched to daily last year.

Those pickles make me want some really really bad every time I scroll through. lol

I did a lot of housework this morning since I finally had an ounce of energy. I'm sure my walk yesterday helped with that.

happy Saturday everyone!! day 5 of journal challenge was success for me, I ate my exercise calories, but managed to squeak in within my allowance for the day. Today might be hard, I'm going to ask DH if he wants to go to "Taste of Marysville" a fundraiser for united way where local restaurants have samples. maybe hard to journal, but I'm not going to give up on my streak! we are half-way through this journaling challenge. and though the weekends can be harder....let's pledge to journal it even if it's over, b/c then it's for awareness and better choices next time! just got my breakfast in and recorded, and off to the gym as soon as DH home from his haircut

otherwise just a weekend at home, going to work on my DD graduation open house invites, at least I've been saying that for two weeks! I'm getting down to the wire though. I'll be going away for a few days next week to stay with my Mom as she is having knee replacement on Monday. My intent is to make the invites there whenever she's napping :teeth:

Had a busy day rushing around with shopping. I decided to make a new batch of veggie lasagna. I oven roast slices of eggplant, zucchini and bell peppers and make a tomato sauce. Then it gets layered with brown lasagna noodles and some crumbled low fat feta cheese thrown in and topped with a thin layer of grated parmesan. I have made it before and it usually comes out with 7 or 8 points per portion as it really is mainly veggies. I put it into the freezer and it is a wonderful filling meal when I get home from work late and need some comfort food. I took a picture of all my ingredients and will post the before and after results tomorrow hopefully!

I did well with journalling today. I had one treat as I was visiting a friend and she had some delicious cake. But that was a calculated treat, so I am happy about it. Had a low point dinner and lunch to make up for it!

I have been slacking with my exercise the last couple of days and can't really get motivated to do some more today (it is already 8:30pm here). I have been feeling under the weather since Thursday, my lymph nodes under my jaw are slightly swollen and I am feeling very low on energy. So not sure whether high energy exercise is the right thing... But I should move some more, so I guess I am going to put on my shoes and will go for another walk around the neighborhood!

I've had a relaxing weekend but still got stuff done. :) Super proud. I even washed up dishes after our dinner. Less to do tomorrow evening. If my meat was thawed I'd maybe put on a crock pot recipe for my chicken. Oh well. We may have chicken tomorrow, breakfast for dinner Tuesday and my other corned beef brisket on Wednesday in the crock pot. :) Thursday not sure yet(but I have a bag of chickpeas so maybe a meatless night?) and Friday has been pizza day for awhile. Now to work on menu to shop from for the next week or so on the cheap. Going on a bit of a vacation to South Dakota on 13th-20th. Trying to keep as much pay as possible for the trip but I will get paid while there too. ;)

I know we didn't do weigh ins this month but was down .8 from last week. woohoo! Now to increase my walking(its been inconsistent) and work on some resistance routine at home for now. I want to get into a gym but sounds like they require checking drafts for the Planet Fitness. I do not have a checking account and don't really want one at this time. I'm leaning towards LA Fitness for use of the indoor pool and hot tub as well as being able to add my daughter on.

I hope everyone had a great weekend. I'm off to work on some meal ideas that will be inexpensive and healthier than we've had this week. And to work up a good resistance workout routine I can do next week with my increased walking.8-)

Managed to track over the weekend but went over on both days. Back to being under today to start off the new week. Made lunch yesterday and outlined the menu for the week. Also restocked yogurts and fruit.

Happy Monday!!

I am still doing well with tracking! Am only missing one day, but had perfect tracking since Friday again.

Spent a lot of time on Sunday making vegetable lasagna for the freezer. And had one portion for dinner yesterday. It was delicious!! Now I have 5 more portions in the freezer and one in the fridge (the one in the fridge will be a wonderful dinner sometime this week). I roasted far too much eggplant, so I have a box of roasted eggplant slices in the fridge as well. I am thinking I might cut them into small pieces and then mix them with some pasta and throw in an egg. A very lazy meal here in Germany is called "Schinkennudeln" which means "ham pasta" and you boil the pasta (or use left over pasta from a previous day), then in a pan you throw in sliced ham that you have cut into cubes (or smaller pieces), maybe also some onion, and then add the pasta and once everything is warmed through you throw some egg on top of it. So, I am thinking I will substitute the ham with the eggplant.

We are still looking for a coach for May!! Anyone willing to take over???

I can really recommend hosting! I always find that it helps me to focus when I am hosting! It is not that difficult and it is always up to the hostess fo the month of how she wants to run the month! So, don't hesitate, just try it out!

And totally forgot to tell you about my NSV (non scale victory):

I thought last week that my clothes fit a bit better, so I tried on some clothes that I have not worn since Christmas and today I am wearing one of my favourite winter skirts that I have not worn very much at all this winter before it is time to change it out for the summer clothes! I am feeling very positive that things are moving in the right direction for me! I really am enjoying to not use the scale anymore at all. Some days I miss the motivation I get from a good number, but I don't miss the frustration about the bad numbers. I think the scale is still necessary to have a certain amount of control. But I am seriously considering to make it a monthly weigh in (most likely weigh myself the last three days and the first three days of every month as I often have so much daily fluctuation in my weight). But currently I am not going to weigh myself until the beginning of June. I just enjoy the freedom from the scale so much!

Morning all! Happy Monday! I was totally away from the computer over the weekend.... track meet for DS Saturday morning, then the drive to DD's school and a short-but-sweet overnight visit with her, a grocery stop, and then home last night. This morning I slept in a bit (since it is our school vacation week) and now I'm deep into some cleaning and cooking for the week ahead. I willcome back to chat later today! My eating over the weekend wasn't great.... but when I took a moment to reflect back on exactly what I ate, it really wasn't as terrible as I was making it out to be! Three large slices of delicious-but-greasy pizza on Saturday night, some tortilla chips and some chocolate were really the worst of my offenses. But of course, back on track this morning with some pumpkin oatmeal, fruit, and coffee!

The sun is shining (unexpectedly) right now, so I'm going to go make the most of it! TTYL...........P

Well, first of all, Free Dining was announced this morning!!! :mickeyjum Finally booked my trip for Nov. 10-17! Now I'll have to update my ticker...

Had a super fun weekend, but didn't do so hot on the journaling and watching what I eat. Oops. Oh well. We were up at the cabin with some friends, which was super fun, but 2 of them are very sedentary, so it made getting out and moving difficult.

I got 11/14 on the MK quiz. :)

Managed to track over the weekend but went over on both days. Back to being under today to start off the new week....

that's exactly how my weekend went!! but we should be proud we still journaled and today is day 7 of the journaling challenge!! it's feeling more routine for me once again!! :teeth:

this is a short fly-by post. I woke up at 4 a.m. this morning and couldn't get back to sleep, just took a cat nap but I'm not feeling well ;( I'm going to get Piper around the block so that I have my steps in for this day as I was challenged for M-F hustle by my fitbit friends so I need to keep up. I did force myself to the gym this morning, which is something in itself. I really just wanted to sulk in my pjs until I was able to finish out the sleep I needed for the day. My mom had her knee replacement surgery this morning and so I need to pack up my things as planned, i'll be going to her house tomorrow (if she's released as scheduled now) and stay with her and Dad for a few days to help out.

I see on the schedule that MissDisney121 has volunteered to coach in May? is she MIA??? I'm afraid I cannot step up to May as I need to plan a graduation party...but I have enjoyed holding down the spot this month!

Hi all! Just another fly-by from me.........trying to get a lot accomplished during this vacation week and every time I think I am heading toward the computer, I think of something I should do first. Not that talking to you all isn't important.... but once I sit, I end up getting caught up in the lure of things like Facebook and Pinterest!

I will step up to coach May if MissDisney121 cannot. Has anyone heard from her in the last few weeks? ohMom, have you sent her a PM? If not, I will PM her later tonight and see if the schedule needs to be changed or if we will be hearing from her soon!

I will confess that I did track over the weekend, but it was after the fact and it wasn't pretty. No total PPV for the day, just tracked what I actually ate. But of course, as of yesterday morning it was back to precise pretty tracking, as usual!

Dinner tonight is done and ready for the men to heat up while I'm at work (WW still goes on, despite school vacation week)..... "less meat" chili (instead of meatless). I use part lean ground beef and part meat substitute, plus homemade refried beans and veggies. DS tasted it yesterday for me and declared it "delicious"! DS doesn't like the whole beans, so I don't add those up front, but leave them for folks to warm up and add to their own portion..... works best this way for us..... I can get MORE beans and DS can have NO beans and DH can have a FEW beans!

Gotta dash and make lunch for DS before his track practice today! TTYL....................P

Hello from MCO! Just waiting on our flight back home while chowing down on my last vacation ice cream. Ate a lot this week but also ran ourselves ragged in the parks (magic kingdom was brutal the other day) so I'm hoping that I'm not too far out of my maintenance range. Will check the full extent of the damage tomorrow morning on the scale.

I've been following along when I have a few minutes to spare, looks like you guys are doing great! I think the middle of the month was tough for everyone but hopefully we can all finish the month strong!

Will try to catch up a bit better either this afternoon when I get home or tomorrow morning.

Hi all. Quick check in (why is life so busy???--LOL). I am keeping up with the food tracking and made my step goals yesterday and today. :)

Well, first of all, Free Dining was announced this morning!!! :mickeyjum Finally booked my trip for Nov. 10-17! Now I'll have to update my ticker...

That's great!!! And lucky that you could use it. I have noted that the dates are far more limited every year.

I woke up at 4 a.m. this morning and couldn't get back to sleep, just took a cat nap but I'm not feeling well

Oh, this sounds horrible! Hopefully you got to catch up on sleep!

My mom had her knee replacement surgery this morning and so I need to pack up my things as planned, i'll be going to her house tomorrow (if she's released as scheduled now) and stay with her and Dad for a few days to help out.

They let her out a day after such massive surgery?? Wow! My mother was in hospital for three weeks after her hip transplant and then she went to another place for three weeks where she did physical therapy and such.

I hope all goes well with your mother and she recovers quickly!

I will step up to coach May if MissDisney121 cannot. Has anyone heard from her in the last few weeks? ohMom, have you sent her a PM? If not, I will PM her later tonight and see if the schedule needs to be changed or if we will be hearing from her soon!

I checked, and she last posted at the beginning of March on the March thread. Thanks Pam for stepping up! I could take May as well if you feel like you have coached too much this year already (even though I think you are a much better coach than me and would love for you to do it).

I think Molly did a wonderful job in April!! Thank you Molly!

Hello from MCO!

Hope you had a fantastic trip!!

(Craving homemade lasagna after reading this thread)

I feel that that is my fault... I should post the pictures I took and give a basic recipe...

Hi all. Quick check in (why is life so busy???--LOL). I am keeping up with the food tracking and made my step goals yesterday and today. :)

Hi there!! Well done on getting your goals!

thanks for checking up on the coaching situation..I did not PM her. I'm sorry she's MIA :sad1: thanks for the kudos on coaching, Pamela sure is a hard act to follow! coaching kept my head in the game, so if anyone considering it, please try it!! it's a lot of fun and you can make it be what works for you, tracking WI or not, mini-challenges, questions for chatter, meme, etc. have FUN with it and let it be your motivator!!

well, mom did not go home Tuesday, but is being released today. Magdalene, you are right, joint replacements now are an revolving door type surgery, in and out. Here we used to send people to 'rehab' facilities after surgery as well, but now insurance will usually only pay for that is there is complications. She should get home physical therapy for a bit. She is actually doing VERY well, has a nerve block pump until Friday so that should get her through the hump of the hardest days. I'm still home now, but scrambling to get things put together to go yesterday. I'm taking a couple crafty type projects that I'm hoping she can help me with :teeth:

WOO HOO WEDNESDAY -- share with us a victory from the past week!

for some of us, we can claim our mini-challenge victory today!! today is DAY 10 of the journaling challenge!! I made it! the weekend and Monday's food choices were not premium, and a few days I ate all my exercise calories which I generally try not to do. I was feeling so good about it this morning, I thought I'd step on the scale since i'll be gone on our last day for this month. and yes...I was up 2 lbs. UGH!! I have been struggling with my steroid dose, feeling like it's not enough and last week when I took more steroids to get past it, I lost some weight. now I'm back to my regular dose and I'm up. my body is BACKWARDS!! so I'm considering bumping up my regular dose just a smidge with all the extra walking and activity that I've been doing. my lower back is really hurting me too, and that's a sign of not enough as well. it's so very hard for me to wrap my brain around taking more steroids to feel better. especially when I lived with the excess for several years that damaged my body and made me so miserable!! baby steps, though, I'm getting there

I've had three great WO days in a row, so I feel good about easing up a little while at Moms. I still plan to get some walks in to get my steps, and packed two WO outfits and will probably do her WATP dvds

trith -- hope you had a magical vaca :mickeyjum

FINISH THE MONTH STRONG YOU BIG LOSER!! :yay:

I did not realize there were monthly goal threads until right now after doing some further digging into the Wish threads. Since I did not write a goal for April I will just report what I did in April. I planned to run/walk about 45 minutes at least three days a week. I was sidelined by the flu in the middle of the month which was a big pain in the tail feathers. So you could say my goal was about ~585 minutes and I did around 450 minutes. I work out tonight and it is still April! So take that up to 495 for April which will put me at 85% for the month. I'll take it with how bad that flu got me. And I'm down a whole pants size to 12!!!!
See you in the May thread...glad I found you all :)

UPDATE: Ok, I just realized each month has different goal rules. Doh! And the above fits into the May rules. I have not been scale watching since I hit below my pre-baby weight. So I'm now just exercising to feel better so I do not obsess about lbs. (just my issue, happy for all those who check the scales...more power to everyone...and pixie dust :) )
